SydneyNo better spot in the Languedoc
Left on 10/24/2012 for a stay in October 2012
We have travelled extensively and invariably use the self-catering option. Pomme Rose is, on all measures, the best self-catering holiday house we have stayed in. It is perfectly situated - the photos don't do "that view" justice - for everything: transport links, Fanjeaux is quiet, the magnificent Languedoc is at your disposal easily, there is something new in whatever direction you want to set off.
The house has everything you will need and the friendly service is responsive but not intrusive. Just a great place to stay. -

WinchesterFantastic house in lovely setting

Service before and on arrival was impeccable - friendly and helpful. House is one of the best I have stayed in - well equipped, lots of information about the area and with views to die for. Area is fascinating and village was within easy walking distance although on a steep slope. Would not only recommend to others but would go back with no hesitation. House is ideal for families and relatively active people. No good restaurant within walking distance but amenities in house more than made up for this

Kendal, CumbriaComfortable and spacious home from home with fabulous views
Left on 10/18/2012 for a stay in October 2012
Pomme Rose is in a good location - only 20 mins from the airport and easy to find. We found it a good base to explore the area but if you want to stay at the house there's plenty of space and the place is well kitted out. Lovely views and lots of secluded places to sit and soak up the sun. The village is very sleepy but has all the basic things we needed - bakery and small shop. The welcome from Bev was great and she made us feel at home straight away.

BrightonFantastic house, with a stunning garden, in a beautiful area.
Left on 09/07/2012 for a stay in August 2012
This is a simply fantastic holiday home. A beautiful, large and comfortable house set in quite stunning grounds, in the wonderful hilltop village of Fanjeaux. The views from the garden are impossible to capture in the photos, but the experience of spending warm summer evenings overlooking the Languedoc landscape is utterly unforgettable. Fanjeaux is very beautiful, and has a restaurant, a bar, a good boulangerie, all five minutes walk from the house. The area is fantastic, Mirepoix a wonderful medieval town, lovely swimming at a nearby lake (a drive away), the countryside spotted with castles and monasteries. Walking in the village one night, we saw a group of wild boar, across a field of sunflowers, running towards some woodland. It is that kind of place.
The owners are also very friendly, and the price is very reasonable. Overall, difficult to imagine a better experience. -

TauntonSpacious, well equipped house with magnificent views
Left on 08/23/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Pomme Rose is a lovely, spacious house. Really well equipped, clean and very efficiently managed. A home from home.
The views from the garden are outstanding - sitting in the garden on a sun lounger with a cup of coffee, a good book and that view is the perfect relaxation!
Also very comfortable living room with satellite TV, DVD and comfortable sofas and snuggler chairs.
Swimming pool at Montreal clean and great with kids.
Recommend beaches at Gruissan and Valras.
Also did day trips into andorra (with cable car ride into the mountains en route at aix-les-Thermes) and Barcelona.
A great house in a great location. Many thanks. -

Ebford, Devon, EnglandImagine entering a beautiful painting of the French countryside.
Left on 07/10/2012 for a stay in June 2012
My wife chose the Pomme Rose because of the view from the back garden and it was a very, very good choice. It was like stepping into a painting with butterflies flying and birds singing. We would have been very happy to have spent our entire holiday in the garden looking out over the countryside and we did eat all of our meals in the garden and spent time just sitting, drinking wine of course, and just relaxing.
The house is also fabulous. It has both great character and all of the amenities which are often missed on holiday. Things that we often don't find in France such as a toaster and English language channels.
We also found that everyone associated with the house was extremely helpful and would do absolutely anything to assure that we enjoyed our stay. We often use the concept of renting a house, gite, or flat when we travel in Europe. I must say that the Pomme Rose rates among the best experiences we have had.
