Valentines Apartment
This apartment offers beautiful views overlooking the Prinsengracht canal. The accommodation is very light and spacious, with large windows, and the atmosphere is homely and warm. Having the bedroom at the back of the apartment gives you a peaceful sleep. It is located in The Jordaan and at walking distance to the most famous spots in the old city centre.
It is set on the third floor of the building, no lift, so not recommended for elderly or guests with walking disabilities.

No weak points. The apartment is spacious, well located, clean, and fully equipped, with all you need to cook, wash clothes, dishes, make coffee, etc. There is a huge bathroom. Everything worked fine. The hostess was likable and friendly. There is also a very charming view from the windows.

The two of us had a perfect cultural weekend. We loved staying on Prinsengracht, enjoying the bars and returning to cook a delicious meal. We entertained friends on the Sat night. A very good welcome as well.

We discovered amsterdam, a city that we knew almost nothing about. It is rich in term of architecture, history, urban landscape, original boutiques... We spent 16 days at Valentines apartment and it was not enough. Fortunately, this apartment is strategically well located at a walking distance of many points of interest (train station, the Dam, some of the museums and historical building...) and facilities (food stores, bars, restaurants). At the same time, the place is very quiet while taking advantage of a privileged view on the canal with all the people's activities around (we didn't need to watch TV!). The place is well equipped and nothing is missing. Valentine and Rui made real efforts to make us enjoy our stay even when we had to face an unforeseen problem. Thanks to Peter for his kind assistance for our luggage in the steep stairway and for his numerous suggestions for things to do in amsterdam. Unfortunately, we had to be selective in our must-to-do list. Hope we will be back!

We stayed here during amsterdam Pride in early august and had an amazing time. Peter met us at 3pm and kindly carried my bags up the steep amsterdam staircase. The apartment is big and comfortable, with great views over Prinsengracht Canal.
The bathroom is large with 2 sinks and the bed is one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on - it feels like you are sleeping on clouds. The kitchen is well stocked with lots of pots & pans and its great to cook and keep you healthy while you are partying in amsterdam.
What sets this apartment apart from the rest was Peter's service and welcome - we felt like he would do anything for us and was so helpful when we needed it during our stay.
I cannot recommend this apartment enough - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and can't wait to go back.Response from Apartments Unlimited - 10/23/2012

Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Das appartment hat einen wunderbaren ausblick und liegt wirklich sensationell für den Besuch von amsterdam. Peter hat sich wunderbar um uns gekümmert und sogar meinen Koffer getragen. Es ist alles da, was man im Urlaub braucht. Das appatment ist liebevoll eingerichtet. Das Bad könnte noch ein bißchen renoviert werden. Ich kann das appartment nur weiterempfehlen.

Valentines flat was as described on line. The space was light, clean, well stocked (cooking, internet access, linens, books to read)... and we slept in the the most comfortable bed! The apartment is well situated with easy access to Central Station, the tram, nice restaurants, and a grocery. Private and quiet.

We had the opportunity to spend 3 weeks at Valentines apartment. This was our first trip to amsterdam, so we were already excited. But, we could not have been more happy with our accommodations. The apartment was perfectly located in Old amsterdam. With a "eagle's eye" view of the Prisengracht Canal, we were in the pulse of the city. The canal provided great entertainment with its constant flourish of activities. The apartment was conveniently located within short walking distances of so many amsterdam destinations...Noodermarkt, Westerkerk, Anne Frank Huis, Homomonument, and more. Plus, Dam Square and Centraal Station were an easy 10 minute walk. And we couldn't have found a better location for Queen's Day...you are right in the middle of the party. We were graciously welcomed by Ron, the property manager, who took the time to explain the apartment as well as give us valuable details on the city. He was very supportive during our stay. And even when it was discovered that the refrigerator was not working, he made sure a new one was there within 24 hours. He even ordered our taxi to the apartment for our departure. The bed was super comfy. The bedroom in the back of the apartment was very quiet...even during the all night party during Queen's Day. The kitchen was properly outfitted. And the bathroom was huge! The only warning we can give future tenants is the stairway is very narrow and extremely vertical. Don't pack large or heavy suitcases like we did. Still, we would definitely check the availability of Valentines apartment on our next journey to amsterdam.

