When we were scouting around, Susan responded promptly and patiently to our enquiries. This gave us to confidence to book with her even though it was not the lowest rate on offer. And then, when we had an emergency, I was very impressed that Susan trusted us - she never once mentioned about payment or deposits. It was us that broached the subject of payment. We paid only upon arrival. And then, our deposit was promptly returned - in cash, on the last day of our stay. We were warmly welcomed from the minute we touched down. Her team, Sindhu, Gusti and Kadek were very professional and helpful. Sindhu reminded me so much of a character from The Secret Garden. Gusti, the driver was the key to our visits to places of interest (we did not have much time to research beforehand). He was both knowledgeable and informative, and always punctual. Kadek maintained the house well and I was most pleased to glimpse a slice of local life with her. Susan's letter of welcome was very informative - especially her recommendations of places to eat!
Despite the rain, it was a very pleasant trip altogether and we look forward to returning soon. -

Very pleasant and enjoyable in the open plan villa in what would normally be a peaceful and rural setting. We were unfortunate enough to time our visit with an Expo nearby which was extremely noisy at night until around 10.00pm. This Expo only happens once every 5 years though, so wouldn't normally be a problem. The service was excellent, and there were several good restaurants and the beach within easy walking distance. It was lovely staying away from the normal hustle & bustle of the usual tourist destinations, but having our driver available gave us the flexibility to enjoy the whole Bali experience.

Questa villa è magnifica per quanto riguarda l'arredamento e lo staff :), l'unico aspetto leggermente problematico è la posizione. La villa si trova un pò fuori dal centro e per raggiungerla bisogna percorrere varie stradine, che non sempre i taxi conoscono!

We had a great time at Umahe Tessa! Very nice villa, well furnished,cozy, clean and fully provided for our group needs. The staff was also very nice and helpful, as well as the drivers..a great experience I would definitely recommend!Only disadvantage is the location...a little bit far if you want to visit all Bali and you can't move without a car.

The villa is really elegant and beautiful. The rooms are large enough, the common spaces are open to the outside and to the pool, which is fantastic.
The service provided is effective and always very helpful. We had one breakfast and dinner prepared in the villa and the cooking service was outstanding, the food very good. All other services (cleaning, driving, etc) were very well provided and ready to answer our requests. The whole staff was really incredibly nice.
The only negative point we might think about was a bit of dirty water pipeline smell in one bathroom, sometimes. The location was also not really central in the village and a bit difficult to explain to taxi drivers in the late night. -

Villa Umahe Tessa is a beautiful private Villa situated within an easy walk to the beach and a couple of good cafes. It is surrounded by rice paddies and gives you a glimpse into how rural Balinese live.
The staff of Umahe Tessa are wonderful.Kadek the housekeeper made us breakfast each morning and little things like remembering how we had our tea and coffee made us feel very special.Each day the house was spotlessly clean when we came back from exploring.Her husband Ronnie stayed at the Villa at night and made us feel very safe-not that we ever felt unsafe or threatened by the friendly Balinese.
Gusti our driver was very knowledgable and took us on some wonderful tours. He even took our teenagers to an animal park while the adults had another driver take us elsewhere.When we moved to another Villa in Seminyak he continued to assist us with translations for the other staff who spoke less English.
The Villa is a little isolated from the main tourist areas and we did spend quite a lot of time travelling but the overall ambience and open feeling of the Villa made the travelling worthwhile. We were a big group of eleven including seven teenagers but we had plenty of room and privacy during our stay.The open air shower was a huge hit.
We had the chef cook an authentic Indonesian meal on our first night which was wonderful. We had him cook breakfast the next day but this wasn't really necessary as Kadek was happy to cook and shop for us.
My only criticism would be that the Villa advertises it sleeps 10 and a driver is included in the price but the car provided only fits seven.We had to pay extra for another car or a bigger vehicle to fit us all,except when we were picked up at the airport. In a more isolated area like this you really do need a vehicle most days.
But overall the total experience at Villa Umahe Tessa was brilliant from booking to checking out. Thank you Susan and your wonderful staff. We hope to return one day soon. -

Set in a lovely part of Canggu without too much development this villa is a little gem of a find. The rooms are all luxurious with clean spacious bathrooms. The staff are fantastic at organising food, transport, trips, everything really! And I would totally recommend getting the housekeeper to make the breakfast everyday!!!
The villa is about 40 minutes from the airport and 40 minutes from Kuta. And only 15 minutes from Seminyak. You can walk to Canguu beach in 15 minutes where there are some places to eat and drink. The driver is very knowledgeable and can take you pretty much anywhere! Other small things make a big difference, such as being loaned a local mobile phone that you can top up, so calling for the driver or anything else is simple and cheap! -

As a large group, we decided to escape the chaos of life in Singapore and escape to a tropical oasis...Villa Umahe Tessa was just the answer! Overall, this was an incredible stay. Susan went to great lengths to answer and questions or concerns we had prior to our trip, and the Villa staff went above and beyond to make our stay amazing.
The grounds were peaceful and relaxing, it's the kind of place you want to spend time in, rather than merely a place to sleep. The staff was incredible, so eager and willing to meet our every need. Sarieta, the property manager, addressed all of our requests, arranging massages, meals, drivers, etc. Both of our drivers, Yasa & Kumon, were excellent, knowledgeable, and friendly. They offered up suggestions on times to leave, places to eat, and important sites to see. They were incredibly patient and gracious, which was a must for our group of 12 adults! Kadet was our housekeeper, and met us with a beautiful smile each time! She took care of any grocery shopping that was needed, and kept everything neat and tidy.
This was a great value, largely because we were splitting the cost among 12 adults. It also included a driver & car, which is essential for Bali! The location was a little remote, which was nice for us. It was a very short walk to beautiful beaches (both Brawa & Echo beach)...it was almost like our own private beach! The pool was also a great way to cool off and enjoy the atmosphere. Because of the location, some travel times were a little longer...but traffic is crazy anywhere you stay in Bali. There were a few cafes within walking distance, and we really enjoyed those...but if you want a lot of variety or nightlife, you would need to drive into Seminyak or somewhere else.

The staff at this beautiful home were fantastic, nothing was a problem for them. The house has everything you need for a luxurious stay. Gorgeous sunsets across the rice fields, a very peaceful location. Loved the open feel of the house..and of course the pool. We did not want our stay in such a beautiful place to end, nor did we want so say goodbye to Kadek and Komang. We will return!!

We stayed for only 1 night, but would definitely stay again. Everything included, staff members were extremely professional and friendly and the property is clean and neat. A perfect and pleasurable stay.
