This Craftsman style home (built circa 1910) is the perfect place to enjoy a private, romantic holiday. Or, bring the kids for a fun-filled (and educational) vacation. The rich history of the glorious mining days and the Old Oregon Trail is very much alive in Baker City. Visit ghost towns, see the actual wagon ruts from the gold rush days and watch daily programs demonstrating what it was like traveling West in a covered wagon at the Old Oregon Trail Interpretive Center (6 miles).

I would gladly give this cottage 4 stars or more if it had air conditioning and cable. We arrived late one night on a hot Baker City day and the cottage was stifling! It had one room fan for four rooms, and we fried. Fortunately, it cooled down later in our stay. The owner and caretaker are wonderful but for the price, air and cable and wifi are needed.

We were pleased with the rental, and loved the location. We have two children, so the two bedrooms is what made us choose this over a hotel, even though it was a little more expensive. It was so much less stressfull to have your own kitchen, living space, and even back patio. There are several movies in the cupboard, and we had everything we needed. There is even a grill. The $50 cleaning charge seems kind of high, but overall, it made our weekend to have such a nice place to stay, so it was worth the extra coin.

I loved my time in Kaye's Cottage. Baker City is one of the old west's best kept secrets. I found the cottage to be comfortable and charming. I loved waking up in this cozy little
neighborhood and walking just two blocks to the downtown historical district for my breakfast.I will be booking again in august because something just keeps calling me back.
