Fully furnished and equipped studio in Varkiza, Athens, with sea view, few steps from the popular sandy beach. It is recently renovated once more, to meet your expectations. It is air-conditioned and sleeps easily 4 adults, or a better a family with 2 children and place also for a baby in a crip. A baby cot can be provided if needed. It has one balkony with sea view where you can enjoy your morning coffee. Across the street there is the big pedestrial zone of the promenade and a big playground. There are many different public and private beaches in walking distance. The center square of Varkiza with lots of bus stations are at the corner. The...re is free public parking with about 60 parking lots across the street.

A couple can sleep at the double bed, and there are two other single beds which fold easy to have more space in the day. There is a dining table and sitting so that you can eat meals you prepare at the bar styled kitchen. There you will find a small oven with two plates and also devices like mixer, water boiler, sandwich maker to start your day. Varkiza has at least 5 public beaches for all tastes you can visit on foot. Public transport connects you with athens, glyfada or even sounion!

Varkiza is a partly urbanised area forming part of the municipality of Vari in southern Attica. It is approximately 2 km south of Vari, 22 km South of Athens, SW of the Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport and the Attiki Odos (numbers 6 and 62), NW of Cape Sounio, and south of the Hymettus Ring. This locality is linked with Poseidonos Avenue (GR-91] (where the apartment is), and is the second most expensive area in Greece.
The Hymettus mountains lie to the northwest and the Mesogeian plain to the north ; another mountain lies toward the northeast. Most of the area's streets take names from Greek mythology, and its main street, Poseidonos, forms a connection with the route running from Neo Faliro down toward the Glyfada boundary. Forests cover a part of the municipality, but much of the mountainous area is rocky and grassy ; Varkiza has a widely known beach which takes in tennis courts, parkland and fields, restaurants, taverns, complexes and other amenities. The urban sprawl sporadically covers the farmlands, and moves west of Varkiza.
Since 2001 Varkiza has been hugely modernised and even has it's own Starbuck's Cofee shop.Varkiza in the 1960s was a small village for the poor but today has developed to a small town for the rich with one of the best beaches in Attiki. In the summer Varkiza population triples as Varkiza resort is right next to the top summer clubs which are located on the athenian coast.
Near the apartment there are buses which takes you to the center (E22) and others to Glyfada where you can interchange with the tram, and others to Vari center where you can take one of the airport buses.

  The best thing about this apartment is its location. You just cross the road and you are on the beautiful beach! Another reason we would recommend this is the owner, Fortis, as he is a very helpful, genuine person. He picked us and dropped us off at the airport. On our first day, he gave us lots of invaluable tips and ideas of what to do during our stay. He also told us about the local buses and metro stations.
  
  Flat on Poseidous avenue is on the promenade with a sea view balcony. The flat accommodates four with the necessary mod coms. There is a TV and internet access via a USB modem. There is a public beach right in front of the flat, and private beaches within five minute walk. There is a supermarket nearby as well as bakeries, cafes, eateries, banks and pharmacies. There is a bus (171) which you can take to go to Vari which is the next town and this bus also takes you to agios Dimitrios Metro Station which is the nearest Metro Station. You can buy bus tickets from Metro Stations only. We bought a five day pass which can be used on buses, metros and trams.
  The bus E22is an express that takes you to Glyfada and takes the coastal routes and takes you into athens city by Parliament Square. E22 also takes you to Vouliagmeni beach. Across the beach is Vouliagmeni Lake which is famous for therapeutic properties.

  Spacious studio in a great location

  We stayed at the studio for a week at the end of may/2012
  The studio is spacious, has good light and a small balcony for added space. A grocery store and bakery were right around the corner from the apartment building
  Bus stops are close if you wish to go to athens for the day or in the other direction, Sounion.
  We really enjoyed: walking the seafront promenade across street from the studio,swimming at the public beach, a short walk away and the small marina where could watch the fishing boats come and go and buy some their fresh fish
  The owner was exceptionally helpful with information and provided transportation to and from the apartment
  We have enjoyed our week and would stay again if we returned to Greece.

  Amaizing time in Varkiza

  It was very easy to book apartment, the owner answered our questions quickly and clearly, so before coming there we could already imagine very well ,where we were going to live.
  
  The apartment was not very big, but very clean and good organized, so that two people can easily spend time there without feeling of lack of room. In the apartment we could find everything we could need - bedclothes, towels, small oven, air-conditioner, TV ,a big refrigerator (you always need cold water in summer time in Greece!). There was shower with hot water. But the most amazing was a balcony, if you look on the side, you can see the sea! it was very nice to sit there outside in the night , listen to the sea and have some drinks.
  
  What was important for us, is that the beach was not far from where we lived - just cross the road and you are there. The water was very clean, especially in the mornings. It was also something special to see - the fresh-fish market at the coast if you walk a little further from the beach.
  Just near the building there was a supermarket, and an awesome shop with sweets and biscuits! On the beach there were several cafeterias to drink coffee.
  
  It was on the one hand very calm place to stay, but on the other hand if we wanted to go to the center of athens, we could just take a bus (which cost not much at all).
  
  The owner of apartment and his family are very friendly people, always ready to help if we needed (like he brought us with baggage with his car to the bus stop to go to airport, gave us maps of athens,showed around the area, and gave many very useful advice about staying in athens).
  
  Me and my husband are happy we chose that place for our vacation, and I hope we can come there another time again.
