Villa Splendid, is a luxurious, three bedroom executive villa set on the outskirts of Jolly, with a beautiful, lush, private garden.
This tastefully and comfortably furnished villa has a spacious lounge and dining area, perfect for relaxing into after a hard day on the beach.
The villa sits on a quarter acre fully-landscaped plot and has a large covered patio area with a dining table for six and a gas barbecue, as well as a small pool, the ideal place to cool down on those hot tropical days. A wonderful property and location which is a great choice for a holiday rental. The Harbour View Development is adjacent to the Jolly Harbour resort which boasts the biggest Marina in the Caribbean and a fine 18-hole golf course. If your idea of a perfect holiday is lazing the day away on the beach then take visit to the beach located within a 10-minute walk away from the villa. However for the more active holidaymaker there are many on site activities to undertake within the Jolly Harbour Resort. These include Tennis, Swimming, 18 Hole golf course, Basketball, Squash, Gym, Cycling, Hiking and Running (most of these activities carry a charge)
Water sports activities on offer include Wind surfing, Water skiing, Water Bicycles, Jet Skis etc.
In Jolly Harbour there is a shopping centre which offers a wide range of products and services to suit every need including: 3 Banks, Beauty Salon, Art Shop, Car Hire, Golf Cart Rental and a fully stocked supermarket. There is a lot on offer when deciding where to eat out, from snacks and burgers to fine cuisine. Notable eateries include Castaways restaurant located directly on the beach, Peters Steakhouse and Italian Melini's is situated in the centre of the resort. At the Portafino building you will find Al Porto, which offers 2 for 1 pizza every Tuesday and an all you can eat pasta buffet on a Thursday (Subject to change)
Antigua has 365 beaches, one for each day of the year, all of which are open to the public.
The unspoiled island of Barbuda can be visited on the excellence or a day visit or there are sailing trips available if you want to stay a couple of days.
If you really want to capture the fantastic scenery in Antigua then a helicopter tour around the island is the way to do it with Caribbean Helicopters. They offer both full and half island tours with opportunities to take amazing photos to document the tour. There are many places of interest to visit in Antigua including Nelsons Dockyard, English Harbour and Shirley Heights on a Sunday afternoon were there is a BBQ and Live local music. St Johns is about 15 minutes drive from Jolly Harbour and has a great duty free shopping area.

Loved the villa at 228F Frigate House. Only recommendation I would suggest is to make sure people know to bring convertors as everything is 220V and being in antigua 3x previous to this visit, I wasn't prepared for that. The accommodations were extremely comfortable, loved the outdoor deck overlooking the harbor and also loved having a terrace off the bedroom.

This was a really great rental for family or friends, the villa has everything you need, a real home from home. Great pool and terrace, super market walking distance, beach and restaurants 10 mins walk away.

We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Splendid that was provided by Typically Tropical Villas.
While we did encounter a few small hiccups during our stay, the team of Margot and amy, handled them quickly and professionally. We had their personal cell phone numbers, and if we had any issues, concerns, or needs they left the beach on a weekend to see to our needs.

My friend and I spent two glorious weeks at Villa Splendid in Jolly Harbour in February 2013.
Firstly, it did occur to me that I was about to say some great things about this villa that might appear as a bit of a 'plant'. The following is a genuine review and we don't personally know the owner!
If you want all of the benefits of a private, spacious, immaculately clean and comfortable villa that is not in the main tourist location, yet within 5 minutes walk of all the restaurants, bars, tours, harbour, supermarket and 10 minutes from what we consider to be the best beach on the island (South beach), then this is a fantastic choice for you.
We are very fussy renters, but we couldn't fault the villa in any way. Although there was just the two of us, it will sleep 6 very comfortably. Air conditioning throughout was a real bonus. As was every convenience you need in the kitchen and living areas, including free wi-fi.
We had friends staying in the main tourist areas, but the scale of the entertaining areas, inside and out, meant that our friends came over to us often. Plenty of sunbeds and covered eating areas outside to accommodate you and/or your friends and the quarter pool (you can't really call it just a plunge pool as it's larger and deeper than it appears in the photo's) was a real bonus. Somewhere to cool off with a glass of wine any time of the day was fabulous, overlooking the lovely gardens that surrounded the villa.
Superbly managed, with plenty of on-hand advice and help in choosing and booking the right tours, saved us time and money. The high speed, around the island tour was fantastic and well worth the money, even if it's the only tour you do.
If you want to eat out, there's plenty of choice, but, for something really authentic, just 2 minutes walk up to the main road is Miracles restaurant. Everything from the most amazing lobster to goat curry. We eat there several times and were never disappointed.
Great place. Great value for money.
