      Great views, nice house but...

Left on 06/27/2012 for a stay in June 2012

#24 - Highlands is a great house, fantastic views but when we got there, we cleaned for about 1 hr. Make sure to bring a dustbuster or hand vacuum. For the most part the house was "neat" but there were plenty of "dead bugs" on the floor in all the rooms. Spider webs also...Once we cleaned, all was great. The only other thing I'd suggest is to bring your own pots to cook in. The large pots supplied (at the house) were in terrible condition - stained with dried food from previous use...after trying for about 1/2 hr to clean and scrub them, we gave up. Made it quite difficult to cook for 6 people using the only good pot(very small). The roads (and there are 2) up the mountain are really quite dangerous and should be driven with great care...the back road is the lesser of 2 evils because its about 1/4 the length of the front road. Don't even think of driving either if it's raining...can be quite slick. Thus, make sure to stop and buy food for your entire stay or at least for 1 week. Overall, house was great and relaxing. :)

Fantastic Place to spend time with family!!

Left on 02/23/2012 for a stay in February 2012

Great house. We met our kids there for a weekend of skiing and visiting. We had a great time and the house was perfect. Enjoyed the hot tub and game room. The weather was a little warm for skiing, but we got in some good time on the slopes.
The upper lodge and restaurant were closed as well as the indoor pool. That was disappointing, but overall it was a great place to stay. The view was awesome! Would definitely stay there again. Roads would really be treacherous in bad weather, very curvy and steep. You would definitely need 4 wheel drive or chains.

Thanks for your candid remarks. This has been a very disappointing ski season for all of us. Very little natural snow. The upper Lodge is open primarily to accomodate the ski traffic, and unfortunately that has been sparce this year. the Swimming pool is closed for the Winter as was posted and notices sent to all guests. It will re-open Ajpril 1st. Hope to see you again soon.

      Family Christmas Vacation

Left on 01/15/2012 for a stay in December 2011

Visited for Christmas with my family. We were disappointed the ski resort was closed because it was too warm for December. The cabin was spacious, clean and had all we needed. We will definitely return next year!!

      Beautiful Cabin Fantastic View!!

      Great Experience.

Left on 12/06/2011 for a stay in November 2011

Spent our family vacation at Scenic Wolf Resort. Cabin comfortably accommidated 10 of us, varing in ages from 9 to 79. Terrific experience. Beautifully decorated and when the ad said 'fully stocked', they meant it! Kitchen supplies (cookware/stemware/small appliance) were much more than adequate. Only down fall, the drive up and down the mountain...but the views made it worth while. Will gladly return.

      Disappointed

Left on 11/03/2011 for a stay in October 2011

My family & I was really looking forward to a nice vacation in the mountains. We 've stayed @ other cabins at Scenic Wolf before, saw the pics, & decided to stay at Skylands. All the doors to the deck had large spider webs. The lamps had spider webs. We killed several inside the cabin as well. Add'l items were: the ceiling fan didn't work in the bsmt, the tubs were not clean, light bulbs needed replacement, a large pile of animal waste on the deck, hair located on the white sheets, etc. If the cabin was properly cleaned, all these items could have been corrected prior to our arrival. Isn't that what the "cleaning fee" was for? I'm venting because the owner(s) of this cabin should be made aware of what's going on with their rental unit.

Thank you for your constructive comments. It is only when guests alert us to issues that don't meet our standards, that we can fix the problems. I have met with the cleaningl staff and made necessary adjustments to prevent these things from happening in the future. I trust you will allow us to serve by visiting us in the future

      Beutiful Mountain Stay

Left on 10/13/2011 for a stay in October 2011

The weather was perfect and scenery astounding. Cabin #24 is very well appointed and clean. We had friends in another that was not in as good condition. Cabin was very clean as well. The only problem we had was that only one key was available and it was very difficult to lock/unlock the front door.Otherwise, we will likely select the same cabin if we return.

Unfortunately, we were notified about a week before our arrival that the pool was closed until further notice. We had been booked for several months and had already paid. I was rather irritated to see someone else swimming in the pool, so apparently it was not a problem of filter motor breaking down or something. Being there for a wedding, this had less impact than if we were only vacationing. It could be disastrous for a family vacation.

Everyone in our group raved about the views. Several of us are runners and enjoyed running the mountain roads and trails.

The location is great the cabin was awesome the only one complaint is that there were lights that were burned out on several fixtures and the people before left trash and cigarette butts on the deck. Other than that everything was clean and comfy.

Left on 01/14/2010 for a stay in December 2009

we spent christmas at skylands and had a wonderful time. the house was wonderful had everything you needed to cook with which was wonderful and completely unexpected. we took our own pots and pans and didn't need them which was a first for us. the house had plenty of room to spread out and the kids loved the playroom downstairs. the resort itself was great and we will definitely be back. i would recommend this house and resort to anyone looking for a laidback vacation that the whole family can enjoy. also we loved the pillows and comforters!!!!!

We loved this cabin. It was tastefully decorated with great tvs in all the rooms. The pool table and hot tub were great amenities. We watched to fireworks displays from our balcony on the 4th of July. The location was convenient to the complex pool. I would recommend this cabin to anyone.

      Great reunion

Left on 07/21/2009 for a stay in June 2009

Thirty-five of us in 4 cabins had a wonderful time for a week-long reunion.
The staff was most helpful in putting us close together. Our cabin was
terrific--very comfortable and lovely views. All 3 generations in our cabin
were very happy with our surroundings. The only drawback was the shortage
of parking area, but we enjoyed everything else. The kids loved the pool--it
was a problem for all 15 of the children on the day that the pool was out of
      commission.
