Au Cap Self-Catering Guest House are two cottages situated on the lower hill side of the Au Cap District on the South-East coast of the main island of Mahe, over-looking the Indian Ocean. From this strategic location, you have a 300 degree panoramic view of the ocean, mangrove site just below and the lush mountain sides above. Boasting a large garden with many tropical fruit trees. The cottage is located on the hill side not far from the Anse Aux Pins beach. It is in a sparsely populated residential area. The atmosphere is calm, quiet and pieceful with a constant gentle breeze from the ocean keeping you cool at all times. Around the cottage, there are various tropical plants, flowers and fruit trees as well as swaying coconut trees.

Robin and Francesca were charming hosts during our five night stay in their Guest House (cottage no. 2 - double storey), which is only a year old and fitted with all the best and latest kitchen, bathroom and entertainment facilities. It was immaculate and we had a great time there as our base for exploring the island.
Robin offered us a transport from the jetty upon our arrival from Praslin and had a rental car waiting for us at the house. We were made to feel very welcome in their guest house which offered sweeping views of the anse aux Pins area and the mountain forests where we could see fruit bats flying in the evenings.
The property is only about 10 minutes drive South of the airport but is shielded from any noise by the mountain. It is about 20 minutes into Victoria, or 15 minutes via mountain road to the West coast at anse Boileau. It is about 600m to the beach along a quiet road, and a small grocery store is just around the corner about 200m away. We drove a few times to anse Royale for superb snorkelling, about 10 minutes away. There were several good restaurants in the area, including Carefree and Kaz Kreol.
In the evenings we could go out or enjoy an evening in with cable television on a large flat screen tv, and air conditioning to keep things cool during the heat wave! The kitchen had everything we needed, and more.
Security was excellent, with all windows and doors protected, and a safe available. The guest house was within a secure property with electric gate.
Overall, we had a great time in this beautiful guest house in a central location and would certainly return hope to return again in the future! -

This is a charming, peaceful bungalow in the grounds of the owners who are extremely friendly and helpful. On the hillside, it has a large garden and view of the sea about a mile away. Fruit bats fly past in the early evening. The accommodation is very clean and includes a full kitchen with dining table, washing machine, cable tv with Sky News and South african sports channels, wifi, a safe, a covered private terrace, off road parking and the whole garden is gated. A car is beneficial, though there is a bus stop and supermarket about 10 minutes walk away down a steep hiill. Perfect for couples!
