WINDSURFER'S DELIGHT! This is one of the best windsurfing homes in Avon. This sound front home offers the best vacation for water sports, fishing, crabbing, kayaking, or just watching the water from your front steps. Rig up and sail away without lugging heavy windsurfing equipment. The first level has 3 bedrooms and a full bath. You will also find A large sound front sun-room with a 4 person HOT TUB and incredible views. Upstairs is the master bedroom/bath and large great room with windows all around. The living/dining area opens to wrap-around sundeck with marvelous views from dawn to dusk. Amenities include TV,DVD and Stereo/CD Player. Addi...tional amenities include Washer/Dryer, Dishwasher, central A/C, telephone and a NEW gas grill. Also, enjoy the Sailboard Racks and the convenient windsurfing access.

  We love Soundsider!

  We’ve rented Soundsider for the past 3 years, and have a reservation for next year as well. We always stay 2 weeks around early april.
  
  There are many plusses to this property—the location can’t be beat. It’s directly on the Pamilco Sound in North avon. The water touches the property. It’s a 5 minute walk to the ocean, and you’re walkably close to Kitty Hawk Kites, Ocean air, Dairy Queen, bead store and other businesses. We’ve even walked to the Froggy Dog in the past.
  
  The master bedroom and a bath are on the top floor, along with kitchen, dining area and living room. A wonderful deck surrounds 3 sides of the house from that level. Gas grill is provided, but when we were there, while it worked, it was in quite beat up shape. There are some adirondack style chairs and a picnic table provided as well.
  
  Middle level has 3 bedrooms, a bathroom, laundry facilities, a small sitting area with TV, and more deck access—in front, facing the sound, a screened in deck which contains the hot tub and another small sitting area. Outdoor deck surrounds the rest of that level.
  
  We go for windsurfing. You can rig and launch directly from the property, and store gear underneath the house. There’s an outdoor shower for convenience.
  
  The people at Colony Realty are wonderful, and have always met our needs well.
  
  The price is quite reasonable, compared to other properties around—which we have also stayed in. Other properties, however, are a little larger, better appointed, and offer internet, so may be worth it. We’ve considered them strongly, but have so far returned to Soundsider.
  
  Soundsider could use an update—furnishings are older, somewhat tired, and the kitchen utensils need a serious updating—so much so, we have learned to bring our own. They are not quite average, but I wouldn't call them "poor". However, the knives provided are so dull they are dangerous. The lack of internet is close to a deal breaker. You can argue that on vacation, internet access is not necessary, but we would benefit from being able to get up to the minute weather and wind conditions—along with checking in with what’s going on at home.
  
  Although we’ve considered other properties we have always decided to return due to the location and value. The windsurfing access can’t be beat. We walk and run on the ocean beach every day, and take beach chairs to sit and enjoy watching the waves and occasional dolphins. Sunsets on the deck are outstanding.
