Description from the owner

Castelfiorito - the hamlet of flowers, is situated at a height of around 660 m, near the small village of Casale in very quiet surroundings. However it is only 2 minutes walk to the very popular traditional restaurant La Diga.

The two apartments have magnificent panoramic views of, and are very close to the spectacular mountain ranges of the Sibillini & Gran Sasso National Parks. The location is ideal for those who love and appreciate walking, cycling & other outdoor pursuits. There are many walks direct from the apartments along quiet lanes and tracks, to discover the abundant flora and fauna, and perhaps catch a glimpse of the deer an...Read more

    Additional Location Information

Travellers who want the best of central Italy are now heading for Le Marche, It is pronounced 'lay markay', is plural (Le Marche) and is sometimes translated into English as 'The Marches'. The region lies on the eastern side of central Italy, between the Adriatic Sea and the high Apennine mountains and much of it remains unspoilt by the ravages of mass tourism. The Adriatic coast has been a favorite for 'seaside' holiday makers for decades; but few venture far from the beaches. However inland, perhaps more so than anywhere else in central Italy, you will find places where time really has stood still. Many people who come to Le Marche are looking for a taste of the 'real' Italy, and a region that is welcoming to visitors. Whether you want to trek across wild uncharted mountains, admire masterpieces of Renaissance art and architecture, or hunt out the best of the catch in a Mediterranean fishing port, Le Marche has enough to keep you busy. You won't be disappointed.

      Amazing location

Left on 04/22/2010 for a stay in December 2008

The apartment is in a very quiet village with spectacular views. We thoroughly enjoyed the ability to drive into the surrounding mountains for walking, and were fortunate enough to have nearly 1 metre of snow whilst there. The apartment was a good size, and whilst there were some minor issues with the heating, all other facilities were excellent.

      three months in paradise!

Left on 04/22/2010 for a stay in June 2009

It was incredibly beautiful, incredibly private,
and a wonderful centre for exploring Italy. The
apartment was delightful as well as practical,
situated high up in a tiny hamlet of 5-6 houses,
occupied only at weekends in the summer, and the
owner could not have been more helpful. The local
town has all the amenities you could want, with
larger towns, ancient and medieval also nearby. It
is a lovely drive (about 40 minutes) to the coast,
with a delightful vineyard on the way....!! We
cycled and walked - both of which can be done from
the apartment itself, as its location, on top of a
mountain, amongst many mountains! It is not party
town, and you do need a vehicle, but night life is
not far away, people are very friendly and helpful,
and it is so private that no one complains when you
party! I have never stayed anywhere quite so
beautiful. The downside? Having to say goodbye -
honestly! Thanks, Roy, it was unforgettable. PS all
our visitors from England thought it was amazing
      too!

Castelfiorito. So homely and reasonably priced

Left on 04/10/2010 for a stay in October 2009

We,my wife & I,have now stayed at Roy's apartment on 3 occasions during 2009.The apartment itself has everything you would need and it was great to take advantage of the open fire during the winter season (there is central heating as well). The rates are very affordable and renting instead of staying in a hotel has extra benefits. The views are spectacular although this is a little remote so you definitely need a car to get out and about (Comunanza has every type of shop you would need from local to supermarkets and about 15 minutes drive away).Roy was a great host and willing to provide anything he could to make the stay more comfortable.
Would recommend especially during summer months when you can just relax and tan up.

      Italian Job

Left on 04/09/2010 for a stay in June 2009

The location is stunning, took my breath away. The local towns are easy to access. Fantastic venue to get away from all the hustle and bustle of UK life.
The apartment was lovely and everything you need is supplied even a pizza oven downstairs. If you like fresh air this is for you. Oh yes very easy to get the coach for a nice trip to Rome. Will be back this year. Hi Roy.
