Description from the owner
Asian meets Craftsman in this two story hillside home perched high above the city lights. Full kitchen with every amenity including a professional stove, oven, and gas grill on the deck. We even have cook books!
Lounge in the library, relax in the great room as the morning fog drifts across the Rogue Valley, or share a great bottle of local wine while you sink into the leather sofas in front of the grand river rock fireplace. In the cool evening after a play you can soak in the hot tub on our enormous deck and watch for shooting stars. The milky way is very bright in our clear, cool air at 2500 ft. During the winter we even get the occa...Read more

Ashland, Oregon
What's Nearby:
Additional Location Information
Just minutes from downtown Ashland with its world class Oregon Shakespeare Theatre, fine restaurants, great shopping, local wineries, and beautiful Lithia Park where you can stroll and the kids can play.
We are just far enough out of town that you get a stellar view when the weather comes through and are just a little cooler on those hot summer nights dining on the deck while watching the stars come out. But close enough that you can be downtown in 10 minutes! We've timed it.
The house is surrounded by forest and is visited by deer, rabbit, fox, raccoon, and the occasional bear. Don't worry, the bear stay well clear of people!

Palos Verdes, CAGreat house for OSF, hiking, relaxing and more!
Left on 08/29/2012 for a stay in August 2012
The Tolman house has become a part of our annual trek to ashland for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. The house is perfectly situated on the edge of the Todd-Oredson wilderness area while also being just a five-minute car trip into downtown ashland. The house is clean and beautifully furnished, the kitchen is well-equipped for cooking, the surrounding area is quiet and peaceful. The house has great air-conditioning and softened water. The downstairs bedrooms are perfect for the kids with the large screen TV and media center. The upstairs has a spacious living room with a stunning view, large kitchen and dining room, a cozy library, a bedroom with a bath, and a large master bedroom with an equally large master bath. The deck that wraps around the back of the house, overlooking the valley, has a jacuzzi, and everything you need for an outdoor barbecue.
Before discovering the Tolman House we had rented other houses in downtown ashland. While we enjoyed being able to walk to town, those houses were much smaller, much more expensive, much older and run down. After staying in the Tolman House we are spoiled for life. Now we prefer being slightly removed from the touristy part of town, the access to great hiking trails and wildlife viewing, and the relaxing, peaceful space that the Tolman House provides. -

Petaluma, CAPeace and solitude with more than a touch of class.
Left on 08/21/2012 for a stay in May 2012
Tolman House transported my wife and two children to a relaxing oasis that we thoroughly enjoyed for a week in May 2012. Whether it was enjoying the spacious deck while taking in the view of the nearby hills, soaking in the outdoor spa or lounging in the comfortable chairs in the cozy great room, the house gave you so many choices of how to spend your hours depending upon how you felt at the time. Everything you need is there to be found and spotlessly clean as well. Ashland is a short drive away and there are many nearby towns and attractions including 'kid-friendly' ones as well should you wish to venture away from this magnificent home. The owners are also a delight to work with - thank you!!!
