Spent three nights in this unit in early may 2013 and it was very good. The location is excellent and within walking distance of just about everything you'd want to see - about a five minute walk from the train station. The unit had everything we needed including peace and quiet, however be aware the stairs could be challenging for some people. The owner, Camillo, was very helpful, personable and accommodating.
Camillo, thanks for the opportunity to experience amsterdam in a non-touristy way.

I and my girl friend have enjoyed our stay in this apartment, full of all you need for an holiday in amsterdam. A complete kitchen with dishes, microwave, fridge and even sugar, nescafè and tea. The room is not to big and the same for the bathroom but for a couple is ok. The heating works very well and it is sometimes useful also in summer. The location is fantastic, ten minutes walk from Dam Square.
It's not cheap but there if you want to spend less you must stay far from the centre.
Pay attention to the stairs: they are very steep like every house in amsterdam; of course it could be a problem for old or disabled people

This apartment, located in the heart of amsterdam is a very good option for a week stay or bank holiday.
It has everything you need during your stay (full kitchen, one 2-people bedroom, a comfortable living room...). As it's in the city center, you don't need to use any transport if you want to visit the main attractions in amsterdam but, if you prefer to escape a bit from the big city, the Central Station is about 5 min by foot.
The worst thing i think is the space, everything inside the flat is fitted in every corner and the stairs are more than narrow and if you are handicapped, this is not your option but that's typical in all amsterdam's old buildings.
We sure recommend it. -

Éramos un grupo de tres personas y nos alojamos en este apartamento, que está muy cercano a la estación central y muy céntrico. Camillo fue muy atento en todo momento, tuvimos un pequeño percance y tanto él como Joost se portaron muy bien, perocupándose en todo momento por ver cómo estábamos.

We absolutely enjoyed every waking and sleeping moment we spent in the home! It had everything we needed for the week we were there, and could have stayed for longer if necessary as all our needs were perfectly accomidated in the dwelling. Bed was comfy, home was very clean and the decor was pleasing to the eye. The atmosphere in the apartment was light and fresh and we felt right at home. The view was nice and the area felt safe morning and even still into the very late night. Many shopping stores, great restaurants and coffeshops closeby as well. We enjoyed going to the Betty Boop which was just right next door. We also very much fell in love with Camillo. (The manager/owner? Im not sure what his exact title is..) He was very accomdating and helpful from start to finish and we felt that he was available to us if we ever needed anything. The apartment was equipped with a laundry machine, pretty much a full kitchen, dining table with chairs, radio, balcony, bathroom, separate bedroom and a living space with TV, radio, Wi-Fi, a couch and a helfpful binder filled with lots of amsterdam tourist information. I would most definitely recommend this place and would absoutely stay there again on a return trip. Only thing to be prepared for is that this particular unit is upstairs one level. This was not a problem for us.

Great apartment for couples! The apartment is 5 minute walk from central station and a couple of minutes to dam square! The apartment was spotless and had everything we needed for our stay! Two coffee shops nearby and for all the Irish slainte pub in neiumarket is great for food and atmosphere
Camilio was so helpfull and his map came in handy a lot!
Definetly going back to amsterdam and this is the only place I will stay!!! -

Estuve encantada en este apartamento que estaba en el centro, muy cerca de todo, desde la ventana se divisa una de las tÃpicas cervecerÃas. Con sus ventanales a la calle, parece que eres uno de los habitantes de esta ciudad.Estaba todo muy limpio. El trato fue inmejorable, con toda la información neceasria para disfrutar de esta ciudad, que por otra parte, me gusto muchÃsismo.
No tengo nada que objetar y repetirÃa gustosamente.

