SoHo Athine, boutique apartment is located in the historic centre of Athens, in Thissio, one of the most upcoming and authentic neighborhoods of the city and now one of the liveliest hip spots of the metropolis city.
Here, time seems to have stopped 200 years ago, when under the oppressive and age-long domain of the Ottomans, Athens had become a small village on the hillside of the Acropolis. Nowadays Thissio area is still made of narrow streets, small houses as ones in the neoclassical period of the 1800, minute Byza...Read more

Trinidad, West IndiesEverything I needed and wanted
Left on 09/15/2011 for a stay in August 2011
My husband and I stayed in the apartment after we had been sailing on a yacht for a week. The apartment was stylish, beautifully appointed and spotless. I found the use of space superb and attention to detail outstanding. It had everything we needed and wanted.
It was well situated within walking distance of the agora and the acropolis, cafes and good restaurants, public transport, a supermarket, a bakery, a wine shop, pharmacy and an aTM.
The owner was very prompt and extremely efficient in all aspects and transactions. She even organised the taxi transfer from the marina to the apartment at short notice.
The front door to the apartment was very secure but it took a while for me to master the locking and unlocking of it. I would highly recommend this property.

Making arrangements with Anna and Maria was easy; Lida was waiting for us when we arrived and we could not have been happier with both the apartment and the location: The apartment was very clean, very stylish and very comfortable, all our needs had been anticipated and we had everything we needed for a relaxed 10-day stay; although small we were pleasantly surprised at how accommodating it was for 2 adults and 2 teens. And the location is superb: The apartment building is on the corner of a pedestrian street full of cafés, and take this street to the center of Thissio, a 2-minute walk, and the Acropolis in all its glory will greet you. Walk to the Agora (the world's first mall!), climb up to the Parthenon, explore the Plaka neighborhood (make sure you get lost among the many small homes built on the slopes by masons from the island of Anafi 100 years ago) and enjoy the boisterous Monastiraki market. A small supermarket, a bakery, a wine store, a pharmacy and many restaurants are within walking distance from the apartment, as is a metro station, which will take you almost anywhere in Athens. A few highlights off the beaten path we'd like to recommend: While we enjoyed several good restaurants in the main Thissio area with wonderful views of the Acropolis, the best meals we had were at "To Steki Tou Ilia," a neighborhood hangout in a more humble location (come out of the apartment building, turn left, walk all the way to the end of the street, and turn left again; it's five minutes away and the lamb chops are outstanding). If you feel at all adventurous, take the metro to Omonoia Square and find "Stani" (www.stani1931.gr for directions), a milk shop that serves fresh yogurt with mountain honey and walnuts among other dairy masterpieces. And make certain you spend an evening watching a movie and drinking ouzo at the outdoor, ivy-covered Thissio Cinema; sit toward the back and you'll be able to see the screen and a floodlit Acropolis at the same time.

Modern apartment in great location with modern amenities. Short walk to acropolis, cafes & restaurants. Supermarket, pharmacy, bakery close by. Would recommend a new sofabed in lounge area as it is uncomfortable. Great big shower & washing machine came in handy. Lida was great & very helpful & Anna is easily contactable by phone if needed.
The standard & fitout of this apartment is fabulous.
Would recommend this apartment without hesitation. -

SwitzerlandConvenient, well appointed apartment
Left on 07/14/2011 for a stay in July 2011
I searched the internet for a few weeks to find this little gem. A very good quality apartment with luxurious fittings - lovely shower room, dishwasher, washing machine, coffee machine, juicer, cups, plates etc. I was travelling with 84 year old mother and my husband, so location was important. Walking distance to acropolis and wonderful range of tavernas!! Great local bakery, green grocer, pharmacy and hairdresser (Mina's) - extremely helpful and friendly. Maria and her greeter were very hospitable and organised. Only problem was with using oven and complex Samsung TV/DVD system. Would recommend a new sofabed lounge (the red one) as it was uncomfortable for my mother. Very clean, secure building, and true to the advertisement photos and information. A wonderful experience!

