It is a two bedroom cottage comfortably sleeps 2 couples or a family of 4 and offers all the luxury you require while on holiday. It is one of our cosy two bedroom cottage. Upstairs, there is a double and a twin room both next door, newly refurbished with fresh carpets. If it’s a little chilly and you fancy a night in, you can light the eco friendly wood burning stove in the lounge, chill on the leather bean bag and surf the internet on free-to-access WiFi broadband or watch satellite TV and DVDs.

If you want to relax outdoors with a glass of wine or something stronger, you can use your south facing French doors to access the walled garden outside where there is a paved area and lawn. All our guests have access to free fishing in our Lochan which is stocked with brown trout. There is also a golf practice area, a games room which has just been refurbished. There is a pool table in the games room and various other games to keep the kids busy! Douglas Fir Cottage shares a common entrance porch with it’s neighbour Cedar, one of our one bedroom cottage. After turning off the busy dual -carriageway onto the quiet country road you will drive over an old bridge and you will be transfixed by the beauty of the waterfall and small meandering river. Keep driving for a while and when you pass the old red telephone box you'll know you've arrived. When you step out of your car you will be left transfixed by the peace and tranquility of the location, the beauty of the surrounding countryside, awed by the mountain ranges and rejuvenated by the fresh air.   Brilliant base for exploring Cairngorms

  Booking was very efficient with quick and helpful responses to any queries. On arrival cottage was spotless, well appointed with everything that we needed. We mt biked for four days in the Cairngorms and the cottage was a perfect self-catering base. Cameron was really helpful re bike security and also providing area for washing down bikes and laundering filthy bike gear.
  We would definetly return as a family and with extended family - lots for kids to do re games room etc and the close proximity of cottages works a treat for such get togethers.
  Hidden gem. Highly recommended. Just needs more sharp kitchen knives!!!

  Straight from the start booking through till leaving there were no problems, everything from communication in the booking process was not an issue and the owners could not have been more helpful. (they live onsite and help out anytime which tells you a story about the location.) The cottage was in the corner of a U shaped converted farm building and for two adults and two teenagers was very homely and spacious for that size of cottage. There were all the things that you would need to have after a long day out and about in the most scenic countryside, where there was an abundance of activities and walks available from all around the local area. If you like to pass some time fishing or feeding ducks, taking the dog for a wander through fields (keeping an eye out for the deer) , then all you have to do is open your door and step outside, our cottage faced on to the trout pond and was a joy to step outside and take in the surroundings with the ducks walking past the gate to the patio area . I would recommend this place to anyone who likes to get outside.
