Kivga Holiday Bungalow was designed and constructed in 2009 in order to provide as much comfort, seclusion as well as convenience to all guests. There are in total 4 bedrooms, in which the master bedroom is ideal for families and contains a jacuzzi as well. A spacious lawn is situated at the rear of the property, providing more than enough space for either leisure activities, a barbecue or simply to admire the captivating landscape.

Our stay at Kivga was wonderful. Mr Ilankoon went to extra special effort to make my request for a special Valentine's dinner a memorable occasion and he made us feel very welcome. The Kivga is great value, very comfortable and quiet but still in a location that is easy to get to all the sights of anuradhapura. Food was great, not too spicy but it can be if you like yours hot. We highly recommend you stay at Kivga when you go to anuradhapura.

A small, family run business. Contemporary and clean interior and exterior. Only four rooms, so has a private, intimate and very friendly atmosphere. Lovely, hospitable and very helpful owner and family helpers, who were very happy to give me tips on where to visit and even arranged transport/guide for me. Great location if you are particularly interested in seeing historic Buddhist sites. Only a 5 minute walk to town and the bus station and a 5 minute drive to the nearest train station. On a quite road, just tucked behind the main roads and a lovely garden which surrounds the whole property. It was like staying in a private home. Very relaxing.
Travel tip:
There are loads of Buddhist places of interest in anuradhapura. If you haven't got a vehicle, you can flag down a tuk tuk (or three wheeler) which is the local form of taxi, but a lot cheaper; and ask the driver to show you around the sites (which you can do in less than a day). Just agree a price with them and the drivers are happy to act as personal guides. I was taken to around 10/12 sites over half a day for just 1500 Rupees (less than £9.00 British sterling) -

We stayed in Kivga during our visit to anuradhapura in Dec-2011. The family room we rented had a spacious bedroom, a luxurious Jaccuzzi in the bath and a extra large balcony with the lake view. It is located close to the Grand Hotel right in the middle of the town still offers extreamly calm and quite stay yet cheap. During our two nights stay we enjoyed continental and traditional Sri Lankan breakfast both home made with extra care. Early morning coffee at the balcony hearing to the chimes of the birds and the lovely fragrance of the flowers was an experience we cherish.

We are so excited to say we were the first guests to stay @ Kivga once it opened & we were able to relax in a boutique home away fom home atmosphere.
The balcony views of the huge lake & capturing the water breezes after a long day of sightseeing in the heat was welcoming as well as the spa bath.
You will have the host with the most & designer details throughout, nothing is a problem. Enjoy !
