Pineapplefish are also passionate about energy efficiency in their homes. Plumfish is one of 4 villas within the Pineapplefish collection (Berryfish, Limefish and Honeyfish), that has recently undergone extensive installation of Photovoltaic (PV) solar panels for electricity generation and hot water heaters. One of the biggest renewable energy installations on Anna Maria Island, the solar PV panels on the roof feed electricity back into the house and the hot water generator - a 'black box' which sit on the roof - absorbs the heat of the sun, and then feeds it back into the domestic hot water tank. A perfect vacation rental supporting green energy in Florida!
Plumfish is a wonderful family home, perfectly located to enjoy all that Anna Maria Island has to offer.

Four phrases that would describe Plumfish are "very private and quiet" "extremely clean" "spacious and well decorated" and "convenient location" We enjoyed the heated pool and scenic dock. We were impressed with the great kitchen and bathrooms. We liked Plumfish so much we've already made arrangements to return next year.
Every amenity plus a view

The management company was very accommodating and responsive from the reservation period and during our stay. Our favorite features of the houses were: the large screened in porch with dining table and lounge chairs, the kitchen was loaded with top-of-the-line equipment and loads of storage space and a view that made doing the dishes a pleasure, and a very clean pool nicely landscaped. We rented the house for 3 weeks and the pool and garden were serviced each week. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms new and clean. The bed linens and towels were the only thing below par, worn and shabby, but I was told they were going to be replaced after our stay. The house is at the end of a cup-de-sac street, so it was very quiet, but then all of aMI is quiet.
Fun and comfy

Plumfish was the perfect house for a girls vacation.
The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. Our favorite part of the house was the porch. We loved sitting there and looking at the water and the vegetation.
All in all...perfection.

This was our first stay on anna Maria Island and we very much enjoyed it, particularly the north end of the Island where Plumfish is located. The home was just as advertised. Very nice in all regards. The pool, while not large, was perfectly fine for us. The landscaping was beautiful and created a very lush and private environment. The canal views and fishing from the dock also were very nice. Plumfish is located in close proximity to the beaches, the piers, shopping, restaurants, etc. We walked to all those things and biked everywhere as well. Beachbums, The General Store and Sato Realty were all very user friendly. We know the owners welcome recomendations so we offer only two modest ones. For reasons we couldn't figure out, the large screen TV in the living area had certain channels that did not respond to the volume button on the remote. The other channels worked perfectly, as did the two bedroom TVs. A minor tech glitch, easily fixed I'm sure. Also there is a small metal two or three step ladder at the end of the dock which is rusted and barnacle encrusted. I do not believe it is safely useable and should be replaced. Again, an easy fix but one we would definitely do if we owned this home. We hope to return to Plumfish and would highly recommed it to any of our friends.

We always stay in rental homes across the country, and enjoyed the Plumfish very much! Great secluded location, felt safe for our family,& kids loved the canal setting. Perfect for 1 family with 2 or 3 children or two couples. Because of only 2 bathrooms which are only in bedrooms, makes it alittle hard to have guests over or 2 small families with kids, as they have to go into parents bedrooms? Also would be so nice to have comfotable chairs/ rockers with padding on screen porch as then u could spend time on the beautiful screen porch overlooking canal. The chairs out there now and around pool very uncomfortable :( Would also be nice to be provided with cleaning supplies to be able to keep hse clean throught week. We bought cleaners, sprays, dishsoaps, laundry soap, softner & left at house for the next family . We would love to come back again & stay atPlumfish. Pineaplefish Rental Company great to work with! Thank you so much for your review. We are delighted that you had such a great time, Plumfish does have a fantastic location. We do use a lot of Adirondack chairs in our houses. They are extremely durable, can be kept outdoors, are easy to clean and being very heavy, don't get lost (unfortunately, we have had many instances of outdoor furniture being taken to the beach and left there!). The flat armrests are suitable for setting food and drinks on too, which we often find guests find quite convenient.
And, we are sorry that you were unable to find any cleaning products. We do have cleaning products in each of the houses, and replace them when empty, but it seems it may have been missed here in this instance. Our management agents Sato are always on hand and would have come over with some replacements, but we realize from your note that we need to make guests aware that they should be there!!
Thank you so much for choosing to stay with us, and we hope we can welcome your family back again for your next vacation! Warm regards.