It was a very wonderful experience. The only surprises were happy ones and everything was exactly as represented and more. The apartment was spotlessly clean and equipped with modern conveniences that anticipated our every need, including a washing machine. The futon sofa was a bit uncomfortable for sleeping, but enough comforters were provided to add for padding. The location was ideal with a very short walk to Platka, Acropolis, rail station, restaurants, etc. In short, it was convenient to everything.
The staff was extremely accommodating and helpful - from helping with transportation from the airport to providing a map of the area to help get around, and just being available to help. They were only a phone call away. We truly felt very comfortable, safe and welcomed!
It was our first experience using something other than hotel accommodations when traveling, and it was so much more enriching and pleasant, not to mention affordable. We have told all our friends of the experience and highly recommend this great athens apartment. -

We loved the chic apartment, the proximity to a lively part of town and the main sites. Everything in the apartment was carefully prepared. We had some general questions for the lady who showed us the apartment when we arrived, but she did not speak English so that prevented us from getting much extra info. We did not need a car which was why we chose the apartment - everything easily accessible. Thanks!!

Left on 09/13/2010 for a stay in September 2010
I have only great things to say about the apartment and anna the owner. She really made all the arrangements to make us comfortable and at home starting from having airport pickup after a long flight to athens.
The apartment is really cosy and well decked out way beyond all our expectations. Let me give you examples:
1. Welcome gift of cookies and a whole basket of oranges (which we used the juicer for freshly squeezed juice every morning for breakfast)
2. Kitchenette was fully equipped and complete with condiments / spices necessary to whip up a quick meal. Matching place mats, napkins and plates - you name it, we felt so at home. Coffee, Tea, sugar, milk were all provided. I only had to buy bread for toast, eggs and sausages from the supermarket 2 min away.
3. Nice touch in the bath with candles and rain shower
4. Bathrobes provided (c/w matching towel set)
5. Balcony where we had breakfast each morning while we watch the world go by and soak in the morning sun
6. List of restaurants to call for delivery with their menus
7. Maps and guidebook to help us get around
8. Cds and Dvds
9. I could go on and on...oh did I mention colour coordinated (matching towels and bathrobes) branded sheets and blankets / comforter?
Location-wise was also fantastic. Walkable to the acropolis, Ancient agora and Plaka, it was also conveniently located to the hip stretch of road just from the corner of the apartment where coffee clubs, bars and trendy restaurants where the young hang out
We were a party of 4 and all of us gave it 2 thumbs up each - so that's 8 thumbs!
My daughter missed Greece as soon as we left and we will definitely return to stay at this apartment again. -

Strasbourg, FranceUnforgettable!
Left on 04/05/2010 for a stay in February 2010
This flat is a real treat in every respects! Me and my wife stayed
there in February 2010 for a long weekend (5 days). We have
been in Athens several times and wanted to replace though
good hotels for a rental apartment. Honestly, it was much
beyond what we could have expected.
This flat offers high standard comfort with an exquisite
decoration and design, which are rarely found even in 5 stars
hotels. Not only are all facilities provided, but the furnisher and
devices combine quality and style. The owner clearly has taste
and wants to share it with her guests. She is sooo kind and
friendly. Not only did we get a welcoming pack with champagne
and leaflets, but she also gave us very useful advice on many
queries that we had. At last but not least, we enjoyed
tremendously the light bathing every corner of this flat even in
February.
In terms of location, it is priceless. We benefited a lot from the
flat located in a very quiet, residential street of Thissio (historic
centre of Athens), but as soon as we wanted a bit of vibrant
day/night life, we got it in numerous great caffes and tavernas
overlooking Acropolis at less then 5 minutes walking distance.
Not to mention that the cultural sites, such as Agora and
Acropolis, are also at walking distance. We also recommend you
to walk down to the Monastiraki and Plaka's restaurants, open
markets and shops to feel the real Athens. When we wanted to
go a bit further, to the coast, Pireus and the Olympic centre, we
found the Monastiraki metro stop also at less then 5 minutes
away from the flat.
In a nutshell go for it! It's one of the best deal we have ever got
and we just hope it will not be fully booked all the time, as we
have definitely found a home to stay whenever in Athens!
