Atlanta GeorgiaA paradise by the ocean
Left on 06/12/2013 for a stay in June 2013
My family has enjoyed staying in this villa several times and each time is like escaping to a paradise. Everything you need to relax and enjoy your vacation is available here. You can choose to relax in your spacious room, on you private terrace with spectacular views of the ocean or walk right out and snorkel with the sea turtles that always swim in front of the house.
It has been so nice to "escape" from reality here and still have a sense of home when you are away on vacation. Unlike when staying at a hotel you have privacy and your own kitchen. Has been wonderful with our children.
I would suggest this villa to anyone that wants a truly relaxing vacation in aruba that is close to all the activity of the "tourist" beaches but still offers privacy and quiet when you want.

tuckerPlenty of space for everyone
Left on 05/28/2013 for a stay in May 2013
I booked this vacation villa nearly 7 months ago based on other customer reviews. Working with Viola was really easy. She communicated well and answered all of my emails promptly. My party kept growing so I need more space than the 4 bedrooms upstairs (3rd floor). When I asked Viola about more space nearby, she advised of the private apartments downstairs (2nd floor). It's a 3 floor villa. I rented the 2nd and 3rd floor, Viola and her family live downstairs on the 1st floor.
My 1st impressiosn upon arrival frightened me. From pulling up to the house it appeard to be heavily under construction which scared me. There were several workers and things out of place (not so neat and orderly). There were several areas of the house (inside and outside that are currently being worked on, i.e., bathroom, roof, ceilings, door knobs missing, light fixtures, etc.). The workers were there every day, we saw them and heard them, but they really did not disturb/bother us at all...I only saw them a couple of times on our balcony but not in our living quarters.
Okay, back to my arrival. I met Vi and she took all of us on a tour of the 2 floors we rented in the house. It's a huge house. Very spread out. You dont really have to run into other people if you like to remain private as there are so many little private spaces around. Really great patios that overlook the beach. Many kitchens. The king bedroom that I choose on the 2nd floor does not have a private bathroom...it's on the patio in the publich area where everyone on the patio could hear everything I did in the bathroom and shower...part of the shower wall is glass block. Absolutely no privacy but I made it work. It's not completely finished/still under construction. The main kitchen on the 2nd floor is nice. We did have a problem with ants each day but we bought some spray and took care of it daily. Plenty of space for lots of cooks with all the pots pans and dishes you would need. The walk to the beach is probably 50ft if I had to guess. Cross the street and pass 1 house and you are on the sand. Very nice. There are 2 cats seen around the property daily...I dont like cats but for the most part they stayed out of my way and I stayed out of their way. There were only 10 of us, but between the 2 floors rented, we couldve added 4 more people and been just as comfortable in this huge space. If this house had a swimming pool it would be awesome, but it doesnt, it has a beach, and it's just across the street :-)Response from Viola Frankova - 05/31/2013
Owner
Thank you Aretha for a review, I am happy that your big group enjoyed my house,
Aretha I have only ONE maintenance worker which is really necessary for so big house like is my. There is always something to repair make new and replace on the ocean. I have no idea who did you see more, maybe the guy who did repair the fridge outdoor. But the neighbour house did some construction work in that week that's truth and that you could hear! I can't do anything about it.
We are right now finishing cosmetic stuff(painting) in our place downstairs, furniture and put construction stuff that we doesn't need anymore away, organize, that's what you could see in our place downstairs and did scared you because you did use our gate instead of the gate for our guest at the first time.
I do understand it! I apologize.
The bathroom in your apartment we renovated, the 2 missing lights we put there after your visit and paint the door. I left space in rental for other stuff too in the house. Also this apartment I rent normal to 2 person nobody else has access to that area, I didn't have complains till now, everybody liked the glass blocks(nobody can see through anyway) and big shower, special you will not like the small shower was before there at all.
The 2 cats keeping coming, Aruba is like this, dogs, cats everywhere on the street.
We simply do what's in our hands by keeping very reasonable price for this location anyway, swimming pool I know but than..... -) -

