Excellent appartment with plenty of opportunities
We stayed here for Kig's Night and King's Day + 5 days period.
It is very clean, good equiped and cosy appartment.
I do agree with all it was said by pevious rewiers.
Just want to add that location gives you plenty of opportunities to explorer amsterdam and the Low Lands.
The owner will help you with that))) As for us we appreciate the option of using the museum card and hints of places to visit in the nearest area and in the subborbs of amsterdam.
The only thing you should remember - this is an appartment and you surely will hear when your neighbours from upper floor are at home)
Lovely, well equipped apartment.Everything you will need is her
Clean large apartment. Tastefully furnished with everything you need for a relaxing break in amsterdam. A large balcony overlooks a pretty canal.Within walking distance to all amsterdam has to offer. Large very comfortable super king sized bed. Lovely shower room. We were welcomed by Judith who was happy to help with any information about the area.Would recommend you stay here if you are planning a visit to amsterdam.
Lovely modern apartment well located
I stayed at this apartment for 9 days. It is located across the road from the Music theatre where I was attending Wagner's Ring cycle so the location was really convenient but it is also in walking distance of all amsterdam's major attractions including the Hermitage museum and the zoo which are very close. Public transport the tram and Metro are across the road
The apartment was well designed with modern appliances including a TV with an Hdmi input to connect any devices you may have with you. The laundry and kitchens facilities were good and allowed normal living while there. The bed was very comfortable. The view across the amstel river was wonderful. Although it was cold outside the apartment was very warm.
Fantastic Location for a week in amsterdamy
The location of the flat is right on the canal with a fabulous view, everything is within walking distance and the metro station is just up the street.
The bedroom has a king size bed and the bathroom has a great shower and there is a washer and dryer. The washer was very easy to use
This bedroom is very quiet and you do not hear any outside noise. There was a grocery store up the street which made it easy to cook in the kitchen.
The living room has a great view of the canal and a balcony you can sit out on. Judith was helpful with taking the luggage up and was available for information if we needed it.
Fantastic Location for 8 night stay.
The location of the flat is right on the canal with a fabulous view, everything is within walking distance and if walking is a problem the metro station is just up the street.
The flat has extremely steep and short length stairs so if you are older or had disabilities this would be a issue.
The bedroom has a king size bed with one side against the wall but the bed is comfortable. The room lacks storage for clothes, there is a closet but it could use some shelving. The bathroom comes off the bedroom and is nicely done which contains a washer and dryer. This bedroom is very quiet and you do not hear any outside noise.
We did not use the kitchen other than for coffee and snacking and it was adequate for this purpose, note the kitchen is european size but does have all the essential appliances. It would be nice if all the light bulbs were working many were burnt out and this may be due to Judith not being aware they needed replacing.
The living room has a great view of the canal and a balcony you can sit out on. The furniture could be of better quality but again was adequate.
Judith was helpful with taking the luggage up and was available for information if we needed it. Would we stay here again yes!
My Wife and I stayed in this apartment for 3 nights. The location was great. Tourist attractions, restaurants, shops and metro station were all within walking distance. Judith, the owner, was very kind and accommodating. She met us upon our arrival and assisted us with taking our luggage upstairs. While the apartment had a lovely view of the canal the interior was extremely disappointing. The furnishings were sparse and worn and the kitchen was not well equipped. The stairs to the apartment are very steep, precarious and definitely not suitable for seniors.
A wonderful place to stay.
Judith is such a wonderful host and passed on so much helpful information e.g. places to visit, cafes etc to eat at,bike hire, canal cruises [just over the bridge right in front of the apartment].
It is right on a tram stop and just across the road from the metro.
The apartment has everything huge lounge area, kitchen, good size bedroom with bathroom and laundry appliances for washing with dryer.
The balcony which you can sit on and admire the beautiful view of the amstal Canal just picture perfect.
Perhaps not for elderly couples as the stairwell is very steep however Judith was wonderful with our cases in taking them up and down.
Overall experience just wonderful and very central.
We spent 4 nights at this apartment (2 adults, 1 child) (child on sofa or sharing bed). The best thing about this apartment is its location - it has great canal views and is in walking distance to many of the major museums and other tourist attractions. It is close to supermarkets. To access the apartment requires climbing a long flight of very narrow stairs, but Judith was very kind helping us both into and out of the apartment with our suitcases. She also very kindly let us have a late checkout which helped us greatly on a rainy last day. We suggested when we left that the kitchen could be somewhat better equipped, eg with more mugs and a coffee plunger, which was our only recommendation for improvement. The bedroom is a bit cramped but nevertheless the living area is very spacious and light, and we thought we got good value for money with this rental. We would stay there again and recommend it to others.

