Perth, AustraliaA wonderful holiday experience
Left on 07/25/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We found Le Belvedere to be a beautifully comfortable chateau for our group of 7 people - there was enough room to ensure a relaxing stay was had by all.
The interior is thoughtfully decorated, and all the facilities we could wish for were provided including a well equipped kitchen, large entertaining areas, and an incredibly scenic
outdoor area. The pool was a welcome attraction.
We found plenty of areas of interest in the surrounding towns and countryside,
the market in argeles was a highlight, as were a number of the local restaurants.
Morning walks up into the picturesque mountain areas surrounding this home will remain a lasting memory. -

A spacious house with all the facilities and comforts , both indside and outside, that a group could possibly want. Situated in a quiet village but only minutes away from the thriving village of argeles. This was the ideally central base for a group of fanatical cyclists. The ample supply of Vegemite in the kitchen cupboards was a nice touch!

My family , consisting of my husband and I and my mother and our 3 children , ages 5, 6 and 7 were lucky enough to call Le Belvedere home for a whole month. It was such a sad day (yes there were tears !) when we had to leave as our experience in this gorgeous home and lovely part of the world was amazing in every sense ! the house itself.. words cant describe how luxurious but at the same time very warm and homely it is. It is perfect for adults and children also. It is like your own private palace and it really has to be seen to be believed ! The managers/caretakers of the home live next door and are truly are a delight ! they go out of their way to make your stay memorable and are a wealth of knowledge when it comes to offering advice on the surrounding areas. There are so many areas to explore near the house , from even a walk through the nearby village/sampling beautiful food in the nearby restaurant or if you want to go further , there are many places a short drive away well worth looking at. This is a great part of France and the gourmet food and produce is amazing. But I must admit when we stayed for a month it was difficult to tear ourselves away from Le Belvedere to go touring and seeing the sights as we loved the house so much ! another great point is that you book through the owners office in australia and they are incredibly helpful and friendly and are also are only a phone call/email away if you need any further assitance during your stay. Overall , an incredibly special and memorable experience , one that we hope to be lucky enough to do again one day...

LeBelvedere and Salles Argeles are just amazing.
Have holidayed in a few privately owned homesteads and although stunning, never felt entirely at home. Not the case with LeBelvedere. All four of us felt immediately 'at home' and very relaxed. Loved the fact that everything is so easily accessible... local sites, supermarkets, restaurants etc. There's so much to see nearby that I don't think we travelled for more than an hour the whole time we were there and still didn't get to see all we wanted to. The locals are wonderful... helpful and friendly.
The house is beautifully decorated, very comfortable and great to come back to after a day of sightseeing, relaxing out on the patio with glass of wine (some of the local wine is great value).
Was great to cook at home and try out some of the local fare.
The two local restaurants are both very different and both good value. At La Forge the chef is a mini dictator, there's no rare, medium or well done... it's his way or no way. But trust him, he really knows what he's doing... We kept going back. The roast duck was sublime.
Highly recommend the hike up to Lac de Gaub, a visit to Pic du Midi, Parc de Animiler in Argeles Gazost and the country lane walk from Lebelvedere.
The drive up and down the hill into Salles Argeles, scared the bejeezus out of us the first few times but soon got the hang of it.
Only downside, we spent the last three days of our holiday in Paris and came home exhausted.
Going back to LeBelvedere in Sept 2010 and will spend the whole two weeks there. Can't bloody wait.

The house, the views, the location, what more can I say. It has everything going for it. you can do as little as you want; relax by the pool, relax indoors, or as much as you want; explore neighbouring villages, walking trails or adventure activities. We did it all on a week stay and came away feeling like we had been here for months. Absolutely magnificent
