The Flamingo unit at the Blue Dolphin Inn, located at 780 Jacaranda in the Historic Village of Anna Maria is a wonderful and spacious three bedroom, two bath upstairs unit furnished in a tropical theme. The Blue Dolphin Inn consists of four units surrounding a free style heated pool with fountains and nearby tiki table. The Blue Dolphin Inn is located about one half block from the beach access path and it's just a short stroll to the Rod and Reel Pier for fishing enthusiasts. Very clean place with all the necessity of home. Centrally located, very quiet accomadation. Mostly sat and swimmed at the pool area.

The house was awesome!! The pool was a plus,the kids loved it! The beach was a short walk away, we had a great vacation!

We had spent a week on Siesta Key, and now were heading to anna Maria Island and the Blue Dolphin Flamingo for our second week away from the cold. The Flamingo was the perfect recipe for rest, relaxation and revitalization. It is not far from the north end of anna Maria Island, called Bean Point, where the gulf meets the bay. Very secluded and wonderfully wide open spaces and great times spent with my wife and grandson. We rented bikes for the week and enjoyed riding them to Ginny and Jane E's for muffins, or to the Tiki Bar with grandson Sam in his trailer behind my bike. We could also walk around 3 blocks to the Rod and Reel Pier, where you could find good food and fishing. Further down the bay, a nice park to bring my 4 year old grandson. The Flamingo itself had a nice screened porch, which served as sort of a buffer between the sandy outside and the living area. I also enjoyed just reading out there in the peacefull treehouse feel. Inside was perfect for us, nothing fancy but very comfy. Three nice bedrooms, and fun escapes and decks to overlook the pool. The pool was nice and warm and we enjoyed it a few times. All in all, it was a slice of paradise for us and we plan on coming back again some day when we visit my daughter and grandson in the winter.

The home was lovely and comfortable.It's a brief walk to the beach-about 2 blocks. The beach, of course, is gorgeous. We saw dolphins and manatees and hundreds of sand dollars. It's worth renting a kayak for fishing and dolphin watching. Beautiful shells and clear water. There's not really much in the way of shopping-"the pier" is disappointing. The house was stocked with books and movies for a raing day. The only "problem" with the house is that the air conditioning seemed unbalanced-some people froze and some were hot, depending on the room they were in. It was most relaxing and we would go back.

I rented both the Flamingo and Ibis units for my family. My daughter chose anna Maria Island for her "destination wedding", and we needed a place large enough for everyone to stay. This was the perfect place! There are "nooks and crannies" everywhere, both inside and out, that we were never "on top" of one another! The pool, the hammock, the lush foliage, the "most wonderful enclosed porch I've ever seen", and of course the beautiful beach was only a few minutes away. I liked the fact the north end of the island is residential, not commercial, but island shopping is within walking distance.
My vacation (and the wedding) was inconvenienced by Tropical storm Debby. She made life hectic for a few days, to say the least. What she didn't do was dampen our vacation spirit. The enclosed porch was the perfect spot to relax, watch the weather, and enjoy some great family time!
There is not a bad story to be told about our stay. We didn't want for anything.
My "technology-dependent" children had some difficulty getting phone reception...usually remedied by going upstairs to the "phone booth"...aka the lookout...but, my vacation goal was (1) wedding, and (2) relax. No phone required here!