A hidden gem B & B in a great amsterdam location
We stayed one night in the 1 room suite and due to a vacancy moved to the upper apartment which was well worth the extra money. Both are very comfortable but the awesome aspect of the apt. is the balcony which was very memorable. We would start the day with coffee and finish with a glass of wine on the balcony. Watching the action on the bike path, street/tram way and the canal was a hoot. Judith is a fantastic hostess and has an arrangement with a nearby deli where you can custom select a great breakfast. She is knowledgeable about museums and local attractions. Location is very handy and you can walk to many venues or take public transit. Amsterdam and especially the Hermitage were the highlights of our trip
Columbus, North Carolina
The view is just wonderful!!
The apartment is convenient and within walking distance of most amsterdam attractions. Judith helped with the bags up the steep, narrow stairs. The apartment has everything one would need. It was especially nice to have a washer and dryer. The kitchen had some basics like olive oil and salt and pepper and adequate dishes and glasses.
The bedroom and bathroom are very small and could use a shelf or two. One side of the bed is against the wall so getting in and out can be a challenge.
Just sitting and watching the boats on the canal can be entertainment. There are plenty of places to eat nearby.
Perfect apartment for a perfect weekend
Thank you so much for a wonderful stay the accommodation was fantastic with all that you need on hand to make your stay very comfortable.
The location is in walking distance to everything that you will want to see in amsterdam. Should you like to go a little further out hiring a bike is really easy and a 2 min walk from the apartment. We loved the fact that the Tapas bar, Pub and Coffee Shop were right on our doorstep!!
conveniently located, nice apartment
I would have given this apartment a 4* rating. However, while we were there, the whole apartment was shrouded in netting and scaffolding. One of the reasons we picked this apartment was for location - on the canal - so we absolutely had no view or enjoyment of the balcony. And we were not told about it before hand or given any discount or partial refund because of it.
The apartment was very comfortable though with all the benefits of home - including laundry, wifi etc. And Judith was very helpful with directions, suggestions and yes, getting the suitcases up the stairs!.
Dekat Waterloop station.

Thanks a lot for the review of our new B&B room we opend one floor below the Hermitage apartment!
Fantastic location on amstel Cansl
We had a great few days here. What a fantastic location on the amstel canal. We sat on the balcony overlooking the canal an watched the boats go by on the canal. The appartment is well provided for short stays. Our host Judith was so helpful with tips on local shops etc. we were in walking distance from all the main tourist spots.
B&B; Hermitage - Geweldig!
Read more

An enjoyable experiance
Contrary to most review-writers, we stayed at the B&B; room and should say it was no less comfortable and clean(although not big) than the appartment. A pefect location in a very atmosphearic place with numerous cafes, shops and other amenities made our stay an enjoyable experiance.
Judith couldn"t have been more accomodating and welcoming and responded promptly to any request.
All in all,the Hermitage room was a real find and a good value for money. We would highly recommend to stay there to our friends and family(which we have already done).
Do not hesitate to book.
Judith, thank you again.
We have been renting apartments throughout Europe for years and I have to say this is definitely one of the best. Spacious, bright, clean and perfectly located. The balcony overlooking the amstel canal cannot be beat. Judith was very helpful when contacted and prompt with responses.
Do not hesitate to book. You will not be disappointed.

warm welcome and a perfect location
I would certainly recommend this apartment to friends and family. It has a good central location beside a bend in the amstel river. It is quiet and sunny, and Judith the owner is friendly and welcoming. There are good food shops nearby and it is easy to walk to all the sights of amsterdam , or if you wish there is a metro right across the Waterlooplein.

