Traumhaftes Beach-Haus. Wir haben gestaunt und wollten gar nicht mehr abreisen! Delfine, Manatees und Schildkröten gesehen. Sehr liebevoll eingerichtet - ein richtiges Bijou...

Left on 04/08/2010 for a stay in January 2009

The cottage was beautiful and charming. Had everything we needed, including heat, since we were there during record cold temperatures. The location with views of the dunes and the ocean made up for the weather. Definitely would go back.

      Perfection

Left on 02/17/2010 for a stay in September 2009

The standard of service was as usual 100% - no
      change there!
We change the venue every year, but always on the
      north end of the Island.
12108 Gulf Drive was perfection for my wife and I
as she is very fussy about cleanliness and decor,
and this place ticked all the boxes
The situation of the bungalow was ideal, right on
the beach but not overlooked. Within easy walking
distance of the local shops and resturants.
I lost count of the sunsets we watched at the
Sandbar Resturant ( every evening I think!!)
Perfect for two people.OK for four, but a bit too
      cosy for any more!!
      Expensive but worth it!!!

Fanatastic Experience, perfect for our family of four! Just walk out the door and you are basically on the beach. Great sunsets...

We will definitely try to come back!

The rental had everything we needed and was super-clean...

If there is one thing that would it more perfect, it would be a tub in the bathroom...

WONDERFUL ISLAND, WONDERFUL HOUSE, WONDERFUL LOCATION

Left on 12/05/2009 for a stay in July 2009

We didn't have to travel far (from Matlacha) to find a great place to vacation. The house is located just a few steps from the beach but has a nice privacy dune that separates it from it. Beautifully furnished (could use a better equipped kitchen tho)house. The thermostat, however, frustrated us a bit since we were not able to lower the temp in the house during the heat of the day. Got cold at night so a more easily adjusted temp would be good.

We've rented dozens of beach houses over the last 30 years and this was one of the nicest. Loved the location and the friendly island. We'd love to return!

      Beautiful property, but...

Left on 11/19/2009 for a stay in August 2009

This is a beautiful property, quiet and comfortable. Beautiful views of the Gulf and close to stores and restaurants.
The rental was not clean to our standards. Whoever received payment for cleaning the place prior to our arrival should give back half the money!
My wife had to clean the place as soon as we moved in. Also, the door lock was broken and gave us problems the entire week. But, in spite of this we would probably rent this place again.

      House on the beach

Left on 10/08/2009 for a stay in April 2009

The location was breathtaking, directly on the gulf with fantastic views from the cottage. The exterior is so deceptive, as the interior of the cottage was luxurious from the ever so soft sheets to the throws on every chair to the attention to details like the telescope in the dining room and games in every drawer. We especially liked the internet access, and printer and fax in the room even though no one worked the whole time. Sand toys, beach chairs and countless other little niceties made our stay special. The only drawback to the whole week was the unbelievable spring break traffic on the island.

      Wonderful Ocean Views; Wonderful Sunsets

Left on 04/24/2009 for a stay in December 2008

We wanted direct access to the ocean and this cottage was not only steps away, but also had a panoramic picture window at the end of the great room overlooking the ocean, complete with a telescpe to watch the dolphins. The cottage was charming, very well maintained, and had amenities that were a cut above anything we would have expected. It was far more spacious and comfortable than a hotel room and more economical because the fully equipped kitchen enabled us to enjoy many meals "at home." The sunsets were incredible.

With two bedrooms and a large great room, and laundry facilities on-site, this house would be perfect for a family or for an extended stay for a couple who want to escape winter for several weeks. We would definiely book this cottage again.

Wonderful cabin, not dog friendly beach

Left on 03/17/2009 for a stay in December 2008

This is one of the best locations and home we have rented, in years of renting around the country. The cabin was beautiful and the location gorgeous. We took our three dogs and they also loved the place, but the beach at the cabin´s door is NOT dog friendly. We drove to the dog friendly beach nearby and it was not nearly as nice and so close to the highway we would not let the dogs run off leash for a minute.
We highly recommend this rental, beautiful, clean and romantic!

Left on 03/16/2009 for a stay in January 2009

A great place to relax. Well appointed with a great kitchen. Pleased to have such a nice rental be pet friendly as well. The only thing we thought the place lacked was a bigger bathroom with a tub. Otherwise it's perfect.

      Great View

Left on 07/31/2008 for a stay in July 2008

The house was beautiful, and the view was gorgeous. The walk to the beach was further than we expected. We did enjoy the large screen TV. It was stated in the rental agreement that they would provide an add'l toilet paper, paper towels, plastic bags, etc., but could not find any. The house was still dusty and we didn't feel that it was cleaned properly. It was disappointing that there was no TV in the master bedroom. There is no screened lanai or area to really enjoy the beach in the evening. Overall we really enjoyed our time at the beach, but next time we will not rent during July 4th holiday, since the local police ruined our entire July 4th holiday. They rode up and down the beach the entire night with their headlights in our eyes, and we were unable to see any of the fireworks with the constant lights in our eyes. We paid $500 to $600 extra for the 4th of July holiday week, "it was so not worth it". For anybody renting, don't rent on a holiday weekend.

      Beachfront Paradise

Left on 07/25/2008 for a stay in June 2008

My husband and I had a great stay at this secluded little beach cottage. The home is tucked away and was very private. It is not a fancy luxury property which is exactly what we wanted. The view of The Gulf of Mexico is amazing. We hope to return again next year.
