If you're staying on St. John, we highly recommend Francis Bay Estate. Catered To met us off the ferry and were very accommodating is getting us settled. It's a wonderful location, house and grounds. The kitchen is well equipped and nicely laid out. The dining and living room are attached to the kitchen area and make for a friendly arrangement. The two upstairs bedrooms are in a completely separate building. We didn't need air conditioning in the upper bedrooms during our March stay. There are wonderful views, especially at sunset over Francis Bay from the upper deck. The estate has large bedrooms, very comfortable beds and a nice attached bathroom for each room. There's a very large lower patio deck surrounding the pool and three bedrooms on this level. Two king bedrooms are in the separate building as the two upstairs beds and the twin beds are in the same structures as the main house. The lower level bedrooms didn't appear to receive the same breeze as the upstairs rooms.
There is some traffic noise from cars downshifting to climb the hill on the road adjacent to the house. Francis Bay beach is a very short walk and a great beach. Bring insect repellant as there are no-see-ums that come out at dusk and bite. There are birds that can be annoyance and will snatch food left on an outside table and that do leave bird droppings on the outdoor furniture. Beyond these two very minor points, Francis Bay is staying at your own private resort.
It's about a 25 minute, very scenic drive to town on paved, but very windy roads. Do your grocery shopping before arriving. A 4WD vehicle is recommended. -

The home was beautiful, great location. It was great to have beach chairs and coolers available. The few maintenance issues were quickly addressed and repaired. The staff of Catered was extremely friendly and helpful. Our vacation was wonderful and we look forward to renting again and have already referred your wonderful property to friends.

Everything you did was great. The property was great. The island, food and weather were great. The only thing we were not completely happy with was the rental car which you had nothing to do with. Thanks again.

What a special family holiday we had over Christmas and New Years! Francis Bay Estate is the best equipped home we have ever stayed in(our second time). The location is perfect for reaching the north short beaches, or walking to Little Maho or Francis. Our families have the privacy we prefer and the ease of a comfortable home. The pool with a "view of paradise" is one of the most picturesque in all the islands looking out to Jost Van Dyke and Tortola. The bedrooms are all ensuite and air-conditioned - a must with the humidity. We would stay here again. The rental over the holiday week is very expensive, something to consider in this economy. We feel like some of the discounts offered on high-end rentals should have been offered to us in the form of a refund. Something to consider.

The property was incredible,the accommodations were spectacular and the views were to die for. The only disturbing event was the invasion of the property by someone or somebodies, during our trip to the beach and the theft of some cash and jewelery.

We are terribly sorry about the theft that occurred during your vacation. Although St. John is a very safe destination, the rare crime of opportunity can happen if guests are not vigilant.
Safes are provided in every villa that Catered To Vacation Homes manage, including Francis Bay Estate. We encourage all guests to lock all valuables in the safes before departing the villa for any length of time.

Our family loved staying at Francis Bay Estate. We would take the easy walk to the beach, do some snorkeling and play on the sand, and walk back and enjoy a refreshing swim/float in the pool. The main room was well furnished and each bedroom pod was like staying at the nicest spa hotel. If you like privacy and to be out of the way, this is the place for you. Almost didn't want to write the review so as not to tell about our favorite place ever.

We loved our stay at Francis Bay Estate-perfect setup for our multi-family, multi-age group. The large gathering room allowed all to dine together, while the separated bedrooms allowed privacy as well.
Our only complaint were a multitude of insects, perhaps because of the vicinity to the beach.
