Located at the canal called De Kostverlorenvaart you can see all kinds of boats passing by all day. The old historical centre, with its canals, museums, de Dam Square, the Jordaan and the Vondelpark are all in walking distance. If you don't feel like walking, you can hop on the tram that stops in front of the building. It will take you to Dam Square in 5 minutes (4 stops). There is a daily Dutch street market around the corner, for all your shopping, Also there are many nice restaurants and small café's in this area.
The apartment has been completely renovated recently. It has a nice and quiet bedroom, with a fine box spring bed. In th...e living room there is a sofa that can also be used as a bed. There is an open kitchen from which you have a wonderful view over de Kostverlorenvaart! Furthermore there is plenty information about things to do in Amsterdam available in the apartment, and also city and public transport maps.
A passe-partout for most of the museums is available, for a small fee, including the van Gogh, Rijksmuseum, Stedelijk museum and Anna Frank house and 30 other museums.
When the weather and my time permit it, I can take you on a private canal tour on my boat if you feel like it. Check out the picture, that's me on the boat.
The guest has free access to the whole apartment. Even better, I am not there, so the whole place is yours for the duration of your stay. I will personally greet you in the apartment to explain some of the details and answer your questions about where to go in and around Amsterdam.
During your stay I can be contacted via email, phone and whatsapp at any time for your questions.
Once your stay is over I will take about 15 minutes of your time to say goodbye and talk about your adventures in and around town.
The living room and open kitchen are ingeniously combined and divided by the buffet. There is a library available with books, music, DVD's and board games. I want to direct your attention to the film "the new wilderness" about Dutch nature at the roughest and the biggest herd of horses in Europe, filmed just 35 km away from Amsterdam.
In the kitchen is coffee and thee freely available. The kitchen is fully equipped with spices, oil, sprinkles and other sweets for on your sandwich. The kitchen consists of a microwave/oven, a gas cooker equipped with a wok burner, a refrigerator (with inside a small surprise for my guests) with a small freezer for your ice cubs.
In the bathroom you will find shampoo, shower gel and body lotion. Furthermore is there also a small hair-dryer. Next to the box spring bed, with fresh sheets, 2 towels and a wash cloth a person, the bedroom has also an electric iron with a small ironing board.
For your safety a fire extinguisher and a fire blanket are in the hallway, a first aid kit is present in the bath room. The fire escape is one step away from the front door.
The house rules are simple: don't do what you wouldn't do at home. Think about our neighbours, they are living there! And one more thing: smoking is not allowed!!
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Looking forward to having you.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 day stay in Fran's lovely apartment. It's bright with a lively canal view and within walking distance of many of Amsterdam's sites. Frans himself is a great host - personable and responsive. One our best airbnb experiences to date.

First of all, Frans is a great person and wonderful host. Not only did we enjoy getting to know Frans, his helpfulness upon our arrival was essential for a smooth transition and understanding of the neighborhood, getting around Amsterdam, and The Netherlands in general. The apartment is perfectly located - a lively neighborhood close to central Amsterdam, (but not *too* close so is removed from the hustle-bustle). Also convenient to the Museum Quarter. The tram is right in front of building with 3 lines that will take you almost any direction you need to go. The apartment itself is beautifully renovated, decorated, clean, and nicely appointed. The view of the canal adds to the charm. We felt very at home and yet at the same time, knew we were in a special place on a special holiday. Thank you Frans. We look forward to another stay at some point again in the future!

Frans has very nice cosy apartment with great saloon and kitchen with lovely views. It's located just few min cycling from the centre and it's close to some awesome local bars :). The flat itself is very bright clean and has all essential equipement you'd need. Across the street there is fantastic small caffee/restaurant serving yummy breakfast... and all day meals. In trems of host - Frans he is very informative supportive and responsive. We had a small issue with keys - which was sorted by him in 20 min :). I'd definitely reccomend this place for anybody to chill out.Read more
