This is a wonderful new house which fits right into the island architecture.
The designers have paid attention to all details, both functional and
aesthetic. I loved the spacious proportions of the living and dining room
with their generous ceiling heights and windows everywhere. And views.
Fantastic. There is no question that your are in old fashioned Maine.
The kitchen is marvelous, with plenty of storage, spacious countertops,
state of the art appliances, two ovens, a grill and multi- burner professional
stove top. We had a huge Thanksgiving dinner there for twelve. Almost
everyone prepared something in the kitchen. Easy. Perfect for entertaining
or not. There is also a warm, welcoming den on the main floor and large
porch on three sides of the house which adds tons more space and privacy.
Upstairs are the bedrooms. All charming. Spacious. Some with window
seats. Beautiful old panelled doors. All with private bath. Beautiful and
comfortable. Below is a large entertainment center; kept the kids focused
for hours. I think this is a terrific house.

What a beautiful home; a huge well-equipped kitchen for preparing a delicious Thanksgiving meal, lots of comfortable sleeping arrangements for many guests and overall, a comfortable and well-appointed place with a great view.

What's not to like? Unbeatable views of the small fishing community, cozy
'be-by-yourself' bedrooms upstairs and first rate entertaining rooms
downstairs (some of which are easily converted to bedrooms). They
thought of everything: Cooking pots for one serving of oatmeal or lobster
for 12, a great grill on the wrap-around deck, all the pantry basics (locally
roasted coffee for ex.), even babygates! Great personal attention with the
added advantage of the "native" slant on restaurants, glorious views, Island
history and the 'low-down' on further ammenities in nearby Bruswick like
movies, concerts and theater. There is a terrific web site with links to
other Bailey Island notables that got everyone excited about the location
before they even boarded the plane! It is a beautifully decorated but
unfussy 'home' full of sunlight and tranquility. It was the first of many
visits for the family, I am sure.