This wonderful apartment is nicely furnished and full equiped. The bath tub could stand a renovation. The view on the gracht is perfect and optimally located in the jordan quarter. The receipt was very friendly.

Apartments Unlimited were extremely efficient, their detailed directions to the apartment made the journey from Schipol simple & we were met by a very welcoming & helpful host. Valentines is generously equipped & we were comfortable.It was a pleasure to return after a days exploring to sit & relax by the window & watch the boats passing on the canal below.We had a good choice of cafes, bars & restaurants within walking distance.

My husband and I had the most wonderful time in amsterdam and especially at Valentines apartment! It was very clean, the bedroom a haven of tranquility, the bathroom much bigger than what probably most of us are used to from home and the living room is tastefully decorated with the famous view onto the Prinsengracht. Peter, our host, was and is an absolute star! Very kind, explained everything well and gave us great tips for the neighborhood restaurants which were fantastic.
We are in amsterdam several times a year, also for business reasons, and we will again book with apartments Unlimited for all the right reasons. :o)

The location is absolutely perfect, steps away from the museums and restaurants. Big windows are overlooking one of the prettiest canals. The apartment is very comfortable, with large kitchen and bathroom. The manager was wonderfully pleasant and helpful. We enjoyed even the steep staircase, which makes one feeling like a local, but not suitable for older people because of the stairs.

It was so nice to wake up to an apt and not a small hotel room. It's very expensive to eat out in amsterdam and we saved 100's of dollars by having a very equipped and new kitchen to cook in.
Be prepared to walk very steep stairs (and 3 floors).
The bed was not the best but you can't just put a new bed in the apt without a big hassle. The bed was bareable considering everything else you get.
Peter was there to meet us and he couldn't of been nicer.

We had a very pleasurable stay at the Valentine apartment. The host was very nice and helpful and the apartment was so spread out and spacious. The bathroom alone was half the size of our whole Paris apartment! My only complaint would have to be the bed. It was very stiff and kind of hard to sleep on. We bought a 10 euro pad and it helped immensely. The location was perfect though. Blocks away from a market, a beautiful view of the canal, a bar on the corner, and a pancake bakery two doors down. We couldn't have asked for a better location. The bedroom was at the back of the apartment, which made for a quiet and peaceful sleep. Unlike other times I have stayed in amsterdam and been woken up early by street noise. We had a wonderful experience at the Valentine apartment and I would highly recommend it to friends and family.

A brilliant, peaceful location with lovely views and lots to do on your doorstep. The finish of the apartment was just not what we expected for the price, having paid not much more to stay in a luxury hotel around the corner the previous night. The rental company have given us a small refund and are promising changes so keep an eye out as it has great potential.

We don’t agree though when you say the price you have paid for our apartment was “not much more to stay in a luxury hotel around the corner”, because the price per night of that luxurious hotel you have told us was almost the double of what you’ve paid for our property, described on our website as “great views, but basic and very simple”. I’m sorry it couldn’t fulfill your luxury expectations, but we do have other properties that provide that, if you please advise next time what you’re looking for.

Valentine's apartment was a perfect place to stay in amsterdam. The unit itself is spacious and immaculate and has gorgeous huge windows overlooking the Prinsengracht Canal ... the light that streams through in the mornings was a perfect was to start each day. Valentine herself was very welcoming during our check-in and also made herself available by phone throughout our stay for advice on restaurants and transportation options. My husband and I enjoyed cooking some meals in the well-appointed kitchen, and always slept well in the comfortable bed. We would highly recommend Valentine's apartment!
