Our family stayed for 5 wonderful nights in th beautiful Flatlander's Retreat, and it was truly a retreat. We had a blast and relaxed using the hot tub, singing, playing games, watching movies and grilling outdoors. We are planning on going back next year!!! Thank you for proving this wonderful cabin!

We stayed at Scenic Wolf for 3 days for our annual family reunion, and I must say, everyone loved it and we will be back for a weeks stay next year and will be doing some horse back riding and hiking. My 10 yr old had a blast.
We missed our turn getting up to the resort but the pictures of this property was excellent. Great time will be back.
Very well maintained cabin with great amenities
Left on 06/20/2012 for a stay in May 2012 | RAS
This cabin was great, very well maintained. I was amazed at the detail with which every room was decorated. Even the game room had lot of chairs to sit (including the ones used for billaiards games). The hot water tub was great and so was the sauna. There was TV in almost every room. There were emergency and contact #s for anything we needed. There were so many games for kids to play as well. The utensils were clean as well.
Only issues was (not about the cabin though, but its location) there are no good restaurants close by and you have to go down the hill to eat good meal. We had an idea beforehand and therefore we arrived with lot of microwaveable and easy to make food.

Celebrating a graduation and family gathering could not have been more enjoyable staying in the beautiful mountains and exquisite Flatlanders' Retreat. What a memorable time! The hot tub, sauna, pool table and fireplace were only the tip of the amenities. The beautiful weather and great mountain views made this a perfect vacation. The comfortable beds and variety of bed sizes made everyone very comfortable.

Everything was clean, and accommodating when we arrived. The keys were picked up with no problems. All the bathrooms were stocked, and the tankless hot water was a big plus with 10 people. The sound system rocked the house up and downstairs. The pool table was quality, and all the games and movies could have kept us entertained for a week. The view was amazing as the sun set right off the back deck. We cooked all our meals in the kitchen which had everything we needed. Only thing that could have made the trip better would have been snow! I'll be back. Thanks Wolf Ridge.

Renting a cabin online without specific details about the location of the cabin as compared to the skiing and lodge facilities is a huge disadvantage. If you are from Florida and you are planning a trip to a ski resort, you should definitely visit in person said place. Talking with a Group Sales employee without a written contract stating the feesability of getting around is a big No_no. shuttle service is necessary for even the healthiest, youngest traveller---visit this resort first !!!

Great Weekend Vacation
Left on 02/13/2012 for a stay in February 2012 | crbrsgmg
The house was great. Enough room for my kids and their kids too. Plenty of space for everyone. House had everything needed for the weekend. Definitely the place to rent if you have 8 or more people. The resort was good, could have been better if we would have actually had a winter this year, but you can't predict the weather. The only complaint is the resort's website doesn't tell you the pool, lodge and resturaunts are closed if there is no natural snow. Glad we brought all our food for the weekend.
Christmas 2011 memorable even without the snow.

Had a wonderful Christmas in the mountains of NC even though no snow. The rental was great. The beds were all very comfortable and the game room was a blast . The hot tube and the sauna was a super plus for this cabin. All in all we had a great time and made some great memories for Christmas 2011.
Too bad the lodges and the big pool were all closed.

We had a great long weekend at this cabin. The amenities were top-of-the-line and plentiful. There wasn't anything we needed except food. The view was gorgeous. Saw some beautiful sunsets. Very comfortable. Great for a larger group (we had 9) but might be a little steep for just a couple of people.

My husband & I along with our daughter, her husband & 4 kids stayed 5 days. The cabin was large enough that we did not feel crowed. The cabin was well stocked. All we added was the food. The rec room was fab.The washer/dryer was a wonderful bonus, we appreciated. Only problem. Our cabin was on the only dirt road that presented a problem on the steep Mt road. I'd suggest a cabin on a real street.
Honeycutt Annual Reunion
Great cabin & views, horrible road/driveway
Left on 07/13/2011 for a stay in July 2011 | Honeycutt Annual Reunion
This is a great cabin for multiple families. Beautiful views while sitting on the well kept outside furniture. This cabin is on the only road that is not paved in the resort. It is gravel and very steep. Only one (out of 4) vehicles were able to make it down the road and back without spinning out and throwing gravel everywhere. We learned to back that vehicle down into the driveway because there is nowhere convenient to turn around on the road at all, especially if the other cabins are occupied. Would stay here again only if the road gets paved.

