Description from the manager

The Dream Catcher is truly a dream come true when it comes to enjoying the best Blue Ridge Mountain views. The Americana theme flows throughout this large cabin with plenty of room to relax. Enjoy the expansive views from two stories of windows in the main level living area where an open floor plan allows friends and family to enjoy cooking meals together in the large fully-equipped kitchen and hanging out by the stone fireplace. Downstairs, the lower living area provides a second gathering space where folks can stretch out on the wrap-around couch and enjoy a drink made at the convenient wet bar, which comes complete with a mini-fridge. A change in altitude will change your attitude!!!

Left on 09/27/2012 for a stay in August 2012

This is a spectacular cabin!!! Very clean and has plenty of room for two families. My wife and I stayed in mid august 2012 and the weather was just spectacular!! Mid 50's at night with a high around 75 degrees. It's just 20 minutes from downtown asheville which makes it a very good location for all the activities of downtown. We'll be back next summer for sure!! We have now stayed at three different cabins in this community and they all were nice!!! J&R; from Trinity, Florida

Left on 08/01/2012 for a stay in July 2012

We had a great 2-day family reunion (from Charlotte, Raleigh, Nashville and Johnson City) high in those tall mountains where the scenery was gorgeous, bracing, beautiful, refreshing and totally relaxing. We found the cabin's facilities and furnishings very much to our liking and we do plan for another visit to #51 again next summer.

      Awesome time in the mountains!

Left on 04/02/2012 for a stay in March 2012

A ladies group of 7 stayed in the Dream Catcher for a weekend during our Christian Ladies retreat.Though it rained during most of our stay we did have some time for a walk in the sunshine on Saturday. The views were breathtaking just as the sunset was on Friday evening! From the back deck in the mornings it seemed we were waking up in the clouds which was a plus in my book!!The kitchen had all the utensils and dishes needed to whip up several meals we enjoyed. The house is comfortable, roomy and beatifully decorated. The Hot Tub was a added luxury for achy bones!!All of the ladies were thouroughly impressed and want to return for another retreat. As for myself I would like to return with my family and another group of friends possibly this summer.

The house is so very roomy, comfortable and decorated beautifully. All the kitchen utensils and dishes we needed to whip up delicious meals were available. The house was immaculate and the staff very friendly, courteous and ready to serve.

Every lady was thoroughly impressed and all want to return again for another retreat.

As for me I am wanting to return with my family and another group of friends perhaps in the summer.

I took a group of students to ski and thankfully they opened to the bottom of the mountain but the top lodge
Remained closed. As far as the cabins go we were in love and plan to return!!! They made our trip something special and I believe the students behaved better after realizing that I thought enough of them to put the
Up in luxury rather than a hotel...

      We had a blast

Left on 03/17/2011 for a stay in March 2011

My family and another family (4 adults + 5 kids) just got back from staying at the Dream Catcher. In short, we had a blast. We knew going in that there probably wouldnt be snow for skiing, but that was fine with us. We did day trips to the Biltmore (awesome) and downtown asheville (also awesome.) Getting up and down the mountain to Scenic Wolf was slightly scary (have no idea how they do it with snow) but trips to asheville only took 40 minutes. The house was great. Slept all 9 of us perfectly, but wouldn't suggest much more than that in less someone doesn't mind sleeping on the couch. I had no cell service (ATT) up on the mountain/resort but the wifi in the house worked great (3gb download) so I was able to stay in contact via email/web. Owners had a good supply of dvd's for all ages (although some appeared to be missing.) Ping pong table was a big hit to our kids, although we had to go buy some decent paddles and balls for it. We left them there for the next guests. We really liked to location of Unit 51 as well. Close enough to walk to the pool. The pool was pretty nice and had a great slide, but it was pretty cold. Wish it would have been heated. Kitchen in the house was in good shape. We had everything we needed for meals. Grill worked great for steaks. Sorry for my rambling, just trying to recall all the pluses and very few minuses of our trip there. End result, I would recommend this cabin to anyone.

A surprisngly spacious little modern cabin

Left on 03/03/2011 for a stay in February 2011

I booked this cabin for a group of friends, and none of us had been to the Wolf in the past, so we had no idea what to expect. We were all pleasantly surprised by the Dream Catcher. It is very clean, modern and new feeling, and has plenty of space for groups up to about 8-9 people. The listing says "sleeps 11", but that's a bit of a stretch...unless all 11 are college kids who don't care about sleeping on couches and bunk beds. We had 8 people (adults) and it was just perfect. The kitchen is well equipped and the gas fireplaces (upstairs and downstairs) put out a ton of heat. This place is great for a small group of adults (8 or less) or maybe two couples with a few kids each. It's walking distance (very close) to the upper lodge and its lift, which is great.

My only real gripe is that the resort doesn't recycle, so basically all of your bottles, cans, and plastic go in the trash...at least as far as I know. They didn't return our call asking about recycling, and there were no designated bins or separate instructions for putting out recyclable materials.

The pots and pans ect. were not clean. No shovel to get the massive amount of snow away from doors. No broom to sweep snow out of house. Floors will be ruined if something isnt done about that. Lifts were not all running and got no feedback about that from office staff. Had to walk a long ways on some slopes to ski and were not told about other slopes and shuttle. All in all if I had known what the weekend was like I wouldnt have paid $1093.00 to go. It wasnt worth the money.
