Peaceful and relaxing stay with almost everything you could need

Left on 11/03/2012 for a stay in July 2012

We chose this cottage as we wanted somewhere in a little village that was comfortable and had the home comforts we wanted. The cottage itself was charming and the owners really had everything covered, washing machine, dishwasher, comfy beds etc.
The only downside might be the very steep stairs, and the lack of internet (although some might find it a bonus!)
The owners live next door and were very friendly and helpful, and there are lots of little towns and villages around, although the village of Bagby was disappointing, no little shop to pop to and the pub was a little shabby.
Nevertheless, we had a wonderful holiday and would definitely highly recommend Wren Cottage.

      Great central location

Left on 09/16/2011 for a stay in June 2011

A idyllic village location in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside. Everything we could wish to visit was within and hours drive. The local pub is just 75 metres up the road and shops and supermarkets in nearby Thirsk provide all the living necessities you might need during your stay.

We came for a week with little knowledge of what to see and do in the area but with the help of the information materials in the cottage quickly assembled a programme that saw us spend each day touring a different area of Yorkshire.

Each evening we returned to a sweet home away from home. We got to meet the neighbours (owners of Wren Cottage) and enjoy the long twilight evenings over a quiet after dinner wine.

This is the perfect base for a holiday whether you potter and walk around the local areas or travel a bit further afield.

We will consider booking Wren Cottage again should our travels bring us back to this part of the world.

Cottage was clean and very comfortable.
It contained everything you would have at home. Shame it did not have a garden area at he rear and that the local pub was not more family friendly

      peace and views

Left on 07/16/2010 for a stay in May 2010

Our stay was fantastic we were looking for peace and quiet for some "down time" the cottage was lovely and so well equipped we were very pleasantly surprised by all the amenities available in the surrounding area. the local pub/restaurant was excellent with very friendly landlord and landlady, We took day trips including the steam railroad trip to Whitby which should not be missed, when we arrived we were welcomed with tea and biscuits and bottle of wine courtesy of the owners who live next door which we thought was a nice touch.would recommend this cottage to anyone. The 4 stars was only because as a disabled person i did find stairs difficult but not a problem for most people
