Description from the owner

Charming renovated cottage across the street from Lake Louise Park in Weaverville. Just 10 minutes north of downtown Asheville and a few blocks to downtown Weaverville. Dining, shopping, golf, hiking all very close by. The cottage has been a hot spot for active retirees coming to Asheville. Convenient and comfortable. Take a stroll around the lake or picnic at the park when you're not out exploring Asheville.

      Comfortable, clean and welcoming

Left on 05/07/2013 for a stay in May 2013

We spent two nights at this very cozy, comfortable little house with our young toddler. We had everything we needed. The place was clean, well kept, and welcoming. We loved that there's a park across the street with a playground, small lake, and walking trail. Getting to a from asheville and Weaverville was very easy. We had a great time and would definitely contact Cheri in the future.

Everything was perfect regarding the cottage and location.

Left on 10/19/2012 for a stay in October 2012

As I said everything was near perfect. Very comfortable, and ease of location to everything. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. The only thing that was a minor glitch was that the WiFi would not accept/recognize my lap top without a password to which I did not have access. Other than that, it was a beautiful stay!! Hats off to the owners!!

      Perfect!

Left on 09/29/2012 for a stay in September 2012

Thelma and Louise's Landing was just perfect for us. It is located right off a main road in Weaverville. It will convenient to get in and out of in a hurry. The house was updated and spotless. The rooms were very comfortable. There is a beautiful park and walking track right across the street. Cheri was a jewel to work with. We will definitely stay here again and tell everyone we know.

Does Not Get any Better Than This

Left on 09/06/2012 for a stay in September 2012

Just loved staying out of asheville proper and found this perfect cottage not far out from asheville (driving time 10 minutes) and most of all waking up and seeing fog settling in, stillness, trees and Lake Louise giving up her pleasures with some early morning walkers and now and then a fishing man. Just nine miles from there you can get on the Blue Ridge Parkway directly and Ingles grocery is about a mile or so away. The cottage is exactly as pictured only nicer and warmer. The owner is a delight to know and explains things to you, leaves you her number in case you need something and then disappears, leaving you to settle in. I will definitely be coming back for a much longer stay.

      Loved it

My husband and I loved this cozy casa. The hardwood floors are gorgeous, the living room is cozy, the kitchen is spacious, and the view of Lake Louise is splendid. The central location of the house makes getting anywhere in Weaverville and asheville a snap. Try it, you and your family will love it!

      Perfect home away from home!

Left on 06/22/2012 for a stay in June 2012

We recently stayed here during a visit to asheville for a wedding. We originally booked a hotel for our stay but as the date neared we thought it would be nicer to have a house for my husband, myself and our 2 year old. This home was perfect! We were able to set up our Pack n Play in the second bedroom and not have to share our bedroom with our son, which was a great perk over a hotel. We also loved having a kitchen and grill to be able to eat some meals at the house.

Cheri was a pleasure to work with, she was extremely thoughtful and provided information on the nearby areas. The house was extremely clean and well kept.

The only things I can think of to mention are simply that there is no tub in the bathroom, only a shower stall -- so if you have smaller children definitely bring something to bathe them in. We brought a simple blow-up baby pool and it worked without a problem. And secondly, I'd mention that the road the home corners is quite busy and loud.

The park across the street with a view of a small lake and a playground was perfect for us. It was a warm weekend so we had the a/c on and still the road on the corner was loud. It didn't bother us but wanted to mention.

Thanks Cheri for a wonderful little getaway! :)

Thanks Theresa and I do hope that you will visit again. I'm sorry that you were bothered by road noise. No one has mentioned that before. When inside the cottage it is seldom heard unless windows are all open. Merrimon gets more traffic in the day time when people are going and coming home from work and of course visiting the park.

We really felt so comfortable staying in your home. Everything we needed was there. You totally gave us our privacy, but when we needed you, you responded right away.
The location across from beautiful Lake Louise was perfect. We fell in love with the area, so much so that we are looking to buy a place in Weaverville.

This home is wonderful! It is comfortable, and lovely- the furnishings are very nice. The huge screen TV was a bonus! My son and daughterinlaw from Weaverville stayed with me... they fell in love with the home too! I hope i can buy it someday [if Cheri ever sells it]!! The photos do not do justice to the beauty and 'home' like feeling of this place. The Lake Louise Park next door is peaceful and it was fun walking there seeing turtles, waterfalls, etc. Thank you! See you in September!! Marleen Bedryk

      Loving Weaverville

Left on 04/02/2011 for a stay in August 2009

2011 will be the third year in a row that we're scheduled to stay at "Thelma and Louise's Landing." That should say it all. Weaverville is a wonderful little community. It's very well located and accessible to many of the things we care about. For example, we often walk to town to have coffee and at The Well Bred Bakery. We so like the library and its staff that we became Friends of the Library last year.
The cottage is just the right size for us, pretty well equipped, comfortable, and easy to take care of. Also, Cheri and kc Swigart, its owners, are very friendly and accommodating. If something goes wrong (which is hardly ever), the wrong is righted immediately.
Another positive is that from Weaverville, it's easy to get to other places such as asheville, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Smokies, Flat Rock, and Hendersonville. And, the list goes on and on.
Since we live in Florida most of the year, we truly appreciate our stays in Weaverville so we can enjoy the gorgeous mountain scenery.
