Be very careful - lies, extortion & threatened eviction - never

Left on 01/21/2013 for a stay in August 2012

We love this particular area and have visited it on numerous occasions with family and friends. We even got married in St Mundas Church directly next to this cottage. Last year, we stayed at this cottage and found it to be one of the most 'infuriating experiences' ever.

Our family party who travelled from South of England & South Wales included me, my wife (both professionals) three children (two twelve year olds and a nine month old baby) and three pensioners (the kids’ grandparents). The accommodation was fine and we had no gripe with the property itself as it suited our needs. Nevertheless, what we experienced on the fourth day of our visit was truly shocking and should be noted by all who are considering booking this place.

We received a phone call from the agency on behalf of the owners who were accusing us of having a dog on the property – we obviously denied this because it was untrue. We told the owners this but they (who themselves were based In North England) refused to accept what we said and we were told that if we didn't pay an extra £150 by 12 o'clock that day then the owner would have us evicted by the police - we were obviously truly shocked at this behaviour. The owners were going to evict our party that included three children (one a baby) and three pensioners if we didn't pay £150 in a couple of hours, and all of this was based on a falsehood (we didn't have a dog in the property!). We spoke to the local police who sympathised with our predicament but advised us that we had no legal rights over this property. We decided not to let this ridiculous incident ruin our holiday and handed over the money but we were, and still are, truly sickened at the behaviour of the owners during this whole episode. We feel that they extorted money from us by accusing us of a blatant lie and threatening to evict our party (including children and pensioners) if we didn't pay them within a few hours.

Glencoe will always have a special place in our hearts and I would recommend the area to everyone. We will be in Glencoe again this year but we would urge caution to anyone who may be thinking about renting this property.

Great cottage for large group interested in outdoor activities

Left on 09/20/2012 for a stay in July 2012

The cottage has room for 8 people, modern kitchen and two television rooms for adults and kids. Our group enjoyed hiking in Glen Coe, golfing in Ballahulish and going to the highland games in arisaig. The village store and pub restaurant are nearby and offer good supplies and internet. There is lots of different activities in the area for all ages.

Beautiful House in a Lovely Village

Left on 09/06/2012 for a stay in July 2012

The house is very nice, very quiet and in a lovely village. Ballachullish is a one pub/one shop village but there is so much to do in the area. The views from the house are stunning, and it is lovely to walk around the village. This part of Scotland is just magnificent. The house itself is well appointed, kitchen superb with everything you would ever need provided. The only things that I would comment on, and what stopped me giving 5 stars, were a problem with the windows that eneds attantion and a lack of wardrobe space in the bedrooms. Minor points really, because otherwise it is superb.
