dallas, txBest vacation home... ever!

This house was amazing. It is a true architectural masterpiece. The views of the 3 volcanoes were spectacular. The yard was manicured to perfection and beautiful. The house was in excellent condition. Nothing was lacking. The staff members were warm, kind and efficient. The maid, Veronica, washed and ironed our clothes daily. I sang her praises daily. The gardener, Ronnie, was always there to help when needed. He lit the fire for us at night and lit the grill for us when we wanted to BBQ. The drivers (we had a day driver and a night driver) were wonderful and so helpful. Luis and Ricardo. We felt a strong bond with Veronica, Luis, Ricardo and Ronnie by the end of this fabulous week. It was hard to leave the house because everything was so nice... but when we did, we had marvelous experiences. Antigua is full of life, history, beautiful architecture, wonderful restaurants and charming people. It is on my list as one of the most intersting trips so far. Be sure and book a historical walking tour with Elizabeth Brown. Fascinating. Hike up El Pilar. It figuratively and literally took my breath away. Visit a coffee plantation. It was every bit as interesting and fun as visiting a vineyard. We never had a bad meal eating out. The selection was international and very sophisticated. The artisans Market is a "must see." And the food market as well. This trip is right up there with our European adventures!

Just got back from antigua with my Partner and another couple. We all agreed that the house was even better than what we expected. The views of the city and surrounding volcanos were wonderful. The staff at the house and Nelson(the dog) made our trip very special, going above and beyond. Sorry the hot tub was not finished yet, but we will enjoy it on our next trip.

This house is amazing. We spent part of our honeymoon here, and plan to return in the future. Valerie, was wonderful, made the rental process very easy, and was very kind to come find us in antigua to guide us there the first day. That experience was just the start of a wonderful stay.
The location, for us, was perfect. Just far enough from the crowds and noise, but still close enough to offer easy access to all antigua has to offer. We found ourselves looking forward to the quiet and beauty of our retreat.
The housekeeper and grounds keeper where also attentive polite and always willing to answer questions or help with things such as lighting a fire in the evening.
The house itself has great architecture, exquisite decoration and finishes. As well as very interesting books to browse, on Guatemala and local indigenous culture. All crowned by the huge picture wall/window, which you can open to the gardens and surrounding views. At every turn, windows (very large) frame magnificent views of the volcanoes and surrounding areas. The kitchen is well equipped and helps to enhance a very comfortable stay.
Must also mention the birds! it's a treat to sit outside and wait to be surprised by what may fly by next. I will highly recommend this place to friends visiting antigua. -

After driving from arizona to Guatemala, this rental was exactly what I was looking for to relax in this colonial town! Very short drive to downtown antigua. Absolutely wonderful views of the three surrounding volcanos through the sliding glass wall in the main living area. The option of having this glass wall closed, partially open, or completely open makes this vacation rental truly unique. And at night you can see the twinkling lights of antigua below peeking through the trees. The onsite staff of the guard/gardener, the maid, and the gentle German Shepherd are a wonderful addition to this property. And the optional chauffeur is great for those without their own vehicle. I'm not a birder, but it's been a joy getting to see so many different species of birds in the gardens surrounding the house!

A few comments on the house. We had an amazing few days in antigua and Casa Chiltotes was a big contribution to it. The house is really marvelous to spend time in and the decoration is exquisite. We are delighted to have had the opportunity to pick this place!
We especially enjoyed the kitchen, the large diner table and the sofas all integrated in one large living area. ... and the monumental window, with its breathtaking views! We enjoyed having our early breakfast while seeing all sorts of birds bathing in the two carved water holes in the ward. A tall drink at sunset time with the view of the volcanoes (active Fuego was exploding from time to time). We just enjoyed every minute of it! The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and agreeable.
Congratulations for this little corner of paradise! Everyone in our group is delighted.
Thank you and see you again soon!