This was our fifth time vacation on the island, however our first time staying in Plumfish. I would like compliment Sato Real Estate with the service provide. We have used many of the rental agencies on the Island and Sato has that personal touch that the others have seem to have forgotten. Plumfish is a great house. It is decorated colorfully and comfortable. If you like to cook the kitchen is awesome. It was well stocked and a joy to cook in. A set of pyrex baking dishes would be a welcome addition though. The pool was clean and enjoyed every afternoon. There are two items that I would like to draw to your attention. In the King room the sheets had a quarter sized old blood stain. You could tell that it was washed and put back on the bed. No way it could have been overlooked. We travel with our own sheets so we were prepared. I would check quality control with your cleaning staff. The air condition needs to be addressed. It works great and the whole house is cool. However, it vibrates the refrigerator, kitchen stove, master bed and floor. In the guest book this problem is mention several times. It became an issue mostly at night when we were trying to sleep. If I was to stay in Plumfish again I would inquire to see if this problem had been addressed. The only other comment I have is about the inside dinning table. The house sleeps 8. The inside table seats 4. The table on the deck seats 6. Sometimes its just to hot to sit outside. I would suggest a similar table with a drop leaf and couple extra chairs for inside dinning. Just a thought. Please understand we enjoyed our stay very much. Most companies dont ask for reviews and if these items were addressed Plumfish would be that much better. Read more

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are always very keen to get reviews from our guests, to ensure that we can maintain our high standards and address any issues, so that all our guests have a great time with us.
The bedroom sheet you mentioned has since been replaced of course, and we are sorry that you found it in this condition. We are also looking at the air conditioning as part of our annual review as we come out of season, and do take on board your comments regarding the seating arrangements for larger parties and how we can address this.
We do hope that we can welcome you back to Plumfish. Please do call our office and chat through these issues you have raised, and we hope that we will have been able to address them suitably for you to want to return.
Thank you again for your time in reviewing Plumfish, it is very much appreciated. Best wishes from the Pineapplefish!

Very pleasant trip. The house was perfect for what we needed. We had four adults and three kids. The upstairs room with two bunk beds was perfect, however keep in mind there is no door to this room, but was not an issue for us whatsoever. The location is perfect, right on the canal and had a pool. The house is neatly decorated and kitchen is very upscale.
Beautiful setting, nice home but poorly maintained.

The setting of this home is just beautiful and it is clear that early on it was what I would consider a "luxury" rental. Unfortunately, the home is not being maintained in such a way to qualify as a "luxury" rental. The carpets and upholstery are worn and smell bad. All linens are worn badly and most need to be replaced. The dock is in very bad repair and is a safety hazard. On the otherhand, the kitchen was really nice, stocked adequately and the screened in porch made our experience. Read more

Thank you very much for your feedback on your stay at Plumfish. Maintenance of our homes is of the utmost importance to ensure that our rentals offer the highest standards of luxury for our guests to enjoy.
Plumfish was only opened late 2009, and all the furniture, carpets and furnishings were personally handpicked, new, by us at that time, so we are disappointed that you felt some things are worn to such a low standard. We use many of the same or similar furnishings across all our homes, and have not received any feedback of this kind to date. Our carpets and upholstery are regularly steam cleaned, and we do not allow pets in our homes, because we recognize that this can cause bad odors on upholstery and carpets.
We will of course be looking into this matter immediately and making any necessary replacements to ensure that the standard of Plumfish is maintained as it should be and as are all our other Pineapplefish homes.
Thank you again, for your time, and for bringing this matter to our attention. I do hope that we will be able to welcome you back to Anna Maria Island and our Pineapplefish homes.

We really enjoyed our stay at this house. We stayed with my brother and his family and all the kids (3) had a graat time staying in the loft bedroom. The kitchen was fantastic, a real treat and we loved spending time on the covered porch.
The pool was very nice too, we stayed at other houses and the pools were always too warm to swim in but this one was great. Overall, this was the best place we have stayed at thus far on the island.

I stayed at Plumfish with my husband and 18 month old. The villa was lovely and perfect for us. The pool was fab, perfect temperature and we loved all the little lizards who came and see us swimming. Loved the outside living space and the little dock. Would have liked to have had the cots and gates as part of the rental and the air conditioning was very noisy but have left a comment on that so hopefully that will be fixed. Overall would definately recommend this and look forward to going back to aMI and trying another villa!

This was our second trip to the Plumfish house and I'm sure we'll be back. The house is in great condition and is kept very clean (my wife appreciates this very much). The location on the canal is great since we rent a kayak and take daily paddles. The pool was well used this time by our kids. Overall a very relaxing and enjoyable vacation home.

