      Breathtaking

We stayed in this house for Thanksgiving 2012 and it was amazing. The views are spectacular and the cabin was beautiful. Kitchen was fully stocked with just about everything we needed. We had a slight problem with the water pressure but a maintenance person came right out and was able to fix it.
The one thing I could say would be for the cleaning crew to do a slightly better job. We vacuumed when we got there as there were places we could tell had not been vacuumed but overall it was a wonderful place to stay and we would highly recommend it.
Thanksgiving day was gorgeous enough and warm enough that we were able to have dinner outside on the upper deck.

The appalachian House was the perfect location to house eight adults for the weekend. Each of us had ample space in the large cabin. We enjoyed relaxing on the porch, eating outside at the picnic tables, playing games of pool and foosball and soaking in the hot tub. We grilled out dinners and took walks around the area.
The only problem we came across was that the location of the cabin to hiking trails was over an hour drive away. Although it is close to areas like asheville or Pisgah National Forest, it was too far to travel. There may be closer areas but we were not able to locate these ourselves.

Although the foos-ball machine was missing some screws that made it inoperable and the remote for the living-room fan was nowhere to be found, all the necessary major elements were present and perfect for my four siblings, son and two grandchildren. We grilled out two nights, took turns in the hot tub, and had some hilarious, competitive games of eight-ball on the pool table. The grandkids loved the swimming pool; walks on the mountain roads were exhilirating and wifi made communcation possible. Multiple televisions made the kids happy and kept them entertained and the kithen was well-used and more than accomodating. We appreciated the daily trash pick-up! The location is perfect not only for our annual white-water rafting on the French Broad but is close to asheville activities and an amaing zip-line experience. I recommend all of the above and we plan to try to come back for skiing in winter.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Scenic Wolf's cabin. The cabin was simply lovely. Spacious Cabin with modern amenities and a fantastic view of the mountains. It was the perfect get away for my entire family. 4 of us drove up from Miami and 4 of us drove down from NYC. The perfect half way meeting point.

A few things need addressed: fix rockers/more outside chairs; fix Tv's; full set of pots & pans; better cleaning under things; find remote for fan in main living area. Replace burnt out bulbs in fixtures.

We've stayed at the appalachian House a few times now. It's a beautiful cabin. It's the perfect cabin for adults looking to get away. There were a few issues that were quickly resolved. Come this fall we will be planning another stay at our "favorite cabin"!!!

      Beautiful Cabin

Left on 12/29/2011 for a stay in December 2011

We had a wonderful experience there. The scenery is amazing. The cabin wonderful, we just had a little problem with the water pressure, but they fix it right away. My family and I really had a great time in there. The staff was super nice and answer all the questions we had and even suggested a few places where we could go site seem. The view of the cabin was amazing, it had everything we needed but we suggest taking extra paper towel, toilet paper (depending on how many days you are staying). The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals and the barquecue grill was a plus! The game room was great, it had a huge TV with DVD player, pool and foosball table, the fire place kept us nice and warm! The only down side is that the "clubhouse" where the heated pool is located was closed and we could not enjoyed that other than that we had a awesome experience and are looking forward for next year to come back and hopefully get some snow!

We had a wonderful time. The only negatives I would give is that when we arrived it was dark and it was not easy finding where we needed to go up the mountain to the resort and to the house. It was pitch black, we had to put our windows down and actually put our heads out the window to find the street. Also we didnt understand about the lodge, being open or not being open. But the house was extremely clean, we cooked almost all our meals and just had a wonderful time reconnecting with our family!! We would definitely come again!!

The cabin has everything you need. The things that were missing that we needed the people at the office we very helpful in assisting us get them. The view is great, and the cabin is very spacious and cozy. This was my second visit to this particular cabin and the only complaint would be that there isn't televisions in all the bedrooms.
