Overall stay was pleasant, but only after the first day. Check-in was a huge problem as door has an electronic code key and code was not provided by the management co. Furthermore, there is no mobile signal there, so we were stranded in the middle of a storm in front of the cabin until, we found somebody in a nearby villa to help us with a landline phone. Interestingly, the emergency no. for the management co. goes to an answering but only until 8-8.30 pm; so, you need a phone from where to make a call and then you wait to be called back. If you have an "emergency" after 8.30 pm then you are called back next day?! There has been a recent change in the management and this is the situation now, under the new Carolina Mornings management. Also be aware you may encounter a cockroach or two ... in addition, do not look under the beds ... it s really dusty. Tv and sofa in the living are outdated and in great need of being replaced. The resort itself is not much, not sure if advertised pool is open did not see anybody there. Lodge also is closed during summer.

This was a nice cabin with nice amenities and a decent view. We rented it primarily due to the 4 separate bedrooms. Pool and waterslide at lodge was great for kids. The hot tub was clean and comfortable. The grill was clean and worked well. Kitchen was adequately stocked. The back of the couch in the living room was broken, but no big setback. Cabin was mostly clean, but some cobwebs in the corners. Location 25 mi. north of asheville was scenic, but there were numerous other cabins on tbe mountain so little to no privacy. Given the mountainous terrain, exploring the resort by foot is difficult.

We rented 3 cabins side by side for our group and it could not have worked out better. The cabins were clean, comfortable, and the downstairs rec rooms wee great for the teens. It was a very cool weekend.

I did not know that the road was not paved and it was a mess! Very hard to get in and out of with all the snow and mud. There was a nail popping out of one of the steps to the basement and my 6 year old stubed his toe on it first thing. The queen and king beds were hard as a rock! The house is beautiful, spacious and well equipt. But it's a shame that after a day of skiing that when it was time for bed we had to sleep on the equalivent of a rock. The queen and king beds were like rocks. I also think it was very expensive.

Beautiful home, very comfortable, amazing views over the mountains and valley below.
Highly recommended.North Carolina has so much to offer with its but breathtaking scenery, friendly people, vibrant ashville, country music and traditions. Loved it. -

Overall it was a good visit. It would have been nice if there were more activities on-site. The fishing was below average, the bike riding could have been much better with trails on the slopes. The playground for the kids was average - it was challenging to find and difficult to get the little ones up the hill. The cabin had very poor Tv's so there was little from an entertainment perspective while you were on-site. The gravel road to the cabin was not very pleasant and surprising since it was the only one on site. Also, the lack of at&T; coverage was challenging.

We rented three houses (39, 59, and 69) for a family reunion of 21 people over Memorial weekend. The folks at Scenic Wolf Resort were extremely kind and helpful during our planning stages and gave us great information for activities. The views were fabulous, even if it was cloudy for much of the time, and the cabins were superbly equipped to keep our families entertained (and spoiled--nice hot tubs on the balcony!) for the entire stay.