My wife and I stay here for 6 days and 5 nights this past month. Steps away from some of the best snorkling in aruba, 300 yards away from arashi Beach, my favorite beach in aruba and only a 3 minute drive to the high rise hotel area.
I cannot recommend this place enough. The place is magical! It is owed by a family and you'll see them quite a bit, so you have to be OK with a more "informal" feel.
Their son Michael is 15 year old fishing machine and one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. He's also a great cook!
Skip the high priced hotels and stay here for one of the best and st relaxing vacations of your life. -

MarylandA Tropical Paradise
Left on 03/30/2013 for a stay in December 2012
Crystal Beach Villa is a tropical Paradise. You won't find a better or nicer place in aruba to stay.
The photographs, lovely as they are, simply don't do it justice. They don't capture the songbirds and parrots in the coconut palms just off the private terrace. They don't show you the entire world of flora and fauna that lives underwater in the coral reef just steps from the house. And photographs can't possibly convey the feel of the constant tradewinds blowing through the entire apartment, giving it that fresh, perfect summer day feel all of the time. (But whenever you prefer, there is air conditioning in the large bedroom/sitting area.)
The beach you see in the photos, a few steps from the house, is considered by many to be the best snorkeling spot on the entire island of aruba. A larger beach, Arashi, is about six houses up the street, and is one of the nicest beaches for both snorkeling and swimming you'll find anywhere in the Caribbean.
The house is exactly as described, and more. Everything we needed for a relaxing vacation was provided (including wifi connection and a nice big TV). Our apartment was clean, spacious, and so convenient and comfortable that we often found ourselves just " staying put." Although we are typically more ambitious explorers when we travel, we found little reason to leave the beauty and relaxed ambiance of our apartment ("Where else could we go that would be this beautiful and pleasant?" we'd ask ourselves). And the landlady of Crystal Beach Villa, Viola Frankova, could not have been more gracious. If you are looking for a relaxed, private, and beautiful place to unwind, this would be that place. We spent two weeks there, every day a perfect day, every night a perfect night, black sky with bright stars, moon, and puffy little clouds blowing across the sky. We can't wait to go back!

Left on 03/14/2013 for a stay in March 2013

Left on 02/11/2013 for a stay in February 2013
When I was booking this villa I felt that "it was too good to be true" and we all know how the rest of that saying goes... But, I'm happy to report that the picutues and descriptions of this place are extremely accurate!
We spent 8 nights there and found the place to be absolutely perfect for the nine of us. There was plenty of space to come together as a group... and yet everyone was able to spead out and have some alone time if that's what they wanted to do.
I can only repeat what others have said when stating the positives: Great location; beaches in either direction; best snorkeling spot on the Island is right across the street!; the place is clean and spacioius; Viola is extremely helpful, and yet you really only see her if you need her. In terms of the negatives... we really didn't have any complaints! -

It was first arubean vacation, so our family was really concerned about villa/house choice. When we've chosen Crystall Villa, there was no clue what to expect, but after two weeks of relax on aruba we could conclude that this villa is perfect solution in all respects:
- Outstanding location, by meaning: good privacy, few steps from arashi beach, 30 meters from the best diving spot on aruba, at the same time only 5 minutes’ drive to High Rise hotel street (restaurants, promenade and etc.).
- Spacious and clean rooms, air conditioning, nice bathroom in each bedrooms, special safe, good kitchen with all utensils and even spices there, huge fridge as well.
- Awesome terrace with perfect sea view, chaise-longues, dinner table and perfect gas grill. So it was possible to cook fresh sea food or steaks fast without any problems.
- Convenient and safe car parking place inside with roof, so in case any night rains (there were some in October) you could leave your jeep/convertible opened without a headache to have it wet.
- Several outdoor showers, so house will be free of beach send. As well as you could refresh by taking shower directly on the terrace
- Really hospitable owner
- Wi-Fi is good and free of charge, but due the house size (it is really big) in some rooms signal strength is decreased
Really affordable price for such advantages. Would definitely recommend it! -