Camillo was a perfect host making our stay in amsterdam go very smoothly, from communicating via email before hand to picking up the keys and giving us a brief but helpful view of the city.
The apartment is small and on the second floor. All that you needed was in the apartment and servicable. Our favorite room was the sunny living room which overlooks the square below. The square is busy with customers for lunch and dinner but is quiet later at night. The apartment is quiet at night for sleeping with the bedroom at the back.
Location is great; a few minutes walk from the Centraal Station, tram just out the door, a great coffee shop (drinking) on the corner with a very amiable owner,grocery store close by, and everything pretty much walking distance. If you want to rent bikes there is a rental across from the apartment too.
If you have mobility problems you will find the stairs to the apartment narrow and steep. The place is cozy and comfortable but the bedroom and bathroom are tight for space.

Our stay at the amsterdam Old Centre apartment was nothing other than perfect. It is located right in the City Center and when you walk out your door there are tons of restaurants and shops, along with a nice outdoor seating area serviced by those restaurants. Camillo was also a great host. We got slightly off track making our way to the apartment from the train station (which is a 2 minute walk) and he came to meet us and bring us back. After the apartment tour he also briefed us on the best sites in the city. The apartment itself is not huge, but was plenty of room for us. It was quiet, comfortable, and provided some rare american conveniences like a real washer and dryer. I definitely recommend this place to everyone!

The service was very good, the owner was friendly and accommodating, letting us check in earlier and check out later than normal. The flat was small but cosey and the kitchen was fully stocked. The location was perfect, very close to the station and the Red Light District.

My husband and I stayed at the Old Centre apartment from May-29 thru June 2nd. The property is right in the middle of everything in the city.
Walking distance from supermarkets, public transport, the palace, and all. The property is just right in size, but for some could be a bit small.
If I go back to amsterdam I will talk to Camillo; his property is a charmer.

Camillo gave us a great orientation when we arrived. In my jet lagged state, I locked us out the next morning, and Camillo sent us off to a nearby cafe for coffee while he managed to get us back in--no problems and all smiles! He also promptly replaced a hair dryer that broke a week into the two week stay. We were within walking distance from everything. The apartment is in a busy area and the restaurants in the plaza below can get a bit loud from the living room at night when it is warm and the windows are open, but the bedroom in the back was quiet enough (my spouse, who is a light sleeper, had no trouble sleeping). So if you want absolute quiet, this may not be for you. But if you want a great location (short walk to the central sation) and wonderful hosts and a feeling that you are in the middle of everything, then this is a great apartment. They provided great service--the apartment was clean when we arrived and they cleaned it again the next weekend. In short, a delightful clean and airy (good cross ventilation) apartment. We thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks there.

Our family (2 adults+1 toddler) stayed 4 nights at the amsterdam Old Centre apartment.
We were very pleased with our choice! Its location is superb - just 3 minutes walk from the central station and Dam square on a quiet street (was a little busy on weekend, but we did not hear the noise in the bedroom).
Although only 40m square, the apartment was spacious enough for us. It is very clean, nicely decorated and very well equipped with everything needed, including washing machine, dishwasher, wifi connection etc.
Camillo is a very good host - he helped us with our heavy luggage, gave us a map and explained about the main places of interest in town and also allowed us to leave our luggage at the b&b; on the day we left.
If we visit amsterdam again, we will defiantly choose to stay here.

The apartment is very clean, small but with everything you need and has two large windows.
It is in the centre of amsterdam and about 3 minutes from amsterdam Central Station.
We really enjoyed our stay in this comfortable and hospitable apartment. :)

I really liked the apartment! It is tiny but still very comfortable - typical for an old amsterdam buildings. What pleasantly surprised me was that it was fully equipped and very clean!
Another big plus is that it is situated just in the centre - 3 min. walk from Damrak and 2 min. walk from a tram stop for those lazy to walk or in a hurry. And the location is quiet despite of all restaurants just next door. It is also 5-7 min. walk from the Central Station which crucial for us as we intended to travel a lot by train.
If I have a chance I'll stay in it again as Camillo (the owner)is a friendly person and was extremely helpful.
