What Past Guests Are Saying
We found the converted church while searching for a place to stay in Nova Scotia, and fell in love instantly. We could see from the pictures online that it looked comfortable and had a ton of character and we were so excited to see it in person. The church did not disappoint! We were in awe when we walked in and saw how well done it was. We were greeted by a beautiful fall centerpiece on an exquisite, fully set table, as well as freshly baked bread and homemade jam!! Rose, the caretaker, was very helpful and gave good advice about local restaurants and businesses. Christopher was wonderful (so pleasant!) to deal with via email and clearly cares a great deal about the property and the guests. The decor is fantastic, and there is a great selection of books and magazines made available. We were also very impressed with the amount of firewood, kindling, and newspapers that were available to use for cozy fires. The bathroom is a treat - there's a fantastic soaker tub that is wonderful to use after a day of hiking at the Kejimkujik national park. There is also gorgeous poster of David and Jonathan poster in the bathroom that just added to the charm. We loved all the little decorating details!
Annapolis Royal is a charming little town and we had many pleasant walks - we were lucky in that the weather was great, save for a couple of "atmospheric" rainy days (which actually made the fall colours pop even more in some ways!). We honestly couldn't have been happier with our experience and would recommend this lovely vacation rental to anyone who is fortunate enough to have the opportunity to travel to beautiful annapolis Royal. Thank you, Christopher (and Craig) for sharing this beautiful property - it helped to make our 3 week Maritime tour very special and memorable!
We recently spent 4 days in annapolis Royal at the church and it was lovely! The process of check-in/check-out was smooth, the accommodation was spotless and the location was perfect.
We felt very at home here and communication with the owners leading up to and after our stay were timely and pleasant.
It's even more impressive in person than in the photos (and the photos are pretty impressive!) It truly is a fabulously comfy converted church! If we ever find our way back to the annapolis Valley, we will certainly try to stay at the church again.

Out of this world
My boyfriend and I spent three magnificent nights at the church. From the moment we walked in we felt like we were in another world, it was the most charming thing I have ever seen! The surrounding communities are lovely places to visit and the people are only too friendly to help with anything. Honestly cannot wait to go back. We felt as if we were royalty, that's how pleasant of an experience we had. We can't even pinpoint a favorite aspect of the church everything about it is breathtaking. We cannot wait to go back, which we will be!!!
Comfort, Style, and Tranquil Surroundings
I stayed at the Church for a weekend, and it was sublime. The entire church has been very cleverly repurposed in a quirky, colourful, and stylish manner. My favourite update is the conversion of the altar area into the kitchen area; very clever. I enjoyed the spaciousness of the layout, and always felt relaxed, and cozy while lounging about surrounded by quality antique, and modern furnishings. The bed was ultra-comfortable in my room, and the goddess lamps on either nightstand is indeed noteworthy. This is an ideal escape from the hustle, and bustle of the everyday grind. I definitely hope to return!
A charming getaway
Upon our arrival, my husband and I met up with the friendly caretakers, who live close by, for the key and some information. After entering the church we were blown away by the high ceilings and beautiful decor. We enjoyed 3 relaxing days surrounded by all the comforts of home. Annapolis Royal, nearby, provided some interesting history and gardens to explore and there were a number of excellent restaurants to choose from. We would definitely love to go back again.

Wonderfully boutique - the best holiday home I've ever stayed in
What a privilege to stay in this most beautiful holiday home. Everything about it is perfect: the location (so convenient for annapolis Royal, which became a favourite of our trip to Nova Scotia), the facilities (both in the church itself, and with the cute nearby store - everything we could need on both counts - not least, a woodburning stove!!), the fabulous heritage building (complete with lovely details like the hymn boards and numbers!), the clever conversion (loved the old stone window tracery that acts as a headboard for one of the beds), the stylish decor (easily the equivalent of the best boutique hotels I have stayed in), the friendly welcome (both from the owners and from their local keyholder). I have the fondest memories of our visit and genuinely can't think of a single aspect that didn't exceed our expectations. Every detail had been attended to and we felt honoured to have been trusted with the keys to such a gorgeous home. Thank you!
