20 minutes from the Sagrada Familia and downtown Barcelona, this is one of the tallest buildings on one of the main street in neighboring downtown Badalona and offers a beautiful view of the coast and the beach, only 4 blocks away. Fully renovated by a northern European architect in 2010, this 50 meter (538 square foot) bright, sunny apartment flat has custom wood furniture and windows everywhere, a well equipped stainless steel kitchen/living space, a spacious bedroom for two with a classic wooden Japanese futon bed, separate shower and toilet and a small walk-in closet. This flat is dead center in Badalona, Google maps doesn't show where the new metro station is yet, right at the crossroads of Av. Marti Pujol and Via Augusta, a block from the flat, where you can take the metro to Barcelona, arriving at Sagrada Familia in 20 minutes or Plaça Catalunya in 25-30 minutes. Walking towards the beach is the Badalona train station and it takes about 20 minutes to Arc de Triomf and Plaça Catalunya (both train and metro accept the same kind of tickets). Right next to the metro is a new, high security automobile parking garage. There's a taxi stand two short blocks up around the corner from the flat, in case you want to ride into Barcelona for about 20€.
But Badalona is a nice place to see as well! The best is the very long stretch of sandy beach that runs along the town and is where families and couples stroll up and down and have something to drink or eat at the many outdoor cafés and restaurants all along the area. (I can recommend a couple of good spots to eat!) Apart from the Museum with the vestiges of Roman village Betulo, there's the famous Anis del Mono (logo designed by Picasso!) factory on the beach, heralding Badalona's recent industrial past and still manufacturing the renown anisette, whose aroma gently wafts through the area near the factory. There's a huge new shopping mall about 15 minutes walking, I've only been there once or twice. Badalona is also known for being the European Basketball Capital, with the Juventud team playing regularly at the pavilion near the shopping mall. About 20 minutes northeast is an old industrial section that's packed with trendy night spots, ask if you really want to go there. There are virtually no tourists in Badalona, the town has a far-away "up the coast" feel even though it's so close to Barcelona, and Badalona is safe as milk.

  Badalona is very nice place to stay near Barcelona. There is good conections to Barcelona. The apartment is close to metro station (150m) and train station (400m). To the beach is only 400 meters.
  The apartment is nice and the terrace is wonderful. The owner is very friendly and helpful and speeks perfect english.
  Looking forward to stay in the apartment again soon.

  Anne and her family will always be welcome at my home; they treated the place with love and care. The place was so clean and orderly, I wasn't sure if they even stayed there! Nice people and nice guests.
