The Harbor House is situated on a canal waterfront location in the Centre of Amsterdam on the trendy and sought after quiet “little village” Prinseneiland.

The exclusive apartment ( 100 m2 / 1075 sq.ft) has its own private entrance and hallway. The entrance of the apartment is situated on the terrain of the former shipyard “De Walvis” which you can enter through a private gate.

On the second floor of the gray wooden building we find the apartment. The apartment has one large bedroom with a king-size dou...ble bed (width 1,80 / long 2 meter), which consists of two separate mattresses that can be adjusted electrically into any position you like, and there is a Sony Bravia flat screen TV. Next to the bedroom is a large bathroom with bath, separate shower and a sink. There is a separate toilet in the hallway.

Through the hall we come into the living room containing a sofa, very comfortable chair and a round glass table with comfortable Castelli design-chairs. From here you have a magnificent view over two crossing canals. Wireless Internet connection is available. The living room can be used as an office and comprises a big flat screen TV, DVD player, I-pod docking station and a fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen has a refrigerator, hot-air-oven, microwave, gas cooking plate, coffee-machine and a toaster.

The historic “Shipyard The Walvis” was transformed by the current owners into two stylish gray wooden buildings, situated on a private terrain. There are private moorings for small boats. In one of these buildings we find on the second floor the apartment “The Harbor House”.

The Shipyard is situated on the Prinseneiland, just a short walk from Central Station and is located in the Amsterdam Centre in a quiet historical area of warehouses, canals, docks and shipyards now converted into a quiet, residential area just an interesting few minutes' walk away from the famous canal area and the highlights of Amsterdam.

Most places of interest are in walking distance, but if you would like to hop on the tram or bus to go places, there are stops very nearby.

It is a three-minute walk to bus stop18 and 22 from/to Central Station and tramline 3, the circle line that passes the museum area.

Leaving the Island, you enter the "busy city", where you find the Haarlemmerstraat, one of the nicest shopping and eating streets of Amsterdam, round the corner of the famous neighbourhood the "Jordaan". In the area are a broad variety of places where you will find breakfast, lunch or diner.

The Islands Realeneiland, Bickerseiland and Prinseneiland are three small unique islands that still belong to the Centre of Amsterdam. The atmosphere feels like a small quiet village of old shipyards, from which some are still functioning, and warehouses, most of them converted into apartments. Artists and people with creative professions came to this neighbourhood to find the quiet spirit of the past so close to the busy part of town.

Rates and Reservations
The minimum stay is two nights. Rates start Low Season at €165,- a night. Including free coffee, tea, water, orange juice and milk. Breakfast on request.

You can park your car on our own private parking place in front of the house.

  My sister and I stayed here for 3 nights starting Queens Day. We found the location to be absolutely perfect for us and would stay here again in a heartbeat. It's easy walking distance to all of the action, but as soon as you step off Haarlemstraat and pass through the tunnel its like you're in another world. So very peaceful you could hear the birds singing and you hardly see a soul. Very secure. Million dollar view of the canal. Wouter and Liesbeth have created a very special place here with attention to every possible detail...tons of storage space, soft-close cabinets, high speed internet, excellent coffee maker, detailed map of nearby restaurants, tons of natural light, comfortable sofa and chair-and-a-half, super comfortable bed and pillows - the best of anywhere I've ever stayed. The above and beyond extras were a wonderful surprise...stroopwafel and bottle of wine to welcome us, a loaner mobile phone pre-loaded with their number and other important numbers... There was a bomb scare at Centraal Station on Queens Evening and they ended up shutting down the luggage storage area at the train station. Wouter graciously allowed us to store our luggage with them the night before we checked in, and suggested an excellent Indian restaurant for dinner, which totally made our evening. We walked to Centraal to meet friends almost every evening (about 20 minutes) and one night we took the bus from Centraal (#18 or #21) a few stops to just beside the pedestrian tunnel under the train and saved 10 minutes walking time. This apartment is exactly like the pictures and is excellent value for the price. We would highly recommend it and will be coming back then next time we visit amsterdam.   Fantastic Find in amsterdam

  Better than a hotel with small rooms and steep stairs - a luxury apartment just 15mins walk from the town centre overlooking two canals. Beautiful scenery, close to restaurants, cafes bars,shops - just perfect. We drove from the UK, phoned 15mins before arrival and Wouter was there to meet us and show us around the apartment. First impressions were wow! When making arrangements we started looking at hotels but were un-impressed, surfing around the internet we found the Harbour House and thought we would try it. This will be our mode of accommodation from now on - it was really great, lower in cost as none of the hotels offered b'fast in the price and we had breathtaking scenery and freedom to come and go as we wanted. Didn't touch the car during the trip. We could have stayed in a hotel which would have been closer, maybe. The 15mins walk was great for us as we wanted the exercise after all the extra eating and drinking!
