      Beautiful vacation house

Left on 08/02/2012 for a stay in July 2012

We had an awesome time at the Lakeview lodge. It has a nice big deck with lots of chairs for everyone to sit and enjoy the view. The house was so roomy with our 9 adults of extended family. The bedrooms had comfortable beds and nice big closets. The game room in the basement was great . The washer and dryer were handy to have. It was nice to be on the end by the woods,so peaceful. We would definately go back!
Mountain home staff was very helpful if we had any questions, they were just a phone call away.

      Just OK

Left on 08/31/2010 for a stay in August 2010

The experience was less than expected. There was only enough dish washing soap for one day. There was also only one trash bag. The biggest think that we found were two large rats in the grill. They were alive and ran off, but it was still hard to make myself cook anything on the grill.

      Super sunsets

Left on 07/14/2009 for a stay in June 2009

Our stay at this home was very comfortable and we truly enjoyed our time here. The best part was looking out the living room in the evenings at the beautiful sunsets beyond the lake and mountains. It was the best ending of every evening. The games and ping pong table were quite a hit, also. I was also pleasantly suprised at the comfort of the bed we slept in. Usually stays away from home are not very good when it comes to sleeping on strange beds, but I slept great. Thanks for a nice time.

      mishaps and recovery

Left on 05/07/2009 for a stay in December 2008

We rented a home in Georgetown Lake area near Disovery Ski area. It was Christmas Day and bitter cold. We packed for our four day stay for the six family members. We were so excited! We, the parents from Michigan, rented this as a present to our daughters and mates so we could spend that quality time we so miss. We headed out from Missoula where the girls live.
It was about 4pm and we arrived pleasantly surprised that the house was so lovely from the outside. We started emptying the trucks and unlock the doors. The lock box would not work. We all had frozen fingers from trying. I called the emergency number as instructed, but it was Christmas Day! No answer. We sat there for about an hour and saw that the winter storm was coming. We had to leave and find a place to stay the night in Phillipsburg. It was a tricky ride down the slippery road. We tried the hotel but no room. We found the motel down the road. They were very welcoming. Again we unpacked and had to bring in food and supplies. We were starving so we had a very small stove and we had our Christmas dinner on the nightstands between the beds. Actually, it was a new experience and being together there was still the best.
About 10pm the phone rang. A very timid voice began to apologize . We all listened and tried to figure out what to do. Finally we discovered that your team had given us the wrong combination to the box. So, she called the motel and paid our will for the night and also deducted the nights stay at the house. We were satisfied that this was a sincere effort to makeup for their error.

In the morning we headed back with the new combination. Excited again. Not for long. It would still not work. Another phone call and it was determined that the owner was going to have to bring a key. So, about 30 minutes in the trucks again, a car comes screaming up the drive. He was not happy to have to make the trip and figured we were all incapable of following simple directions. Well,he had no luck.

Left on 05/07/2009 for a stay in December 2007

We stayed in the Lake View home for two years in a row over the Christmas/New Years Holiday. Our family enjoyed the beautiful home, space and surrounding area. With Discovery Ski area up the road it's the perfect winter get-away.

      Great Views, Great Location

Left on 05/07/2009 for a stay in December 2007

We stayed for a week and celebrated Christmas at this wonderful mountain house. Nine of us total: 2 families with a total of 5 young kids.

The three queen bedrooms were large and had nice "cabin" furniture. The loft, while ready for sleeping, was not necessarily ideal for kids because of the noise from the great room below. We ended up putting most of the kids in the basement family room in sleeping bags. That room is absolutely enormous and has a ping pong table and a television. The noise from the great room above wasn't a problem there (the youngest child was only 2-1/2 so needed to go to bed early).

Also downstairs was a very nice mud room with a drain in the floor (great for all our snow covered clothes & boots). The skiing at Discovery (an incredibly beautiful and short drive from the house) was fabulous. No lift lines, very affordable, just perfect.

The kitchen was well stocked. The utility room with W/D was big, a great place for our many suitcases.

The fireplace was stunning. The dining room table was very large and nice (8 chairs I think - not quite big enough for 10 people).

House feels very private; cannot see other houses (even though they are nearby).

Overall a really special place to spend a vacation. For six people it is perfect, would feel huge. But larger groups (like our nine) can certainly have a great visit.

Wonderful home - A Montana dream

Left on 04/25/2009 for a stay in July 2008

This home is a fantastic place. We spent a wonderful week here with our travelling companions from Sweden. We were six people in our party and there was more than enough space for all of us. Everything was in order when we came - nice and clean.

Every day we drove to nearby sights, such as Philipsburg, Granite Ghost town, the sapphire mines, Anaconda and Bannack Ghost town.
After a long day it was great to arrive back in the house, cook dinner and relax on the porch.
The house is overlooking Georgetown Lake and from the porch we could see wonderful sunsets at night. Unfortunately we didn?t find a good spot for swimming in the lake, but maybe we didn?t look in the right places.
Several nights we experienced bald headed eagles and American eagles hovering over the house. The eagles were so close. I think we counted to more than five eagles one night - We got great pictures!

We recommend this home with our hearts. It was the best stay ever in Montana. I?m sure we?ll be back one day.
We will have no problem with contacting Vacation Home Rentals again. The fantastic service we got, calling and mailing from Sweden, made it real easy to decide where to go.

      Enjoy!
