Very pleasant trip. The house was perfect for what we needed. We had four adults and three kids. The upstairs room with two bunk beds was perfect, however keep in mind there is no door to this room, but was not an issue for us whatsoever. The location is perfect, right on the canal and had a pool. The house is neatly decorated and kitchen is very upscale.

FloridaBeautiful setting, nice home but poorly maintained.
Left on 10/04/2011 for a stay in September 2011
The setting of this home is just beautiful and it is clear that early on it was what I would consider a "luxury" rental. Unfortunately, the home is not being maintained in such a way to qualify as a "luxury" rental. The carpets and upholstery are worn and smell bad. All linens are worn badly and most need to be replaced. The dock is in very bad repair and is a safety hazard. On the otherhand, the kitchen was really nice, stocked adequately and the screened in porch made our experience.

Thank you very much for your feedback on your stay at Plumfish. Maintenance of our homes is of the utmost importance to ensure that our rentals offer the highest standards of luxury for our guests to enjoy.
Plumfish was only opened late 2009, and all the furniture, carpets and furnishings were personally handpicked, new, by us at that time, so we are disappointed that you felt some things are worn to such a low standard. We use many of the same or similar furnishings across all our homes, and have not received any feedback of this kind to date. Our carpets and upholstery are regularly steam cleaned, and we do not allow pets in our homes, because we recognize that this can cause bad odors on upholstery and carpets.
We will of course be looking into this matter immediately and making any necessary replacements to ensure that the standard of Plumfish is maintained as it should be and as are all our other Pineapplefish homes.
Thank you again, for your time, and for bringing this matter to our attention. I do hope that we will be able to welcome you back to Anna Maria Island and our Pineapplefish homes. -

We really enjoyed our stay at this house. We stayed with my brother and his family and all the kids (3) had a graat time staying in the loft bedroom. The kitchen was fantastic, a real treat and we loved spending time on the covered porch.
The pool was very nice too, we stayed at other houses and the pools were always too warm to swim in but this one was great. Overall, this was the best place we have stayed at thus far on the island. -

I stayed at Plumfish with my husband and 18 month old. The villa was lovely and perfect for us. The pool was fab, perfect temperature and we loved all the little lizards who came and see us swimming. Loved the outside living space and the little dock. Would have liked to have had the cots and gates as part of the rental and the air conditioning was very noisy but have left a comment on that so hopefully that will be fixed. Overall would definately recommend this and look forward to going back to aMI and trying another villa!

This was our second trip to the Plumfish house and I'm sure we'll be back. The house is in great condition and is kept very clean (my wife appreciates this very much). The location on the canal is great since we rent a kayak and take daily paddles. The pool was well used this time by our kids. Overall a very relaxing and enjoyable vacation home.

Enjoyed Plumfish very much. The accommadations were great. There were only four of us but if there had been six (which is how the house is billed), there should be a bigger kitchen table and more chairs. Also a coffee table in the living room would have been nice.
My wife thought the kitchen was super, although lacking a new teflon frying pan.
We enjoyed very much the screened deck, sitting by the channel, and the pool.
We did encounter minor (could be serious) accidents (which I reported to Sato). I tripped at the stair landing coming upstairs onto the living level of the house. A few days later my wife did the same thing. Because of this, I measured the height of the last step to the landing only to find that it is more than an inch higher than all the others. (The first step at the bottom is an inch shorter. I'm assuming this will be corrected. -

Great house. great location Love anna Maria !
This house was perfwct for us, a couple of teenagers, their parents and one set of grandparents. We all had an awesome time. Best thing we can say is that we rented it again for next year!
Now it wasn't perfect, The cleaning crew only did a so=so job, But we spoke with Sato Rentals about that and believe that it is being addressed. They should have more than one spare roll of TP as well...Response from Pineapplefish Luxury Villas - 04/11/2011

Delighted that you had a great time at Plumfish, we love it's location too! Thank you for your feedback, we know Sato are already in discussion with the cleaners and we will be keeping a close eye on these improvements to make sure the cleaning is always at the standard it should be!
Look forward to seeing you again next year! Thank you so much for choosing us again. -

Left on 03/20/2011 for a stay in February 2011
We spent a week at Plumfish in February. The house is perfect for a small family, and we really enjoyed the location and amenities. We found the house very comfortable, with plenty of space for our little one to explore (although had to be creative about blocking off the stairs from the main level to the exit). Anna Maria Island is a great spot for families and the weather in February was perfect.

