We were on a golf tour and didn't want to be on the move to new accommodation each day. These cabins are great and centrally situated. Well equipped - we would pick up fresh seafood from the fish shop in Baddeck and make a fabulous dinner every night. Easy and interesting drives to each of the 5 courses we played - got a real sense of Cape Breton and couldn't imagine a better way to do that. The owners are friendly and helpful but don't intrude. A drink on the deck each night with a view of the water. It would be great there in winter as well with the fireplaces and big comforters for the beds - yup, it a great place to spend a holiday.

Set high on a hill overlooking the Brador Lakes, Macintyres is the perfect base camp for touring the island! A kitchen complete with utensils, pots, pans, range, and fridge cuts eating out all the time on your trip. The full bath is a nice treat, as is the queen bed. It was too hot for the fireplace, but we enjoyed it on our last trip. The wi-fi is fast, and the Macintyres are great people. Cabin #6 is at the end so you have a little more privacy, buit we stayed in #4 this year and had great fun with the folks in the next cabin over. They are also pet friendly if requested in advance. Read the cabin journals, they're really interesting.