Enjoyed Plumfish very much. The accommadations were great. There were only four of us but if there had been six (which is how the house is billed), there should be a bigger kitchen table and more chairs. Also a coffee table in the living room would have been nice.
My wife thought the kitchen was super, although lacking a new teflon frying pan.
We enjoyed very much the screened deck, sitting by the channel, and the pool.
We did encounter minor (could be serious) accidents (which I reported to Sato). I tripped at the stair landing coming upstairs onto the living level of the house. A few days later my wife did the same thing. Because of this, I measured the height of the last step to the landing only to find that it is more than an inch higher than all the others. (The first step at the bottom is an inch shorter. I'm assuming this will be corrected.

This house was perfwct for us, a couple of teenagers, their parents and one set of grandparents. We all had an awesome time. Best thing we can say is that we rented it again for next year!
Now it wasn't perfect, The cleaning crew only did a so=so job, But we spoke with Sato Rentals about that and believe that it is being addressed. They should have more than one spare roll of TP as well... Read more

We spent a week at Plumfish in February. The house is perfect for a small family, and we really enjoyed the location and amenities. We found the house very comfortable, with plenty of space for our little one to explore (although had to be creative about blocking off the stairs from the main level to the exit). Anna Maria Island is a great spot for families and the weather in February was perfect.

Our stay at Plumfish was perfect. I am almost loathe to give a favorable review for fear this gorgeous, perfectly-located, tastefully decorated house will be all booked up for our future trips.
This house, while modest looking from the outside, feels like a dream when you emerge onto the main living space. The expansive and verdant view from the many windows, the cheerful Fiesta Ware dishes, the well-equipped, spacious kitchen, the simple, colorful and comfortable furnishings, the lovely linens and comfortable beds, the open and intelligently-designed floor plan and the enormous screened in porch combine to make you feel ensconced in paradise.
And then there is the outside. The pool, while small, is warm and lovely. But our favorite feature was the dock. We rented kayaks and subsequently paddled to the beach each day, right from our house. We found sea stars under the dock, caught Red Drum and Pinfish and delighted, day and night with the wild spectacle of thousands of Mullet leaping joyfully out of the water, almost landing, several times in our boats or on the dock!
The only part that might prove difficult for other families is that the upstairs bunk room, while very appealing for kids, has no door and therefore the sounds in the living space, readily flow right upstairs. However, our kids are very heavy sleepers and this did not impact our stay at all.
There is a serenity about this property that is not conveyed in the photos. The owners clearly care about making the stay feel special. We will definitely return.

Having not been to anna maria island before, we were a bit nervous about what we might find, and whether 'Plumfish' would be as lovely as it looks on the website. It was. Fabulous location - we could walk to the gorgeous beach, to the playground, to a great breakfast spot (Rod and reel). The house itself was really well-equipped and we loved the huge outdoor area which overlooks the canal - and my husband particularly enjoyed fishing from his own private pier. Pool wasn't big enough for proper lengths swimming, but great for cooling off and perfect for kids. To be honest, and i know i sound like an advert for the place, but really, everything was really clean, new and designed to make your holiday as easy as possible (very important when you have two small children). My only possible slight negative was the stairs, it's worth thinking about hiring stairgates if you have crawling children. We improvised by shifting furniture a bit! The hired childrens equipment (cots, high chairs etc) itself and the people at beach bums are brilliant, as were sato staff, particularly when we had to stay an extra, unplanned week. This isn't the cheapest place to hire, in fact, in peak season they are pretty pricey, but i suppose that's because the house is brilliantly 'done', in beachy, fun but functional style and totally equipped, with all mod-cons, and really, we absolutely loved it and i hope we'll be going back again before too long. We spent two weeks at Plumfish in august and enjoyed almost every minute. The house is bright, inviting, well equipped and comfortable with a gorgeous kitchen, and the view from the verandah is stunning. We enjoyed cycling round the island, swimming in the bay and wandering down to the two piers just a few minutes walk away. Any queries were dealt with at once by Sato. Our only quibble: the bedroom in the roof is very comfortable but much too hot.

Our family enjoyed our week at Plumfish. The house is delightful, filled with fun colors and beachy furniture and accessories. Very comfortable! We swam in the pool every day and fished off the dock. We especially liked spending time on the screened porch, including watching fireworks from every direction on July 4th! Quiet, private yard. Nature & wildlife to view in the canal. Short drive or walk to gulf beach, walk to Tampa Bay and park/pier. The representatives at Sato Properties were very professional and nice to work with!