Our stay at Plumfish was perfect. I am almost loathe to give a favorable review for fear this gorgeous, perfectly-located, tastefully decorated house will be all booked up for our future trips.
This house, while modest looking from the outside, feels like a dream when you emerge onto the main living space. The expansive and verdant view from the many windows, the cheerful Fiesta Ware dishes, the well-equipped, spacious kitchen, the simple, colorful and comfortable furnishings, the lovely linens and comfortable beds, the open and intelligently-designed floor plan and the enormous screened in porch combine to make you feel ensconced in paradise.
And then there is the outside. The pool, while small, is warm and lovely. But our favorite feature was the dock. We rented kayaks and subsequently paddled to the beach each day, right from our house. We found sea stars under the dock, caught Red Drum and Pinfish and delighted, day and night with the wild spectacle of thousands of Mullet leaping joyfully out of the water, almost landing, several times in our boats or on the dock!
The only part that might prove difficult for other families is that the upstairs bunk room, while very appealing for kids, has no door and therefore the sounds in the living space, readily flow right upstairs. However, our kids are very heavy sleepers and this did not impact our stay at all.
There is a serenity about this property that is not conveyed in the photos. The owners clearly care about making the stay feel special. We will definitely return. -

Having not been to anna maria island before, we were a bit nervous about what we might find, and whether 'Plumfish' would be as lovely as it looks on the website. It was. Fabulous location - we could walk to the gorgeous beach, to the playground, to a great breakfast spot (Rod and reel). The house itself was really well-equipped and we loved the huge outdoor area which overlooks the canal - and my husband particularly enjoyed fishing from his own private pier. Pool wasn't big enough for proper lengths swimming, but great for cooling off and perfect for kids. To be honest, and i know i sound like an advert for the place, but really, everything was really clean, new and designed to make your holiday as easy as possible (very important when you have two small children). My only possible slight negative was the stairs, it's worth thinking about hiring stairgates if you have crawling children. We improvised by shifting furniture a bit! The hired childrens equipment (cots, high chairs etc) itself and the people at beach bums are brilliant, as were sato staff, particularly when we had to stay an extra, unplanned week. This isn't the cheapest place to hire, in fact, in peak season they are pretty pricey, but i suppose that's because the house is brilliantly 'done', in beachy, fun but functional style and totally equipped, with all mod-cons, and really, we absolutely loved it and i hope we'll be going back again before too long.

This vacation ranks right up at the top of the many we've taken. This is truly a paradise that we are so thankful we found. From our beautiful rental home, to the many bike rides we took, to the beautiful beaches and colorful water, why would we ever want to go anywhere else?

We spent two weeks at Plumfish in august and enjoyed almost every minute. The house is bright, inviting, well equipped and comfortable with a gorgeous kitchen, and the view from the verandah is stunning. We enjoyed cycling round the island, swimming in the bay and wandering down to the two piers just a few minutes walk away. Any queries were dealt with at once by Sato. Our only quibble: the bedroom in the roof is very comfortable but much too hot.

Our family enjoyed our week at Plumfish. The house is delightful, filled with fun colors and beachy furniture and accessories. Very comfortable! We swam in the pool every day and fished off the dock. We especially liked spending time on the screened porch, including watching fireworks from every direction on July 4th! Quiet, private yard. Nature & wildlife to view in the canal. Short drive or walk to gulf beach, walk to Tampa Bay and park/pier. The representatives at Sato Properties were very professional and nice to work with! We hope to stay at Plumfish again in the future.