An oasis in amsterdam
We had a wonderful time in amsterdam, despite the (mostly) rainy weather, and it was in large part due to the comfort of the apartment we rented at Hermitage B&B.;
Judith was the perfect host -- friendly and helpful, and invisible until we needed her. The apartment was clean and quiet with an amazing location and a fantastic amstel canal view. This was our second trip to amsterdam in 3 years, and we had previously stayed in an apartment there, so were interested in a different location for this trip. The proximity of Rembrandtplein, the Waterlooplein flea market, and the Hermitage Museum was a big plus. I know that we would have taken in a concert or dance performance at the Stopera if we had had the time to do so.
The stairs are steep, but it's only up one floor, and it would be had to find any apartments in the canal zone that don't have steep stairs. Otherwise we had a comfortable bed, clean bath, a washer and dryer, and wi-fi...it was like having a second home in amsterdam.
Thank you Judith, and if you ever travel to Northern California, let us know so we can return the hospitality. Read more

Hi Sue and Fred,
Thank you for your review, very nice to hear that you had an great time :)

Odlicna lokacija i smestaj za svaku preporuku!!!
Prijateljica i ja smo boravile u amsterdamu od 27.05. do 01.06.2013. Bile smo smestene u B&B; room-u i smestajem smo obe bile i vise nego zadovoljne.

The location of the apartment was very good with easy walking access to supermarket, liquor store, restaurants and Canal Boats. The view from the windows and balcony was excellent and it was nice to sit and watch the world bustle around outside while enjoying a nice glass of wine.
The apartment was comfortable and well equipped with convenience items for a self sufficient stay such as dishwasher, washing machine and drier as well as crockery and cutlery.
Judith was very helpful and responsive via email before we arrived. She met us on arrival, helped get our luggage up the stairs and gave us a rundown on the apartment. At the end of our stay she also arranged a taxi transfer to the airport at a good rate and I would recommend using the company that she suggests for airport transfers to and from the apartment.
There are a few things that could be done to improve the experience but the negatives are far outweighed by the positives. Things like removing some of the clutter of half used toiletries presumably left over by previous guests, having some better quality/matching wine glasses and creating more hanging space for clothes.
Others have commented on the stairs, and they are very steep and tricky to negotiate but with care they are manageable for able bodied people.
I would gladly stay again. Read more

Great Location, Great View, Great Host, Great Place to Stay!
This apartment couldn't be better placed for transport (Tram, Metro, Bus, Canal Bus) and walking links to the whole of the city.
Couple that with a great view over the amstel river from your own private first floor balcony and with all the ameneties (shops, bars, cafes restaurants) that you will need within a couple of minutes radius.
The apartment itself is decorated well throughout and Judith is the perfect host (friendly, helpful and informative) and you are able to come and go as you please with no hassle and no worries.

Hello Gary and Julie,
Thanks a lot for your review, see you next year :)
Greenwood Village, Colorado
Marvelous location and view
The Hermitage canal apartment is in an ideal location. Wonderful restaurants and groceries are close by. The metro is across the street. Mac Bikes was 1 1/2 blocks away and a-dam can easily be biked. It was the perfect location for Queens Day...lots of fun.The apartment is not good for disabled person or achy knees. It has very steep stairs even though it is on the first floor. Because it is a historic building, it is not well insulated and the apartment building and street noises are heard. There is no storage and not one drawer so we lived out of our suitcases. There is only 1 shelve to put your toiletries in the bathroom and it is cluttered with left over items from previous tenants. The same goes for the one kitchen storage cabinet which was full of partial packages. It is good to reuse and recycle, but with tight space, a deep thorough cleaning and cleaning out needs to be done.
Judith was very helpful and nice. The apartment is authentic and delightful other than these few minuses. Read more

Pleasant location but negative points to be improved
The flat is located nearby the center in a typic building. This is the positive strong point. But very steep and narrow stairs to access the flat. We would not recommend if children ord difficulties to walk. The flat miss some pratical arrangements to be well evaluated. And the welcome of the owners could be improved : dirty dishes in the washing machine, we did not get any bye bye when living. We had the impression that the renting activiting is for money and not an activity they like. Read more

We are a couple from France. We spent 3 days at "The Hermitage" Judith's apartment.
Judith is a very friendly lady. She showed us around and let us know how things worked.
The apartment is marvelously located, in the center of town, near the Hermitage museum and with a wonderful view over the amstel canal.
We are ready to renew with the same experience again.

