The Byre built in 1886 has now been creatively refurbished and beautifully decorated by its owners producing a personal touch. The homely, spacious living room is warmed by a Morso Squirrel stove and from here the spiral staircase coils its way to the double bedroom. If the weather doesn’t permit the exploration of the charming village of Kilchoan and its encompassing landscape the 40” TV and DVD player allows some comforting entertainment on blustery nights. Steading holidays know how to make people feel welcome, the Byre was presented immaculately clean and warm - without feeling clinical. The property has a lightly lived-in feel, but is in no way tatty. The layout and design of the property is clearly intended for comfort. The double bedroom accessed by a spiral staircase, with its huge double bed and a window looking straight out over the sea - has to be seen and experienced. John and Jacqui were such wonderful hosts, no interference but there to say hello, and I'm sure they'd be available if there were any problems. The ardnamurchan peninsula and particularly the area around Kilchoan at the western edge of the mainland has stunning scenery and is a truly wild place. Highly recommended !
