My Husband and I booked this cottage with friends. As we had lived in the area in the the past we had watched the renovation of the property and thought it would be a nice location to bring our friends to see the area. When we walked into the cottage what a lovely suprise everything was perfect with plenty of room. We were lovely and warm with the fantastic log burner. Our friends were very impressed with the cottage and area, and would be recommending to their family and friends. We will most definately be back its nice to get together with friends in such pleasant surroundings. By the way the beds were sooo comfortable.

Fantastic house, thoughtfully renovated to a high standard. Well equipped, comfortable and very clean. Lovingly cared for by the owner who lives close by. We had a fantastic holiday here, as a mixed family group, all the rooms are tastefully furnished and the bathrooms are all well equipped. The linen and towels were all new. Views from each window are beautiful and walks lead straight from the garden path. It is possible to walk into the village but we found that this took approximately 30 minutes. Arnside gives access to the banks of the River Kent, with fantastic views. There are pubs and small shops too. Near bye, Silverdale and Milnthorpe provide further opportunity to shop. There is an information folder in the cottage.

There was 7 in our group aged 18 to 73 and not forgetting Kipling & Sidney (our two Fox Terriers). We chose this place because it was pet-friendly and because it offered a number of sleeping solutions...downstairs there is a very generous master with en-suite and a separate double (which for morning ablutions had sole use of the family bathroom); upstairs there was a further double and an ample, twin room - both sharing a Jack & Jill en-suite.
The kitchen and large open plan dining area is on the ground floor and the huge lounge is on the first floor, accessed by 8 or 9 carpeted stairs - one parent is quite unsteady on his feet and cannot walk without a stick - we thought he might be confined to downstairs - but it transpired that because the flight of stairs were narrow and short - he was able to take his time to get upstairs (unaided) and come back down on his bum!
- This accommodation is first class in every aspect - not a single complaint! Complete attention to detail and top quality fixtures and fittings throughout - all the beds were super comfy and there were enough leather sofas to accommodate everyone!
The kitchen is fully equipped with all mod-cons and upstairs, the latest sky and Wi-Fi technology, will satisfy teenagers and stay at homes types! Underfloor heated tiles throughout the ground floors, meant that we were able to keep on top of the cleaning with a quick daily brush!
Outside the dwelling there is a large limestone gravel amenity space...with ample parking for several cars (at one point we had four parked and still had room for the dogs and a bbq!). There is a drying area, table and seating for 8, barbeque area and summer house come coat and boot store - perfect for muddy walkers and dogs!
With walks from the doorstep, you could easily leave the car at home for a week but within a few miles there are a myriad of trails, woodland, coastal and canal paths - as well as all that the 'Lakes' has to offer. We stayed for a fortnight and can recommend Cartmel (and the Races), Grizedale Forest, Kendal, Lancaster, Windermere and Fell Foot Lakeside, Water activity Centre. Milnthorpe is perfect for provisions, Chinese and Indian Food and arnside is a must for fish and chips or scones at the Ramblers Cafe. The Wheatsheaf and The Ship both allow dogs inside so eating out wasn't a problem.
The hosts, Carol and Bruce, could not do enough to please - very amenable and friendly - they have clearly put a lot of thought and consideration into this high-end holiday let - go on, indulge yourself - you won't be disappointed!
The downside? The pub and shop is a 25 minute walk away, across a field - it rained - a lot - even for the Lake District and so it was much easier to take the car - which meant I drove...oh, and the roads are narrow - which I loved but recommend you go everywhere via Milnthorpe (shortest route to the a6) if you're a bit cautious! All in all - simply superb! -

Myself and my fiancee's family (7 of us) stayed in the cottage for a week and it was a wonderfully relaxing retreat with all the modern comforts one becomes used to at home (and more), including Sky TV, Wi-Fi, dishwasher, great showers(!) and a brand spanking new BBQ.
The rooms were very well-finished and a good size, especially the lounge, which has the benefit of amazing views, enhanced by the evening sunset over the fields. The kitchen / dining area was a very nice, modern arrangement providing loads of space and a great dining table.
The accommodation benefits from a separte out-house to the rear, which we used to store our bikes as this is secured and double-glazed. All-in-all, the accommodation was just what we wanted and was the perfect base to relax in. We fitted three cars comfortably on the drive-way, and there is additional room to the front of the property for parking.
It's not too far to arnside with its amenities, pubs and beautiful views over the estuary. Silverdale is a short distance further to the south west, boasting a great butcher, nice village feel and the south Lakes are no distance at all to the north. On arrival, the owner of the property couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating, and gave us some handy tips for the local area (including the best golf courses around and about!).
Thoroughly recommended to one and all.
