Welcome to our free standing garden house (not in the Jordan area but in North Amsterdam), constructed in a classical Waterland style, with much privacy, own entrance, private bathroom, living/kitchen: magnetron, hot plate, cooker hood, fridge, coffee machine .
TV/radio, DVD player, Wifi, central heating.
In the attic: 1 double (140x200cm) and 1 single bed (90x200cm). When necessary 2 children may sleep downstairs on a sofa bed (130x210cm); small working table and cupboard.

The GardenHouse is located in Schellingwoude, a village "swallowed" by Amsterdam . Our street is a dead end street, very quiet and silent.
Parking is free of cost. Public transport to the city centre is nearby (1500 m) or 30 min by bike through scenic Schellingwoude and Nieuwendam with a harbour crossing by free ferry). By car only 10 minutes.
The supermarket (300 m) is specialized in local, fresh, eco-products: sells all you need incl fresh bread and a small restaurant.
Take a stroll, starting at the front door, get a breath of fresh air along the dykes of the IJsselmeer or the neighbouring waterlocks.
Very suitable for outsdoor activities, especially biking, walking/running as well as exploring Amsterdam as you like.

Very convenient for centre of amsterdam, whilst being a great chance to see the beautiful north of the city. Amazing food market just down the road, great fresh produce, great beer, fish, meat, cheese etc...with a restaurant open from midday.
Everything done tastefully to a very high standard. Great attention to detail, with everything you could need and more available, extensive local literature and tourist info.
Anrik (the owner) is so helpful and friendly, he is great if you have any questions about your stay.
We would firmly recommend the place and cannot wait for another chance to visit . -

I used the gardenhouse as a retreat for a couple of days so that I could work on my novel. It was everything I had hoped for and more. The house is cosy and comfortable, with floor heating and a brand new kitchen and bathroom (the toilet is flushed with rainwater). The bed was excellent. And the neighborhood is very quiet. The location is beautiful as well. Right at the harbor of Schellingwoude, with magnificent views of amsterdam Center at the other side of the IJ river. You can walk or bike endlessly from there, whether to the buzzling city or through the countryside, whatever you like. Landmarkt - an enormous eco-foodmarket and restaurant is at walking distance. Also, Anrik is a warm and welcoming host who will go through great lengths to make you feel at home. But if you wish so, he lets you have all the privacy you need as well. North is the upcoming neighbourhood in amsterdam. A lot of popular restaurants have opened there recently, there is the spectacular new filmmuseum Eye and much more. Also, taking the ferry to the city center and crossing the IJ, is always nice.