Atlanta, GeorgiaFantastic location, fantastic vibe, awesome landlady!
Left on 10/06/2012 for a stay in August 2012
This was a family vacation - parents and grown-up siblings. The entire trip was one of the easiest and most relaxing trips we've had. The location was very easy to get to from the airport. We took a taxi from the airport and it was a straight shot to the airport. The location was as described at Trip advisor.
The rooms were more than adequate and the sea breeze kept the apartment cool during the day (for days we wanted to linger in the rooms). We spent most days on the huge patio which had a fan and again, that fabulous sea breeze.
We rented a jeep for a couple of days to drive around the island. Otherwise, we used the local buses for transportation. That was the only tricky part of the vacation. The location of the bus stop was never quite clear to us especially on the trip back to the villa (this obviously has nothing to do with Viola).
We did a lot of cooking - buying items was simple enough - there are a number of supermarkets in the hotel district (which is on the way from the airport to the villa). Viola has information about these supermarkets. She also had information on different restaurants and activities around the area as well as car rental information.
Viola was a very gracious landlady (along with her husband and her son). I highly recommend this vacation rental and hope to come back again. -

My family and I stayed here, the home is very nice - great view from the terrace. We spent most of our time (when in the house) out on the terrace enjoying the breeze and the view. The location is fantastic you are just a few minutes drive from Palm/Eagle beach and steps from the best snorkeling on aruba. The California Lighthouse and arashi beach are within walking distance. I definitely recommend renting a car, and also visiting the grocery store to take advantage of the grill on the terrace. That was one of the better nights of our trip just grilling on the terrace. Something to keep in mind however it is not like the typical us hotel experience - if you are expecting a/C 24/7 this is not for you. There are air conditioning units in the bedrooms however, you need to turn them off when you are not in the house as electricity is very expensive there. If you keep your curtains closed and let the breeze blow through the house it is quite comfortable. There is wifi available and Viola is a fantastic hostess. She answered all our questions and we would definitely recommend this villa to our friends and family.

Omaha, NebraskaWonderful stay, the snorkeling was amazing!
Left on 07/03/2012 for a stay in June 2012
My sisters and I shared the villa for a week and had a great time. You can easily fit twice that many people here (there were four of us) but we wanted our own bedrooms so it was perfect for us.
Excellent location for snorkeling, aside from all of the beautiful fish, we saw puffers, octopus, many eels and giant sponge stars.
We had concerns about the idea of turning off the a/C during the day and opening all the windows, but the breeze was very nice and kept the place comfortable during the day.
We spent the majority of time while at the villa on the terrace and it was great. I would hesitate to bring young children to this location as the railings are quite low as are the window ledges. For adults it makes for a better view! -

I absolutely love this place. Beach across the street. My husband and I now have our 3rd stay already booked. My husband and I both like to stay out of the hotel zone and be away from the crowds. The home is very neat, clean and beautiful. Car rental is a must in aruba. I read where people say you don't need to rent a car but that's if your staying in the hotel zone and don't plan to leave the resort.

We stayed at Crystal Beach villa for one week in Jan 2012. The villa was everything as advertised. Our group consisted of 7 adults and there was ample space as we never felt crowded. Viola was very accomodating and was there whenever you had any questions. You would never know there was a family on the first floor -- let alone other people renting the cottages on either side of the villa. We spent 99% of the time at the villa on the deck where you have a great view of the action on the beach and sea. You see all the snorkeling boats coming in each morning and afternoon and the cruise ships coming into aruba and leaving at night. After 5 p.m., there is no traffic in front of the villa and it is very quiet. The Calif lighthouse is close enough to walk to it. I would highly recommend this villa to anyone.

My family and I have stayed at this Villa several times and each visit is better than the last. Viola and her family really make you feel at home and are very helpful and accommodating with any requests you may have while you are visiting aruba.
They can help with anything from where to rent a car to snorkeling, fishing, activities or just groceries and dinner. The level of service they provide cannot be matched by the hotels. The Villa is beautiful as well as the gardens around the Villa. Access to the ocean is only steps away and it is never crowded. This is the perfect place to vacation if you are a couple or a large family. I would recommend this vacation villa to anyone wanting to visit aruba. You can't find a more perfect spot to stay in aruba.
