Famed Biltmore Estate is only 7 minutes south and the world class Grove Park Inn & Spa is only 7 minutes north. Bristol, VAThe Perfect Weekend...
Left on 03/05/2013 for a stay in February 2013
Recently my wife and I were somehow fortunate enough to find childcare (rare) and we jumped in our car (ok, our minivan)and took off to asheville, NC as fast as we could before something came up and interfered with our plans. We had ventured to asheville many times before because its close to home (Bristol,Va) but gives you the feeling that you are far away. We found Loft 39 on-line and noticed that it was directly across the street from Barley's (one of our asheville fave places to dine). So we thought we'd give it a shot. Choosing Loft 39 as our destination was one of the best decisions we have ever made! If you truly want to experience the amazing atmosphere, ambiance, character, and charm that asheville has to offer then look no further than the Downtown Loft 39. Owners, Bernie and Sandy were top notch. We were so amazed by the loft that we failed to realize that we were missing a bathroom trash can. Which, by the way, Bernie went out of his way to deliver early Saturday morning. Honestly, we would have been fine without that trash can, but Bernie made sure we got everything we paid for. If you love experiencing different types of dining look no further than downtown asheville. From casual, business casual, to fine dining asheville has it all! Some of our favorites include Tupelo Honey (try the sweet potato pancakes, unbelievable!), The admiral (which is actually a short 8 minute drive from downtown) but a must!, Early Girl Eatery, Barley's, Zambra's, and Mayfel's. There are a lot more to choose from but those are the one's that seem to stand out. We hope that we can be repeat customers of Bernie and Sandy's in the near future. To any future guests of Loft 39, if you happen to come across the book "Who Moved My Cheese", read it! Its a life changer and it only takes an hour to read. Thanks again to Bernie and Sandy for making this much needed weekend getaway a trip to remember.

Nate & Dera,
So happy to know that jumping over the mountain from Bristol to downtown Asheville was so pleasant for you guys. Kids are great and getting away alone for awhile makes the kids even more special! When we finish the Biltmore Studio about April 1 (no foolin'), a smaller, less expensive, but just as magical spot in the same building as the 39 Biltmore Loft, then we'll be sure to let you know. We are so fortunate to enjoy so many stellar restaurants downtown, as you pointed out. It says so much about you two that you took time to read "Who Moved My Cheese" and were moved to change - a critical and often difficult stage for all of us. It will be continued reading for time to come and we may add some other 1 hour reading to stimulate the mind and the spirit! Thanks.....we look forward to seeing you again, soon!

Bernie and Sandy's Downtown loft is the perfect space for a stay in asheville. The location is second to none as you're within walking distance of all the best shopping and restaurants in the Downtown area. The loft is absolutely beautiful and incredibly spacious. I couldn't imagine a better place to stay for the price in

Justin,
We are pleased that you so enjoyed your stay in our beautiful Biltmore Loft and look forward to your visit again, soon. Knowing that you resonate with the ambiance of the high-end Hotel Indigo more easily quantifies the aesthetics and function that the Biltmore Loft presents - plus the absolute convenience of the walk-out location in the middle of the downtown Asheville heartbeat.

Bluffton, S.C.Convenient
Left on 11/28/2012 for a stay in November 2012
We are regular visitors to asheville and have stayed in many great places, but none have been as convenient as the Biltmore Loft. Being right downtown and being able to grab takeout from any number of restaurants - or even order from more than one to accommodate our 2-year-old - was a huge benefit. Having the fabulous City Bakery Cafe and Barley's Taproom and Pizza across the street and Double D's Desserts and Coffee literally next door is another nice perk. The Orange Peel, a fantastic music venue, is just a couple blocks away if you want to slip away for a show after the family goes to bed. The French Broad Food Co-op is just down the street, and it happens to be the departure point for the hilarious LaZoom comedy tour bus, and the French Broad Chocolate Lounge - as close as you can get to heaven on Earth - is just a few blocks away, too. With a parking garage across the street and free parking around the corner on Lexington ave., we also had one of our best parking experiences in downtown asheville, which can be a nightmare. The only minor downside was some noise from the street relatively late at night - again, we have a 2-year-old - but it was not a big issue. It was a great stay, and we will definitely stay again!

Owner
Justin & Family,
Yes, the Biltmore Loft is so convenient in the middle of all the goings-on, especially with a 2 year old in company. Sandy and I also relish dark chocolate, organic food, desserts and locally roasted Notorious Coffee at Double D's, the hilarious LaZoom comedy bus tour, and sundry other compliments to our area you elucidated so well. You may have walked through gorgeous Pack Square Park at the top of the hill, too. We feel so enriched to finally have a new undercover 400+ City public parking facility next door to remove those parking qualms.....Thanks for recounting your experiences in the Biltmore Loft and downtown Asheville and a credit to you for identifying the occasional street noise emanating from any vibrant downtown area. Fortunately, our new Kolbe windows and wooden blinds take care of virtually all the outside sound. We look forward to your visit again, soon, Justin........Bernie
