I took my family recently to Tigh na Lochan to spend a long weekend and it was the best thing we had done for a long time. The house is very clean, spotless. It is also equipped with all the modern facilities that you can imagine, it even has a play station with games for those with more time to kill. It has two bathrooms which is useful if you are part of a big group. It has also a very big choice of children's toys and children's books, so if you are travelling with kids, no need to bring much staff to keep them entertained, there are lots in this house. The house it also has a back garden (again good with children, weather permitted) with table and chairs, so it is ideal for a summer barbecue. It is located in the outskirts of aviemore, about 5 minutes drive for the town center and all the amenities, including a supermarket. If walking, it is probably about 20 minutes for the town center. It is situated in a very quiet area. Very good to get a good rest away from the big city. And what can I say about the Cairngorms National Park? an amazing place just outside the door of this house for all outdoor sports and activities. All within the grasp of Tigh na Lochan. In my opinion, this house has it all. We will be back, no doubt.

Tigh na Lochan is a lovely house with everything you need provided. A very easy cycle or short walk into aviemore. The owner, Fraser, was a delight to deal with. The house was beautifully clean with fresh linens and towels. The lounge is so comfy and well laid out with all mod cons. We were very pleased there was a shed which was large enough to fit our five bikes in.
The only extra thing I would have liked is a wood burning stove.

We had a lovely holiday. Loved the house. Very clean, comfortable and very conveniently located for exploring the highlands.
We had a 5 yr old and an 11 month old who loved the large variety of books and toys there.
Would definitely return and recommend Tigh Na Lochan. -

We have just returned from what was our 3rd or 4th stay in this great property. It's an ideal family base for holidaying in and around aviemore. House has everything you need, even plastic cutlery and cups, plus toys and books for the children; it's very clear that the owners have experience in travelling with children and making things easier with younger ones around. Also tons of storage space and a great enclosed garden (and a new shed for storing bikes and so on. Well presented and in good condition throughout.

We love our annual stay at Tigh na Lochan. The house is modern and clean. It is an excellent holiday home for families. The accommodation is comfortable, the garden is very safe for the children to play in and it is near all the great spots in aviemore and the surrounding area. There are lots of toys and books provided for the children to play with so no need to take anything with us! The addition of an outside hut means the bikes are safe and secure. The owners are very friendly and helpful too!

Lovely, well equipped bungalow within walking distance of the centre of aviemore, with a supermarket, chemist, restaurants etc. Aviemore also has a train station and good bus links - including a frequent service to Cairngorm Mountain.

A lovely well appointed cottage in the ideal location for exploring Speyside and NE Scotland.
We've stayed in several cottages in this area over the last 10-12 yrs and this was by far the best - clean, well appointed and located in a quiet area close to local amenities and with good access to major roads.Response from Fraser MacInnes - 07/12/2012