Fantastic location and super accommodation
Judith was welcoming from the start - even in the build-up to our 3 day break. Despite constant rain, we found plenty to do within walking distance of the delightful traditional apartment. If museums are your 'thing' and in that weather it is a good option, ask Judith. She has lots of ideas!
It was a simple pleasure just to sit and idly watch the movement in the street below: everything is catered for: just wish I'd remembered my iPod! Read more

Wonderful apartment in wonderful location
We stayed for 3 nights and couldn't have been happier. The apartment was just as advertised, clean and modern. The location was a stones throw from the metro and around the corner from a bike rental shop. The owner, Judith, was very helpful. We exchanged a dozen or more emails in anticipation of the trip. There were several nice places to eat just downstairs from the apartment and an organic grocery just down the street.
The stairs getting up are a bit steep so I would advise to travel light as a large/heavy suitcase might be difficult to get up the stairs especially if you're alone.
Overall a wonderful stay! Read more

Wonderful place in a wonderful city
I stayed at Judith's place in winter time and it was a very romantic and enjoyable experience. The views from the living are just amazing! You can not believe that it is only a 10 minutes walk to the Dam square. It is a very central yet peaceful and easy to find your way around downtown side area of amsterdam. Judith is an easy going host as well which made our stay even more pleasant. Utrechtsestraat is a nice place for dining and wining for the locals but also very recommendable, as are the host and the apartment! Read more

Gorgeous apartment in a fantastic location
My partner and I stayed at the Hermitage apartment for a week over new years and had a truly wonderful stay. Judith was there to greet us on arrival, and even took the time to show me around the local area.
The location of the apartment is superb - just a few doors up from the Hermitage, right by the canal with spectacular 180 degree views from the balcony. It's a lovely area with some great cafes and boutique shops nearby, and it's a quick 10-15 minute walk from all the fun that the city centre and the red light district hold.
The apartment itself is fantastic - great spacious lounge, well-supplied kitchen, and very comfy bed.
Thank you Judith - next time we're in amsterdam we'll be staying with you again, and we'll be recommending all our friends here in australia do the same! Read more

- Was in walking distance to everything we needed.
- Judith was helpful in providing information about amsterdam.
- Apartment was clean and well furnished.
Overall our stay in amsterdam and in Judith's apartment was absolutely fantastic! Would definitely recommend to anyone going to amsterdam!!
A stunning location to watch amsterdam pass by.
Judith is a friendly and helpful host and Hermitage apartment has everything you need for your amsterdam stay. The apartment is located in an historic amstel canal house with views up and down the canal and over the Blauwbrug bridge towards Rembrandtplein - far enough away from the tourist mecca of Dam Square to feel a part of real amsterdam, but still only a 15 minute walk from Centraal station. Steep stairs, but only one flight of them! This apartment has location, location, location. Read more

Best Vacation Home
The apartment is truly deserving of the award it has received for excellence.
Judith, the owner, made the checking-in process easy by being there personally and showing us about the apartment. You can tell that she is truly proud of her apartment and I'll be too.
The apartment is kept very clean and it gives you good vibes the moment you step into the spacious living room. The place is tastefully decorated in a simple black and white theme, the fixtures are of good quality and you can feel the exclusiveness of the area. The kitchen is well-equipped with all kinds of utensils and condiments to meet your cooking needs. The toilet is so well planned that there is even space for a washing machine and a dryer. The bed is warm and soft...maybe a little too soft for my back. I chose to sleep on the couch the last night coz it was so nice and comfortable there. The balcony opens up to the main canal of amstel and while we there, we had a real treat. We got a great view of the Festival of Lights and spent our last two nights just enjoying the night view by the balcony while sipping on the wine and nibbling on the best cheese in the world.
The location can't be more central...located just within a stone's throw of the Hermitage Museum where the originals of Van Gogh's works are currently displayed. The Opera Theatre is just across the road and both the tram and metro stops are just around the corner. If you are on the Hop-On-Hop-Off bus passes, you will be pleased to know that the bus stops just two minutes from the apartment. That helped alot coz after shopping at Dam Square, we took the bus and ran back to the apartment to drop off the shopping bags before continuing on our city tour. There are also many eateries around and one is literally spoilt for choice for meals.
What can I say but this is by far,the best vacation home we have visited from all our travels.
We simply love it and will definitely want to come back again. Read more

