Stayed here for one night with my partner, and 84 year-old mother in October 2012 en-route to the airport for a flight home.
Why choose "that place next to the airport" or venture into a city hotel, or hang around a Pireaus hotel to catch an early X96 bus back to the airport when you're flight home is early next day? Well, maybe it’s because you didn't know this place existed.
What you've got here is the ideal venue and location to minimise the hassle of getting somewhere on an early-morning flight, or a great place to sit-tight if there are proverbial strikes. Although athens airport has a multitude of glorious, ethnic talent of all shapes and sizes to keep even the fussiest entertained, if I had to wait there under strike conditions for hours on end, it’d make me want to spit on a pilot’s neck. So it’s great to know you’ve got a superb fall-back location.
Our flight was 06.30 the next day. In the past we’d have done the Pireaus version above after arriving on an evening ferry, stomach and mind fuelled on Retsina. But we flew into athens very early from Milos and Janet was there to collect us.
Because we would be too early for breakfast the next day, we were offered it when we arrived (it was still only about 9am on a Sunday morning).
Then it was a quick slug of prosecco from the new budget store on the ground floor of the airport and off to bed for a few hours in the Garden Suite. Nice airy rooms with plenty of spaz potential.
Janet has a fridge stocked with cans of ace and bottles of wine that you can buy and drink around the pool. So when we woke up, we tucked in then went to a great tavern about 50 metres away – tasty cheese-skin balls, yummy oven-cooked lamb in paper and a milfette bonanza on a Sunday afternoon. Phew!
Janet ordered our taxi for us for the next day and we left in the dark feeling absolutely magic!

Pat and myself have stayed with Janet several times at her St Thomas home, and, have always been more than satisfied with both the price and the quality of service, plus a lovely english breakfast!. The service that Janet provides regarding pickup and setdown at the airport is without doubt another 2 stars in Janets crown. On another note as my wife is a smoker Janet provides chair, table and ashtray on the terrace outside our window, which is a boon to my wifes peace of mind(and also mine) Pat and Geoff Ball

When we arrived at the airport, our host Janet already awaited us with her car to pick us up and to bring us to her lovely B&B.; Situated at about 15 km from athens, her B&B; is really an oasis of tranquillity.
A beautiful garden with all kinds of trees and flowers and a beautiful swimmingpool is just what you need after a day in crowded and noisy but wonderfull athens!
Janet and her lovely Greek husband aris will bring you, whenever needed, to a nearby metrostation and they will pick you up there when you return from the centre of athens. So their B&B; is close to the airport and you don't need a car to visit athens thanks to their incredible service!!
The rooms are clean, very beautiful, cosy. At our arrival we found British cakes and tea in our room!! The breakfast is served in the garden, under the trees and next to the swimmingpool, while the birds are singing and the dog Phebe lays lazy at your feet. Home-made marmelade, bread, tea, fresh fruit, ...: Janet is really the perfect host!!! I'm so happy that I discovered this hidden little gem! As a matter of fact, we have already booked our holiday for next summer, in the fantastic B&B; of Janet and aris!!! -

We wanted a relaxed night at athens airport between flights without going into the city. Something close to the airport without a huge expense. We wanted a clean bed, friendly service, and no hastles. Janet gave us of this and more. Lovely family, met at the airport and returned, not expensive, clean "no fuss' accommodation. Don't expect 5 star, just friendly, clean and homely. Have already recommended to friends and they stayed here in august 2011!

Janets Pension liegt nahe am Flughafen und ist daher zusammen mirt ihrem Hol- und Bringservice ein idealer Start- oder Schlusspunkt für einen athen- oder Griechenlandbesuch. In die Innenstadt ist es etwas weiter, dafür ist aber die Lage ruhig und Janet unterstützt gerne bei der Organisation der Wegstrecke. Überhaupt ist die freundliche Betreuung der große Pluspunkt, der insbesondere dem Neuling das Kennenlernen der Metropole athen erleichtert. Räumlichkeiten, Ausstattung und Service lassen keine Wünsche offen.

Janet's vacation home is conveniently located near athens international airport with easy access to athens. With her airport pick-up service on offer you can be in her house drinking a cup of tea in under 20 minutes. Her house is sited in a quite suburb away from the noise & traffic where you can relax by the pool giving you time to unwind after the stress of travel and before starting your holiday/break.
Janet is very helpful and provides that very important link between English & Greek be it language or general information. Her roots are in England (I believe Newcastle) but her heart is in Greece which I think is a great combination.
I would highly recommend her establishment whether it is for a short or long stay.

As before, we spent the first night of our holiday in Greece at St Thomas (we go each year in May, and head for the Peloponnese but like to stay near the airport as we arrive late).
And as before, our stay was just lovely! This was especially appreciated since it coincided at a time when Janet had for family reasons to be in the UK, and we were looked after so well by her partner aris - who went out of his way to take great care of us just as if Janet had been there herself.
Being able to arrive at a lovely place, easy to drive to, near the airport, with nice room and friendly welcome, plus a while sitting out beside the pool with a bottle of wine before bed, plus lovely breakfast in the moring before we headed off...a great way to start relaxing the moment we arrive in Greece! If we didn't want to head for the Peloponnese but stay and look around near or in athens, we'd stay at St Thomas for the whole time.
Can't recommend it highly enough!

We have stayed with Janet and aris at St Thomas B&B; on many occasions and always felt as if we are at home. From the moment you are collected at the airport there is a friendly atmosphere and the house, pool and garden make a perfect place to relax away from the bussle of athens. Rail links into the centre of athens are good allowing you to explore the city at leisure whilst staying close to the airport. Breakfasts are delicious and a treat to enjoy in the verdant garden. Whenever you arrive there is always a cup of tea , or even a glass of wine on offer! All in all this is somewhere we would recommend highly.

Janet and aris' home and garden is very welcoming - lovely and clean, with the added luxury of a pool, surrounded by olive trees and garden. Their hospitality is overwhelming and nothing was a bother during my stay.
