The house: Pros – the house is walking distance to the beach and overall the house is very cute. Cons – there were ants throughout the kitchen, the a/c was “touchy,” some of the hallway walls were warped, the ceiling in the bunk bed room appeared to be caving in, the couches were uncomfortable (wooden planks under the cushions) and the house could have been much cleaner upon arrival (there were clumps of pet hair throughout the house, some of the tabletops had not been wiped down, pictures were crooked, etc.). Midgett stated on the phone that nobody had ever complained about this property. After reading the guest book statements, that was clearly not the case.
The rental company: I sent my complaints to Midgett on three separate occasions before finally receiving a response from them. I told them about the issues above and expressed my concerns about the house being listed as part of the, “Ship Shape Club.” They said they would remove the house from the, “Ship Shape Club,” next year (4 months from now).
Overall: With a few small fixes this house could easily be a 4 star home. Given my particular stay I’m going to give it 2 stars.
