This apartment is located on the Singel Canal, one of the main canals in the World Heritage listed Central Canal Belt. The canal belt is well known for its stunning 17th century canal houses built by wealthy merchants during the Dutch Golden Age. Today many of these canal houses remain almost exactly as they were during this period, while others have been converted in Museums, bars, restaurants, cafes, shops and offices. Museum Van Loon provides an amazing insight into how the wealthy merchants lived during this period, as the building and interior have been extremely well preserved. The apartment is just a short walk from Dam Square, the centre of old Amsterdam and home to the stunning Royal Palace, Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, the New Church and De Bijenkorf Department Store. If you are looking for boutique shopping and charming cafes, make sure you head to the Nine Streets and spend some time wandering around. The location of the apartment really is second to none, with many of the sights Amsterdam has to offer just a short walk away. For those places further afield, the apartment is also well serviced by public transport.

Beautiful apartment, had everything that you would require. Lovely people who helped us with baggage (we had a lot) where to eat & go. Located on one of the most beautiful canals, right in the middle of the Jordaan district , 9 streets shopping, excellent restaurants, less than 10 minute walk to centre of town. Was just a fantastic way to start our holiday throughout Europe !!! It's a must if you don't want that hotel holiday. Wonderful!!!

This is a beautiful apartment, very clean and comfortable and in a gorgeous location. If you travel to this apartment take the train from Schipol to the central station and from the station there is a tram, very frequent, that brings you within a one minute walk. When we contacted the host and said we were travelling by train from the airport we were told to walk from the station in 10-15 minutes - I would say it was at least 20 minutes on uneven pavements with luggage - would not recommend! On the website the only option that was put forward was to take a 55 euro Rolls Royce transfer! Train from Schilpol, 3.60 euro, tram 2.60 - no comparison, and both services are quick and frequent. On arrival our host asked us about our departure, when we said we had a late flight we were advised a late check out would be possible if the apartment was not booked, but she did not tell us there would be a charge.. We did check out about an hour and a half after the normal check out and the host was obviously annoyed by this, we felt once we had paid our money and the rental was over she felt no need to be polite or friendly anymore. This was only a minor complaint but it would make me less likely to recommend this apartment to a friend and it did leave a little bit of a sour note at the end of our stay. Also on departure we asked our host how to purchase tram tickets and he could not advise us - I think someone renting an apartment to tourists should be able to advise guests on issues like this. Overall we had a good experience, and amsterdam was wonderful, would definitely return, but not to this apartment!

The flat is super nice in a very good location over looking the Singel canal. The check in was smooth and the owners were very nice and helpful. The apartment is in very good condition nad has everything you need. The only think that was not as planned was the the previous renters had been smoking even though there are big signs saying smoking not allowed. Not much to do and the owners really apologized. Our daughter has a little astma and was a little bothered but after a couple of days the smell started to fade away. The overall impression is great and I can only recommend it highly.

Lovely apartment for two couples. Two flights of steep stairs so be prepared with the bags! Close to the tram. We were able to walk to most venues. The owners live on site in another apartment & they couldn't do enough for us.

We spent three night over December at the Singel apartment. The owners were very kind and absolutely helpful, our luggage was delayed and they tried to help us, even offered us to take us to the airport to look for the luggage. The apartment was spotless clean, spacious and more equipped that we wished for. The owners also made sure that basic cooking supplies were available. The location is excellent, close to all tourist attractions but in a quiet area along the most beautiful canal, and the apartment windows have a stunning view. We will definitely go back to amsterdam and stay at Singel again.

The apartment itself was clean and nice. Ideal location and nice view on the canal from both floors. Such a steep stair to go up!!! The owner was also very kind.
