Boulder, CODisappointed in Service Provided
Left on 10/06/2010 for a stay in September 2010
I have been visiting aspen for 35 years and typically stay in the Galena/Mill/ Durant areas. While the unit was comfortable, clean and at a good value, the service was poor. Upon check in, I always request "no housekeeping" because I don't see a need to replace towels, etc, and I like to "go green". I am also concerned about security when I travel, and prefer that housekeeping not enter the room. On this visit I requested "no housekeeping". Upon our return from a day out, we discovered that housekeeping came in, changed towels, made the bed and relocated our personal items. i was very upset upon finding our personal belongs moved, since I specfically requested otherwise. In addition, my wife needed paper for the printer, and we were met with reluctance at the front desk. A 500 sheet ream of paper costs about $5.00 or about a penny a page. We were given a hard time about asking for 30 pages and told that they were trying to "go green". I offered to reimburse the front desk for the $0.30 cost. So, in summary I rated this experience low due to the poor service which affected my overall vacation experience.

This is the second year we have stayed at the independence inn. Unfortunately we had a bad experience. One of my collegues was look out of his room due to a faulty room key. We had to wait almost 2 hours to have it resolved. The 24 hour emergency call took for ever and the attending operator was extremely rude and unprofessional. Once we finally got in touch with the Manager he appologized and took care of our issue. Also the other on proprty management teat was wonderful. Frias needs to work out the issued and I would recommend having someone on site and our available to resolve issues that create a bad impression.

DenverNot a bed & breakfast
Left on 06/10/2010 for a stay in May 2010
Found this hotel while searching for a bed & breakfast in aspen. The breakfast was actually a voucher for a cafe a few blocks away, and not even a really decent cafe. Read a review talking about the hot tub on the roof, but it's not open past 9pm. The hotel itself was nice, staff was good, it's in a great part of aspen, but the overall experience was not worth the price.