Fun house, needs better cleaning service
Left on 06/11/2011 for a stay in May 2011 | Pete
We enjoyed the stay at Flatlanders, for the most part. The house was a good size for the 7 of us and haad some fun amenities. We were not pleased witht the cleaning service. The downstairs bedroom had unclean sheets and rugs in the bathroom. In addition, when we wanted to get info from the office staff about hiking trails, they were not very helpful. We found that strange for being in the mountains!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the visit to North Carolina and staying at Flatlanders Retreat. The cabin was perfect for our family- a relaxing retreat. About a 30 minute ride into asheville. We enjoyed hiking the mountain and the beautiful views. The pool was fun for the kids. It was snowing when we arrived and we left in 70 degree weather. We hope to return soon.

I called to check to make sure there was a crib and high chair for my 8 month old and was told yes. When we arrived there was no crib and I did not hear from anyone. I finally called to ask where it was that first night and was told that the worker was a half hour away and would bring it first thing in the morning. He then wanted to make sure that I didn't have a late check out b/c others were renting the cabin after us. I thought it was extremely rude to tell me that he didn't feel like driving a half hour to bring me a crib that I was guaranteed would be there in the first place and then asks me to make sure we get out on time!!!

We had a great time staying at wolf ridge. The Cabin was awesome...Lots of room, very comfortable, and the view is second to none. Even if we didn't ski there was plenty to do, and the kids loved the pool and water slide and the pool table and dart board kept them entertained in the cabin.
Our pilot light went out on the fireplace and they sent a maintenance man out right away to fix it. We have no complaint's and will be back to stay in the future.

The cabin was perfect for our family. We were impressed that the cabin was suppler with everything we needed from utensils to entertainment. We enjoyed the pool table and hot tub. Our only complaint is the lack of parking. The roads are hard to maneuver without an SUV.
Great facility, beautiful views and lots of room to spread out.

We had 3 families coming together for a reunion weekend and your cabin was perfect. We lacked for nothing! Loved the enclosed pool on site as well as the hot tub and sauna. Tvs on each level were a plus too.
Great house - beautiful view!

The only drawback to this particular house in my opinion is the parking. There may be room to park 2 small cars but we have a Suburban and it was hard to maneuver in that small space. Other than that, the house was really decked out. How many places have both a hot tub and sauna!

We loved and enjoyed our stay here very much. We had 3 cabins with a total of 30 ladies and everyone had a great time and their was plenty of space for everyone without crowding up on each other. Our Women's Church Retreat in the mountains, close to heaven, made us feel so close to God. The beautiful scenery and lovely cabins made us wish we could stay longer then just the weekend. Thank you so much for your kindness and professionalism. We will be back!

We had 3 young children and 4 adults in our group and the 4 bedrooms were perfect. The home is well-built and has wonderful exposed wood. Two decks allow a perfect western exposure. Enjoyed the hot tub. Parking is tricky as there is a steep gravel slope to the house. We found it best to go to the bottom of the hill, drive back and back-in to the small parking area so leaving was easier.

The week my husband, 2 daughters and their husbands and children stayed at Flatlanders was awesome. The house was great and the views off the back were to "die for" the grandchildren said. We have told our friends about this great vacation rental.

Nice Cabin w/ plenty of room. Our teens loved the pool table and the hot tub. Great Views. Kitchen was well stocked with necessary equipment. Minor complaints: This particular cabin is just off of a steep gravel road and, once parked, it was difficult to get back up the hill (and this was in the summer with no snow!). It would be nice if they could pave that road as most of the other roads are paved. Also, we did notice a few ants on the main level (primarily in the kitchen area). My teenage daughter was also freaked out by a centipede in her room. But all in all, it was a nice stay. We would come back to this resort, but maybe choose a different cabin located on a paved or level road.

the cabin was lovely, even though actually parking in front of it was totally out of the question, the resort staff was totally unprepared for the snowy weather, i didnt understand this personally because one would think that being up in the mountains the possibility of in climate weather is great and that it is easily prepared for. other than having to park all the way at the lodge and walk to the cabin it was a good time.
another thing i thought was outrageous was that the lodge was charging $2 a person to shuttle them to their cabin because they were unable to clear the roads themselves, being charged to get a ride to the cabin you are paying at least 1k for because the resort didn't have the resources to keep the place travel able was ridiculous.
other than the lack of road preparation and common courtesy, it was a good trip
the cabin was fantastic and it is a gorgeous place!

The house was great, it actually snowed a little on Thanksgiving which was a big plus for my children from Florida. The house itself was roomy, fit us all, we had absolutely no problems with anything and would highly recommend the house to anyone interested.

29 - Flatlanders was a very comfortable retreat. It had everything you could wish for for a family stay.
The parking was not so good as the house is on a hill and the road had not been tarmaced. The location was great if you just wanted to sit back and relax. Besides the swamming pool on site there were no other amenities, and you had to travel quite a way to go horse riding, rafting etc.