Thank you for your kind words!
My mom and I stayed at the Hermitage apartment for 3 days in November.
As per the instructions received at booking, we called when we arrived in the early afternoon. As someone had just checked-out we were able to leave our bags, borrow an umbrella, and go for lunch while we waited for the apartment.
Judith took us to the apartment for a tour and showed us how to work all the appliances, which was helpful.
The apartment was high end stylishly furnished. It was very clean with the exception of the fact that the outdoor chairs didnt appear to have been wiped down (it was raining when we arrived and only got nice the next day so that may have been why).
Wi-fi was available, and coffee / tea and some basic toiletries supplies were provided.
We loved the location. There was a wine store on the corner and several very good restaurants along the street (we ate at Lo stivale dóro). A bakery was just across the canal (Marqt:great for pastries for breakfast and sausage rolls for snacks) and a grocery store was within a 3 minute walk.
The Hermitage (and Flower market) was the closest major attraction. This is also one of the pick-up locations for the canal bus, which is very convenient (although amsterdam is certainly a walkable city regardless).
The check-out process was very simple. Overall, I was very happy with our stay and would certainly stay there the next time in amsterdam.
A Tip - My uncle and aunt stayed in the B&B; room one floor below us! Read more

Unforgettable location: my new home away from home
My new favorite place to stay in amsterdam. Has it all: top location in the center of amsterdam including channel view and balcony, affordable, great bed and near restaurants, nightlife and culture. The Hermitage museum is one block down.
I highly recommend the Hermitage B&B;.
Hermitage apartment was conveniently located, within walking distance of the Centraal Station and close to all the sights, cafes, parks, museums, etc...The apartment itself is very large, wonderful original period features, very high ceilings and beautifully furnished. Lovely balcony. I would highly recommend the place!
Do not miss out on this apartment!
If you traveling to amsterdam and you want a taste of living as a local, you simply cannot pass up this apartment! The location is absolutely perfect; close enough walk to be in the craziness that amsterdam can offer, but just far enough away that you are not in the middle of it. An extremely good view from the balcony, we could not have asked for anything more! Navigating the public transportation is very simple once you get the hang of it and the location of the Metro (subway) is literally minutes away (making it very easy to get anywhere in the city).
The apartment has everything you need and offers one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in! Judith (the owner) was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay. I cannot emphasize enough how much she made us feel at home, she truly made the trip beyond our expectations!!!
Next time we are in amsterdam, there is no question that we will be staying again!
Excellent Stay, value for the money
I had the best stay ever in amsterdam. Feel like a temporary local along the amstel river. The apartment is bright and extreem clean!
The host is good to deal with.

Great location, comfortable and spacious appartment
We were so happy to have found this appartment, it was walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go and had a lovely view from the balcony.
Judith was accomodating and helpful, she gave us some recommendations for good places to eat (lovely), and showed us a carefully put together pack with information on travel and sites of the city.
The bed was amazingly comfortable and the location of the appartment meant we could sleep with peace and quiet.
We walked through the high street (which is minutes away) every day and we were able to get to everywhere we wanted to go without requiring transporty links (the trams and undergrous are actually very good).
Be aware of the steep steps within the property (only 10 or so), but if you are disablied or elderly that might be an issue.
Overall it was a great experience and it will be top of our list for places to stay when we come back!
I had a great stay at hermitage apartment. I am a resident of amsterdam, but my apartment was renovated. I would deffinitly recommend this place. What a great location, i will miss it!

We recently had the pleasure of staying in the apartment at the Hermitage B&B.; Everything we needed was available in this fully equiped self- catering aparment. We found the location was absolutely perfect for dining, shopping, pubbing and people watching. Located on the first floor the apartment was bright and very spacious with a small balcony looking out over the amstel River. The Metro and tram were just around the corner and the grocery store just 2 blocks away. Judith and her partner were a pleasure to deal with and very prompt responding to questions and emails before our trip. Friendly and gracious when we saw them for our check in and departure, they provided a very comprehensive binder with points of interest, museums and dining options. The only caviot is that because this apartment is in an old canal house the stairs are very steep and take a little practice to navigate them safely ( this is not unusual for these old homes and the locals have no problem, but if you have any physical limitations an old canal house might not be the way to go) for us it just added to the charm. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and recommend it to our friends.
sunshine coast, australia
best location in amsterdam.
This is a great option for 2 people. Fantastic location and view. Absolute value for money. The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely return here and would recommend the apartment.
Excellent apartment in an excellent location.
My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Hermitage apartment for a long weekend. The apartment is excellent - clean, spacious and with a wonderful balcony view over the river. We couldn't have wished for better accommodation for our stay, just better weather! Judith was very helpful from the moment we booked to when we left, I couldn't recommend highly enough.

