CanadaYou gotta stay here!

We stayed here the 3rd week in april 2013
Our host Joan is the ultimate!
I was born on this beautiful island but moved away as a child. I had brought my husband to Trinidad 4x before but this was his most comfortable and favorite trip due to our stay at the Chateau Guillaumme. Normally I do a short trip and this time i regretted it as we both enjoyed it so much and felt so much at home and very very welcomed! This is the ultimate Trini feeling that I miss ever so much. We are planning another trip next year and this time for a longer period since we know we will be staying at the Chateau Guillaumme and that we would be every so happy and content there.
I will surely be recommending this lovely B&B; to all my canadian friends and encourage anyone looking at this B&B; to book now! you will not regret it. You may only regret that you did not stay for a longer period.
Thank you Joan for a most memorable trip.. I got to tell you that as the aircraft was taxing for take off I was weeping because we truly enjoyed our trip and were not ready to go home.
You gotta stay here folks! you will have the ultimate trini experience here.

Joan and Matthew Williams are very kind hosts and i had a great time with them. Joan cooks very delicious and i had to try so many different fruits and meals while my stay. Matthew showed me many nice places of Trinidad and i will never forget my 2 h-walk through the rainforrest for swimming in that nice cold water of the waterfall. Matthew showed me many nice places and gave me lots of information about Trinidad. He knows his country very well so it was a pleasure to do all the tours with him. I felt save on my trip and had lots of fun. Thanks for the nice time in Chateau Guillaumme and Trinidad.

Left on 08/10/2012 for a stay in July 2012
I live in San antonio,Texas and on 21 Jul 12 I was notified that my mother who lived in Trinidad transitioned (died). I made a few calls and Chateau Guillaumme Comfort Zone was recommended by a cousin who lives in Trinidad. Her experience with Chateau Guillaumme Comfort Zone occurred when some exchange students who were associated with her sister who lives in Florida visited Trinidad and stayed there. Matthew answered the phone when I called and he was very responsive to my need. Matthew arraranged to have me picked up at the airport on my arrival...unheard of. Right then and there I knew I had made a great choice. Upon my arrival the staff was attentive to my needs, enthusiastic to make me as comfortable under the circumstances, and showed compassion. They were also very responsive to my requests and they always did it with a lot of smiles. Joan (Matthew's wife) and the housekeeper Barbara took to time to sit and fellowship with me as I dealt with the passing of my mom. Having lived in Trinidad for the first sixteen years of my life staying in Chateau Guillaumme was like staying in a five star hotel in america, however, the staff made it more personal.Matthew went so far as to make himself available the day of my mom's burial to transport some of our family and guests from the church to the funeral home and he did this at no cost. What a Blessing! Joan expressed many forms of kindness to me during my thirteen day stay. My stay ended as it began. At 430 on the day of my departure Matthew took me to the airport. My prayer is that Chateau Guillaumme Comfort Zone will continue to prosper in everything that they set there hands to do that is of God's will and that God will continue to show them lots of favor.

Atlanta, GAHospitality at its best

My friend and I went to visit relatives in arima and found this B&B; in which to reside. Words cannot describe the comfort and the generosity of kindness in which we both received. I could go on and on regarding our experience while staying here. But the things that stuck with me the most were: Chateau Guillaumme is the absolute reflection of the owners (Joan and Matthew) and their helper (Barbara) warm and calm personalities. We especially loved going into the garden for mangoes, starfruit and cherries each day. Lastly, my 8 years grandson came to visit and the first words out of his mouth when entering was, "It is so clean". We all agreed. We give our thanks for such a pleasant vacation.

My family and I traveled to Trinidad and Tobago for 8 days and had a wonderful vacation. This was due in large measure to the exceptional hospitality and service we experienced during our stay at Chateau Guillaumme (CG). It was like being at home in Trinidad. Owners Joan and Matthew did everything to make our time special. We enjoyed the comfort of the air conditioned rooms, a delicious breakfast each morning, sweet mangos which we could just pick up from the tree outside the kitchen and customized tours of the island led by Matthew. He's very knowledgeable and a great host. We went on tours which took us all over Trinidad including Port of Spain, the asa Wright Nature Center, Maracas Beach, Mayaro Beach and San Fernando.
We appreciated CG even more when our group of 11 took a side trip to Tobago and stayed at a vacation rental near Pigeon Point for 2 nights. No one was on site to assist us and the units didn't even contain the basics of toilet paper and towels. (Note: Make it a point to find out exactly what's included when you book your vacation rental).
We highly recommend Chateau Guillaumme if you travel to Trinidad. Your trip will be memorable. -

Joan and Matthew Williams, the owners of Chateau Guillaumme, are very kind, generous, open-minded, tolerant and flexible people, worth-while travelling thousands of miles to meet them. Arima is centrally located in Trinidad and a good starting point for discovering the island. The rooms, they offer, are quiet, clean and comfortable with a.c., and a large kitchen and well-minded tropical garden can be used by the guests. Joan is an excellent cooker, preparing delicious meals (including indian cuisine), according to your wishes. Matthew is a circumspect tour guide with great knowledge of his country, an excellent and careful driver and never runs out of ideas, even if the weather is bad. We had a lot of fun together on our tours. You can book tours with him, even if you do not stay in his house all the time. We are travelling a lot but rarely met real "first class" hosts like these two.Thank you!
Two advices: If you plan hiking, take really good hiking shoes with you. If your are keen on listening to steel drum music, choose carnival time for your journey.
