Situated right in the heart of the old center, the apartment is on the top floor of an old historical house overlooking Amsterdam’s smallest canal, the Beulingsluis.

The 110sqm flat is a loft-like space with living room and an open kitchen overlooking the roofs of Amsterdam. The living has a fireplace which makes it cozy during winter time, but when the weather is good you can relax in total privacy on the 40sqm terrace and enjoy some of the most incredible sunsets.

There is a master bedroom which sleeps two and up in the attic there is another bed which takes two people.

The apartment, with its characteristic wooden beams..., is full of light and very tranquil allowing you to enjoy some peace and quiet after a day out, or entertain in all comfort.

The house is in the heart of the historical center overlooking Amsterdam’s smallest canal, and jammed between the Herengracht and the Singel, two of the major beautiful canals. Just round the corner from the famous flower market, you are at minutes walking distance from everything you need. Whether it’s shopping during the day, or going out in the evening, here you don’t even need the bike to get to it. And when you are tired of it all you can retire to tranquility just as quickly as you found the hub of it all. There are three tramlines just round the corner which take you to the major museums like the Van Gogh in less than ten minutes, and in the opposite direction to the central station just as quickly (its only three stops) . The neighborhood is friendly and safe, and if you enjoy cooking at home, you'll find an excellent grocery, butcher, patisserie, and the best cheese shop I've ever come across, just round the corner. A one minute walk takes you to the SPUI, a square with lovely cafes with long reading, bookshops, and on fridays and sundays art and book markets.

  A great apartment, super location, comfortable, everything you need for a holiday. The apartment is in an ideal location within easy walking distance of all the tourist sites. Around the apartment there are loads of shops, bars, restaurants within easy reach. The apartment is in a quiet street which has two restaurants in it. The terrace was lovely with good views, unfortunately it rained most of the time we were there so we only got to use it twice!
  
  The apartment is very clean and well equipped with everything you could need, the bed is comfortable and the the hot water plentiful. It is up several flights of stairs with no lift, not for the infirm.
  
  From the initial e booking to checking out everything was easy. We would certainly return.

  Ideal location for everything, but quiet - Pleasant space, nice bedroom and bathroom, livingroom with open kitchen - We just would have wished to get two keys.

  Convenience and Comfort at Esmeralda's Place

  We occupied Esmeralda's Place during October of 2010, and would be pleased to rent it again. The apartment is centrally located, about a hundred meters from a tram stop at Konigsplein, and a short tram ride from the Centraal Station. Esmeralda's Place lies on the little-traveled Beulingstraat, between two canals, affording views from its windows of buildings hundreds of years old. The apartment's is near many restaurants, bookstores, and a bustling, well-stocked grocery store.
  
  The apartment itself was in good repair, clean, and well furnished with everything necessary, including cutlery, dishes, towels, bed linens, a clothes washing machine made by Siemens (read on), and cleaning supplies. Fresh grapes awaited us in the refrigerator as did bottles of mineral water on a kitchen counter, and ground, fresh coffee in a tin. Esmeralda's Place also contained a radio and a working television set.
  
  Esmeralda's Place was so quiet that several days passed before we knew the building containing it also held other tenants. Some street noises due to building renovation penetrated the second floor apartment (North american numbering) but they could be excluded by closing windows. The bedroom windows face an enclosed, unused courtyard, which was silent at night.
  
  We cannot bring any substantial complaint against Esmeralda's Place. But we do fault Siemens for the obscure, low-placed pictographs meant to instruct viewers in the operation of its washing machine. The small size, low placement, and obscure meaning of these symbols made them difficult to read for anyone wearing bifocal spectacles, and hard to understand by anyone. A second key to the apartment would have been helpful, as would a bathroom exhaust fan. These, however, are minor issues, which would not prevent us from renting Esmeralda's Place again or from washing ourselves or our clothing there.
  
  The geniality and helpfulness of our host enhanced the pleasure of our stay.

  The appartment was really good. The place was so spacious and very well located. Just around the corner the flowermarket with the tulips. So Central and it was an amazing old building, impressive :-). What i do not forget is this great host (Henk) who was very hospitable and who knew so many details about the city ..Thanks again for everything !!!