Comfortable, fascinating & convenient
We thoroughly enjoyed our 8 day stay in Judith's apartment, which was very comfortable & spotlessly clean. The bedroom with its king sized bed was a little on the small side compared to North american bedrooms but since we are on the "petite" side, it wasn't an issue & anyway we were out exploring for most of the day.
The apt is on the 2nd floor, up some fairly steep, narrow stairs which could be a problem for those with mobility issues.
It was very useful having television with some English speaking stations as we liked to catch up on the Olympic Results as well as major world news in the evenings if we were in.
The operation of the washer & dryer is different to what we are used to in N. America so make sure you understand Judith's instructions; in fact write them down...we should have done as we kept forgetting & had to ask again.
It was fascinating watching all the traffic on the canal just outside our sitting room window & although there was a lot of noise and activity during the day, it was amazing how quiet the area became around 10:00 p.m. The apt is practically next door to the Hermitage Museum,a few minutes walk from a 17th Century Canal House Museum, and 20-25 minutes walk from other destinations such as the Royal Palace, Central Station and the large Visitor's Bureau nearby, the Canal Boat and bus trip rendezvous points. There is a tramway just outside the apt. and we would recommend getting multi day passes.
Judith is charming and couldn't have been more helpful, especially when we managed to lock ourselves out of the apt the day before we left.
The general atmosphere around amsterdam was very upbeat: the patios of every restaurant were filled both at lunch time & in the evenings & people (not all just tourists) were out to enjoy themselves & it showed.
The best supermarket/grocer (ah) is less than 5 minutes walk from the apt. and branches of Hema (apparently Holland's favourite store) are also within 15-20 minutes walk.
Best stay Ever in amsterdam
After traveling to amsterdam several years in a row, we decide this time to try a different area of town to stay in. We always stayed in a lovely apartment in the Jordan area(family neighborhood), but this time we decided to stay near the amstel. Once we saw the photos for The Hermitage canal apartment we were sold. Amazing views and amazing location. The apartment was spotless, everything was new and the tall, grand windows/french doors made us feel like we Lived in amsterdam. The apartment was next to everything from the grocery stores to the best restaurants and museums. The trams and the bike shops are just around the corner and all the best markets and shops are within 5 minutes walking distance. Judith who owns the apartment was always an email or call away when we had a quick question or advice on where to have dinner. Judith and the apartment will always be a staple in all of our future amsterdam trips. Thank you Judith for having such a Beautiful apartment and sharing it with us. See you again next year.

Location! Location! Location!
If you'd like to have one of the most amazingly beautiful, panoramic views of amsterdam from your living room balcony windows, this is the place! One could sit all day and watch the passing parade of humanity on foot and bikes crossing the Blauwbrug, the boats large and small sailing up and down the amstel, and even the occasional car, truck or bus! The cafe two doors down, right at the corner of the street, is one of the most charming brown cafes in the city, and the little shop in the basement next door is a gem!
The apartment itself is well-supplied, and the owners, who live downstairs, are very friendly and helpful. We stayed for two weeks, and couldn't believe how lucky we were to have found a place in such a terrific location. We would definitely come back.
Great accommodation in a perfect location
We stayed in the Canal apartment The Hermitage for four nights. Before we even arrived, Judith, the owner, had sent us very useful information about travel from the airport so that our journey to the apartment went without a hitch. Judith met us at the apartment and showed us through, explaining everything and setting us up with wifi. She provided a good deal of literature on amsterdam, including all the wonderful sites and amenities within walking distance of the apartment. The apartment consists of a lovely living area with a great view over a bridge and canal (and a little balcony to sit on and soak up the atmosphere), a well stocked kitchen, a double bedroom and a good sized bathroom (no bathtub, but which also included a washer and dryer). All the decor was modern and cheerful. Despite its very central location, we were never bothered by noise thanks to the double glazed windows and the location of the bedroom at the back of the building. Although the apartments was well serviced, we did miss having a toaster, and we also found outside the front of the building rather neglected. The front door needed a cleaning and the front step had litter on it the entire time we were there. However, that would not prevent us from staying at Canal apartment The Hermitage the next time we visit amsterdam. Be warned: canal houses have very steep, narrow stairs. Don't stay in one if you have mobility difficulties.
Fantastic apartment, brilliant location and comfortable with gre
This apartment was a real find. It was compact, yet comfortable with great views from the balcony. Unfortunately the weather wasn't good enough for us to sit out but had it been, we would have! It is in a great position and we could walk everywhere we wanted to easily. Public transport is close by if you wanted to use it. Judith was very helpful and made us feel welcome for the whole stay. However, the stairs are extremely steep (as is the way in the older amsterdam houses) and that should be bourn in mind if you had mobility issues. We would highly recommend this apartment.
Charming & authentic apartment by the amstel
What a great experience!
Apartment is very charming, authentic (it's a whole floor of a canal house) and comfortable.
It is extremelly well located, in front of Blauwbrug (Blue Bridge), 1 min away (really!) from bus, tram, metro station (Waterlooplein) and from Stopera, also 1 min away from a mini market that is open 8h to 2h and neighbour to a good pub. Just take a look at Google Maps!
Apartment is also well decorated and well equiped: dishwasher, coffee maker, clothes washer/dryer, good refrigerator (not a minibar) and so on.
It's on the first floor above the ground, and there is a steep stair that can be a problem for the elderly, if they're not Dutch and used to this. There is no air conditioning (although we didn't need it).
Our host, Judith, is a very nice and welcoming young lady, with some great amsterdam tips.
Will definetely go there again on my next visit to the city! I already miss it. ;-)

