HawaiiBeach is beautiful but basic items missing/ services okay.

Family rented for 2 weeks over Christmas 2011. Home is really old and the bathrooms are terribly small. No vanity at all in either bthrm. No electrical outlet in main bathrm. Tiny tiny second bath. Kitchen appliances in good working order. Heat works well. 3 flatscreen tvs, nice. Complaints:
1. Spent hours getting wireless working/reset since there is very limited at&T; cell signal On north part of island. Rental office was no help/didn't offer any help.
2. 2nd bedrm, front, not equipped. All bedrms need at least one mirror. Especially when the bathrm mirrors are tiny. Was shocked no mirror. A full length mirror would be nice too.
3. Light not working in front bedroom. Office had to come twice to fix and used the bulb in the desk lamp in lr, left no extra bulbs.
4 absolutely nothing stocked for even a day.
5 annoying and wasteful patio spicket water leak that floods patio.
6 would be nice to have an inexpensive thermometer outside.
7 washing machine broke. Office fixed same day so good.

wonderful love the house it was perfect, will rent again.
There was a serious problem though. I got bit by a Brown Recluse Spider in Bed. This was confirmed by my doctor. I appears I did not react badly. But this could be very serious. I slept in front bed room.Response from Island Vacation Properties, LLC - 05/19/2011

Pros - The view, breeze, spacious and practically empty beach. Patio is nice also. Quiet, relaxing area of island.Mattress were relatively new. Plenty of new,fresh, and clean linens. Beach towels available.
Cons - Upon paying $2000 for a one week stay I was disappointed about the following - I know that the elements can "take their toll" on a place at the beach, yet, the unit smelled musty. (perhaps it had been closed for a while) and the screens were quite dusty/dirty. Other unseen areas needed dusted as well. My allergies really kicked up. Lighting was not great and the bathrooms were dated and quite worn. Time to replace. While vegetation around patio offers privacy, it is overgrown. Time to cut back and revove overgrowth-it obscures beach/dune views.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. We will discuss the cleaning issues with housekeeping. The windows and screens were done about two months before your arrival but as you might expect, the sand and the salt do "take their toll". Many of the plants around the patio are protected and we are unable to trim some of them but we will do whatever trimming is required. We will also check out the lighting and increase it if needed. Great layout, perfect distance to the beach, private. Very nice kitchen and patio for grilling if you prefer to cook rather than going out to dinner (which we did every night, no restaurant ambiance could compare to the gulf breeze and sunset at this place). Only complaints: bathrooms only marginally clean, and mattresses were saggy and awful, we both had sore backs by the middle of the week.

TampaQuiet/Secluded Spot on the Beach

We love the am Escape because it is in residential area. It is located on a part of the beach where the view is blocked on the north and south side so you feel secluded. The house is very comfortable and we enjoy the shaded patio. It is missing a view since it is behind some trees and one story. Great for kids!

Stayed on Seista Key several times, kind of Party Atomosphere, Stay @ Escape Very Relaxing & Quiet,yet close to restraunts & sports Equipment i.e. bikes,kyaks etc. Wife & I VERY much enjoyed,

The overall experience was good. We had a lot of fun and loved the beach. The house was spacious but the beds (especially the sofabeds) were extremely uncomfortable. The bathrooms could use some updating as they seemed dirty but it was truly just a sign of their age. We encountered a slight roach problem but was easily taken care of with just one phone call to Island vacation properties. Would I return to Anna Maria Island...absolutely...will I rent this particular home...probably not.

A wonderful house in a beautiful setting. There were 8 women and we had the best time in the house, on the patio and of course on the beach. The house was well equipped and suited us well. The only negative of any importance is the sofa beds were very uncomfortable for all who slept there. I could feel the springs through the mattress.

The Children loved the Beach, and meet very nice American Folks. You can walk miles Southwards but North there is a House on the beach in the way. The property has a spacious Living area with 2 Double Bedrooms, I Wouldn't want to stay there if there was 10 of you as it says in rental advert, Bathrooms are small and Dated. Kitchen is dated and requires attention. Sofa's 3 are tired and sticky. The Patio and BBQ area on the beach side was fantastic. The Property Neighbour who lives on the Island all Year is a Great American Guy and Wife. Never the less apart from expecting a pristine property the stay was pleasant.
The Nearby Beach House Restaurant is Over rated and poor when busy also expensive, Bones Restaurant was Very Poor too.

Our family has stayed at this home( Anna Marie Escape), a couple of times. We've enjoyed it very much.
Set along the northwestern shore, this is a quiet residential neighborhood. There is a wide expanse of sandy beach and you can literally walk along the beach for miles.
The home is situated behind a dune(along the Gulf side),w/mature sea grapes,dune grass and a patio area offering a secluded/peacefull setting.
There are 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and it slept six easily w/the fold outs in the living room.
Practical kitchen and a dining area offering beach/water views. Laundry facilities
All comfortable. Great place, even on a rainy day.

No need to travel to paradise when it is right here in our own backyard. The Escape provided everything we needed and had plenty of room for our family of 6. We already know we'll be coming back to the Escape.
