The Middle Rhine region and the Middle Rhine Valley are World Heritage sites since June 2002. And not in vain because of this narrow, indented by numerous steep rocky ridge Rhine forms the scenic backdrop for a memorable vacation. Here is the Loreley's home, and one fortress or castle ruin follows the other. Their names - Stahleck Schönburg, Mark Burg, Sooneck, Reichenstein, Rheinstein, Ebernburg the middle of the Rhine are situated Pfalzgrafenstein and many other world famous castles. For active holiday there are many paths through the region. The woods and adjacent vineyards offer a variety of marked hiking trails.
Those who are not (longer) so athletic, can learn to relax on the terrace and enjoy the beautiful view through the Rhine Valley or wander through the valley with your own car and know the many attractions. Even the restaurants and wine taverns of wineries invite you to stay and offer a taste of the local specialties from the wine cellars.
Get to know the wine-producing towns, with their sometimes still existing medieval fortifications and their often well-preserved town centers. You will enjoy the beauty of the half-timbered houses that are built on the Rhine running parallel to the main roads and small streets branching off. In Bacharach is the tourist information office Rhine-Nahe. The medieval town with its ancient city walls, castle Stahleck, Gothic Werner Chapel, and the ruin of Stahlberg in the village of Steeg are a strong attraction for travelers. Other attractions in Bacharach: Old House, Market Square; old Posthof, Ev. Church of St. Peter; yard with Cath. Church of St. Nicholas; Kurpfälzische mint (former mint); Kurpfälzer Amtskeller (now Town Hall), the largely preserved town wall (curtain wall and towers), and the lovely half-timbered houses in Bacharach and the city's earlier village quarters Steeg, Neurath, and Henschhausen.
Romantic is of course a ride on the ship. The tour offered by the shipping companies is versatile and a ride aboard the white Rhine Fleet is an experience for every visitor. Even at night you can take a Rhine cruise. The ships are illuminated and are on board is abundant [= destination: eat: eating:] and drink with music and dance. Shorter is a ride on one of the numerous car ferries that take passengers every 20 minutes from one to the other side of the river.

Rustic Tractor Ride
The wine area Bacharach Wolf Cave / south side of the Steeger valley. Start in front of the house.
The tractor can accommodate up to 25 people in the trailer.
The tractor ride goes from the house through the woods and meadows of the Rhine ridge beyond Bacharach by the medieval city gate "Steeger gate" into Steeger valley and into the vineyard Bacharach Wolfshöhle on the sunny side of the Steeger valley for wine tasting with 5 Middle Rhine wine and bread (available on request and also pre-order coffee and cake) in the middle of vineyards, with beautiful views of the castle Stahleck and the Rhine valley. Then the tractor ride goes through woods and fields back to the house, or continues on the Vogelswiese about 7 miles through woods and fields to the restaurant wine house "Singing Wirt" in Perscheid.
Here is a tour of the wine cellar and a stay in the guest room or in the wine-hall with live music and dance. Then it goes back to the tractor to the house.