Perfect apartment in Perfect Location
The apartment was beautifully decorated and well-stocked with many necessary items. Owner was very accommodating and responded quickly to any request. Everything was spotless and a perfect location near metro and taxi stand. Very comfortable bed and large shower. Nice kitchen and comfortable furniture. Would highly recommend and hope to stay there again.
Amazing apartment - great location!
I am just back from a 4 days staying at Judith & Suzy's apartment in amsterdam.
I stayed there with my mother and we had a fantastic staying in great part thanks Judith and Suzy's warm welcoming and also to this amazingly great apartment!
the location is probably one of the best in amsterdam - on the same street as Hermitage museum, in between the Jewish area and the City Centre. the Balcony is just above the Blauwbrug, one of the most famous bridges in amsterdam.
The apartment is extremely clean, rooms are spacious and you will find all thinkeable facilities from the flat screen TV, to the dishwasher, washing machine and fully equipped kitchen.
A great thank you! to the two owners!

Great apartment, View, Location~
We could not have asked for more...Judith was amazing. From the initial contact to the booking, the communication was quick, clear, and easy.
After booking we were emailed detailed instructions on how to reach the apartment. It is a short 2 minute walk to the Waterloopen metro station or to reach the 9 or 14 tram...Awesome!
We arrived early, and Judith's neighbors(who own the pub on the corner) invited us in and offered a drink. Great people and place! They called Judith and she raced from the Gym(extra workout) to meet us early. She is a gracious host and cares that you have a great experience!
The location is on the amstel Canal right at Queen's Bridge. Flea markets, shopping, great restaurants, are all with-in a few minutes. The apartment was just perfect; comfortable, well equipped, clean, and had every amenity!
We rented a car the last day of our stay to drive to Brussels; Judith was very helpful with the parking situation.
I would highly recommend this apartment for any stay in amsterdam!
I stayed here for three nights in the apartment and could not have been happier with the accomodation and location! City center, nice canal view. The city is very walkable and I will higly recommend a stay here.
Great apartment in the center of amsterdam
The apartment is in a great location in the middle of amsterdam, between Waterloo square flea market and Rembrandt square.
It is a modern and very comfortable apartment. The kitchen has everything you need.
One of the things we liked best about the apartment was the lovely balcony. It was great just sitting there with a glass of wine in the spring sunshine, looking over the amstel River.
We could walk to everywhere we wanted, which was great, but also the metro and tram are just around the corner, so we could return to the apartment comfortably by tram with all our shopping bags.
The owner Judith was very helpfull, she recommended some great restaurants.
We had a lovely stay, we will absolutely come again.
Las Vegas, Nevada
The apartment was comfortable and accommodating with a terrific historic view. Centrally located and within walking distance to amenities and activities. In addition, Judith was very pleasant, amicable and hospitable. This was an excellent choice and experience.
Sehr empfehlenswert!
